They  used  to  enliven  our  Saturday / Sunday  nights  TV  even  if  only  B & W  --  oh  yes  I  remember  them  well  wink

Tammygirl,  I  always  do  the  clocks  early  on  Saturday  morning.  Its  the  only  day  I  put  on  my  wrist  watch  'cos  its  one  of  those  RC  jobbies  so  I  can  ensure  the  clocks  are  correct  at  least  once  per  year  innocent  but  that  has  reminded  me  to  go  and  reset  the  clock  in  the  'van.

Last day here today, have spent the morning getting organised for our move, awning down, car repacked on OH's insistence, now we will have lunch and then go out for a while.

On Friday we went north to Alford, via the very swish garden centre in Drumoak (lots to spend money on and all pretty pricey).  We were a day too early for the transport museum, opened on Saturday, instead  we had a very tasty lunch in the Bistro in the Main Street.  On the way back we stopped off at the garden centre just north of Banchory, even more stuff to look at there, and just as pricey!

Yesterday we had planned to go up the coast north of the city, but instead decided to visit the garden at Pitmeddan (NTS).  We had a soup and sandwich lunch and a wander around, there was not a lot to see other than the daffodils and some other spring bulbs, and emerging perennials, we had expected more spring planting in the formal beds.  Last time we visited was in a September and it was quite colourful.

We came home via Inverurie and stopped off at Lidl there for some milk etc, very busy in the town.  We have been lucky with the weather, only one short rain shower, mainly sunny, but now quite cold.

Been keeping in touch with DD via facetime so Callum does not forget what we look like.  She has bought him a sand and water table, yesterday was sunny and warm at home so he had all his big toys out on the terrace and had great fun getting soaked!

Are you going to be able to get away abroad?

Yes, hopefully. We transferred our March ferry booking to accommodate MILs hospital appointments and will now be going to France in September for about 5 weeks. No idea where, yet. probably decide when on the ferry.smile

Brother had returned to the U.K. after 2 years and whilst taking his Mhome for MOT a speeding motorist managed to hit his van in the rear end. Fortunately not too much damage to his van although other vehicle a probable write off.

Anyway we had a nice walk to the beach, partook of a pint of Adnams and didn’t get ask to leave when I got my phone out😂

Brother staying with us to Thursday then we are off to Wales on Friday

Went to see Mum this morning, she was pretty good today smile

Back home afterwards, even though the weather was beautiful and sunny. We had -2c overnight surprised frost was still on the ground when we got up.

Feeling pretty rough today as last night I started with a summer cold (its only Spring) can't stop sneezing, nose running like a tap, eyes keep watering and now I've got a cough yell I would have suspected hay fever but I don't suffer from it and OH has had a cold for the last few days. Here's hoping it only lasts a few days.

Hope all the Mum's have had a nice day.

OP, sorry to hear about your brother's accident. Glad that no-one was hurt. Enjoy your trip to Wales. Where are you heading this time?

Keep taking the tablets, TG and hopefully your cold will soon go.wink

We've moved on up to near Harrogate to the CL we stopped on just before Christmas. Journey was fine till we hit a long tailback through the town. Site full tonight so glad that we'd booked a couple of weeks ago. It's a good bit colder and not as sunny up here than it was down at Rutland.

Nellie, you're in an area we want to return to, there are some lovely village around. I've been looking at CLs near Melton Mowbray for a later trip.

Brue, we stopped at Greetham House Farm, in Greetham village. It has 2 pitching areas, both with 5 EHU, one all grass and one all H/S. We thought it a bargain at £11pn. If you want any more info just ask.

Bitter cold here today, although quite bright. Lazy last day today, sometimes you just have to chill out, and this little CL is perfect for doing that. Knitting coming on nicely, OH has crossworded himself to a standstill. We head home tomorrow, been a nice little tour this one, one nice new CL, two new to us Club Sites, and lots of pottering about. Dogs are pooped, two decent walkies already, so just a late night leg stretch to go. 😁

Just worked our nightly average out for this trip, which has included two Club Sites for four nights, and loos, hook up , hardstandings at all Sites, all but one night with showers as well. Average is £18.30, not bad really. Hawes was the expensive one, but take off the car parking charges we would have had to pay, and it brings each night down by another £1.10.

That's interesting TDA because over eight days we averaged £16.94 on club sites (not CLs) but our average daily spend was a heck of a lot more due to fuel and two lots of offspring being taken out for meals! wink

It was Hawes that put it up, £23.60 per night, which is a lot more than we normally pay, but we wanted to visit the Ropeworks to order a banister and fittings, so we would have paid £4.50 to park up, and then £4.50 to visit Museum and town next day as well. We enjoyed the site, mainly because we had the long run overlooking dog walk field to ourselves, nice and quiet (at least until the last morning when the inevitable happened and the patch of grass next to us was mown into oblivion as we sat out enjoying the sunshine😂) The facility block there is rather swish. Preferred Lower Wensleydale, that was only £17.10 so comparable with a lot of CLs. We used a nice £14 CL, and this last one is £17 per night, but has very nice showers and loos, and fantastic location. We were going down to Bolton Abbey, but so nice here, we decided to stop on. North East has some cracking sites, great value, one of our favourite places to visit.

We liked Hawes, I think we parked up in a similar spot a couple of years ago, high up on the site, will go back some day, it's a nice little town with some good walks. smile

This trip we are away 27 nights and will average £16.38 per night, which I think is pretty reasonable considering it includes the school Easter break.

We have 1 CAMC site, 2 CCC sites, and 2 CLs, both with serviced hardstandings.

However, having eaten lunch out on 4 days so far, it is not going to turn out to be a cheap trip!

Had a bit of drama when OH came back from dog walk first thing, another caravanner had been taken ill and his wife shouted to OH as he passed. Wardens alerted and ambulance called. Hopefully all will be ok.

I hope the other caravanner will be OK Helen.  What a good job your OH was passing by and could alert the warden.

    Dull weather today and cold.

Still feeling the affects of a cold so taking it easy today.

OH has gone into town, as he has noticed he has a slow puncture on the nearside front tyre of his car. I've given him a shopping list so that should give me peace for a bit longer wink laughing

Next door are having new windows installed today, so I'm camping out in our living room which is the furthest room from their house. laughing

That  shopping  list  did  not  contain  any  of  the  items  I  heard  about  earlier  today  I  trust,  TG  ??   Things  like  'unbaked  loaves',  pre-boiled  eggs,  Diet-free  cola  drinks  etcetera.

( I'm  sure  you'll  understand  wot  I'm  on  about,  and  have  knowledge  of  a  lot  more  of  them laughing  )

Had a wonderful day out with a friend including coffee and lunch at RHS Hyde Hall, glorious weather to added the finishing touch. Wonderful distraction for several hours. Back and a cuppa in my garden fore she left. I have done some deadheading and potted up purchased for a £1 each 😉 2 foxgloves, one of OH favourite plants, the slugs demolish them in the ground!

Now we have the start of a mackrel sky and I await a call from OH to say he's leaving Basildon after fitting of ICD hopefully I'll be able to get in to see him before visiting ends.

Been to visit OH. He's in good spirits and ate a good dinner. Done under local anesthesia but he was asleep too. Bit sore and bruised and very tired. Hopefully a decent night and then fingers crossed..........
