I love foxgloves as well Bakers, fascinating watching bees climbing up into trumpets. Never had a problem with slugs getting them, possibly because they prefer decimating Delphiniums first!

We are back home after 8 days away, a great little tour, no rain at all, bit chilly at times, but not in MH. Nice stop over near Harrogate to meet chums, and have a meal and a chin wag๐Ÿ˜‰ Garden is bursting with growth now, and very dry. That will have to wait until Wednesday.  A Mum day tomorrow for me, take her out and about, she loves mooching about doing errands with me. Then back to our place for tea and lots of fuss from dogs who adore her. Got all sorts of DIY projects to start and complete now๐Ÿ˜

Busy old day today. Double dose of dog walking to start off, then British Heart Foundation came round to clear dad's flat (so no going back now!). They are very good and for a small fee will clear everything, sell what they can and dispose of what can't be sold. So saved us a huge amount of work. Then took the van up to Cirencester for our first trip of the year. Seems very late for a first trip out but circumstances have got in the way this year (although, to be fair, we did have our Sri Lankan trip, so not complaining!). Then back for a game of bowls (got hammered - wish I hadn't bothered really!)

So time to settle down now with a nice glass of the red stuff - don't suppose there's going to be anything really important on TV later on is there? laughing

Edit - Bakers2 - things seem to be looking up for you - still thinking of you and keeping everything that can be crossed crossed!

Arrived home at lunchtime after a lovely few days away, the fab weather helped.  smile

The forestry commission have been doing lots of work in Fineshade Woods, tree felling which obviously needs to be done to manage the woodland, but they have completely cleared the car park behind the visitors centre. All the trees have gone cry  it now looks very bare and open.

Bakers2 glad you have had a lovely day and a welcome distraction. Hope everything had gone well for your OH. All the best.

Hope your Dad is well settled now M, such a worry for you.

H&T, itโ€™s such a shock when tree felling happens to somewhere you know well. I was reading that the Ash Die Back disease is still rampaging, be terrible to lose a lot of trees as happened with the Dutch Elm disease. We have a couple of Beech trees in our garden that we shall have looked at this year, been a while since they were last done.

Would like to know what you think of the Welshpool CL, as we've not done much in that area, OP.

Which are the CL's that you are using, Kjell. As you know we're always on the look-out of different ones.

Haven't worked out our cost per night yet, but will do so after I find out how much our present one will be.

    Great news Bakers๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Had to laugh. Mrs WN added MiL onto our bank accojnts insurance for their trip to Italy in July for 10 days. Guess how much for an 86 y.o.?

Nope, you're wrong. ยฃ25. She complained as it's gone up by ยฃ5.laughing

Good news B2. Hopefully he will be well enough to come home soon? This might be of interest although I am sure the hospital will give you both the low down on the device.

Thank you for all your good wishes, and the link David - yes plenty of reading matter from the hospital but good to highlight and remind.

A hedgehog, Arbuthnot?, has returned to our garden leaving calling cards. Hedgehog house given a good clean and filled with fresh hay and food placed inside ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Food bowl emptied and hay maneuvered so definitely been visited, but not touched last night. So pleased. Our friends up the road have 3 hedgehogs, they always have to go at least one better! They have 2 cosied up in one hedgehog house. Not been in them over the winter so looks like the warmer weather is on it's way.

Moulsey good to know your dads settled not easy to empty his home but glad to here a small fee gets it emptied and charity benefits from any sales.

Good to see a post from Golly ๐Ÿ˜€

Glad to hear the update from HelenandTrevor on poorly camper.

Wherenext I didn't realise you could add family members to bank account insurance, but there again I had to cause to think about it ๐Ÿ˜‚, but what a reasonable price.

Enjoy your day folks home or away.

I don't know what's  happened to all that warm sunny weather! I blame Husky, using it all up at Moreton in Marsh last week! wink

Today at Cirencester Park it's cold and wet - still, it could be worse, we could be at home in the cold and wet! laughing

The day started out nice and sunny but yet again its turn to grey skies.

Still really chilly outside so I'm staying in doors. Feeling a bit better today so managed to get the housework done while OH went to his Men's shed.

Glad to hear some positive news from Bakers2, hopefully the patient will be allowed home soon.

Looks like I've got to get the sewing machine out an make a few alterations to the bike cover we use when they are on the car. OH is out at the car as I type this putting the bikes on the carrier. There is another job to do but I can't for the life of me remember what it isembarassed

Glad to hear some positive news from Bakers2, hopefully the patient will be allowed home soon.

After conversation with OH this morning on the mobile phone about needing to return to Basildon today I decided to head in earlier. When in arrived a chap from the ablement team was with him discussing care after discharge and went off to organise it. My timing was good. Looks like they want beds ๐Ÿ˜‰. Wheels in motion for discharge in next few days. Saying yes to any assistance.

Now having to work logistics of collecting equipment on loan ๐Ÿ˜ฒ.  Seems like family can provide most of what we need ๐Ÿ˜ƒ.

Despite OH being lefthanded they have fitted the ICD on his left shoulder,  one Dr said they thought into would be right one, but discussion yesterday - not sure how with it OH was they put it on the left. He is sore and has a swollen arm and very swollen hand where a cannula was inserted and painful all day! Got that removed yesterday evening but there's still one left that a nurse said could be removed a few hours ago but hasn't yet!

Still frightened to get too excited.

Very chilly again here today, grey too with moisture from the sky. Making the most of reading time whilst it lasts ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

It's been showery and cold here today but have been sorting out more things in the greenhouse and went to a garden centre this morning for tomato bags etc.

Had a chat with elderly neighbours this afternoon, discussing the merits of various coffee shops in town and the costs of just a coffee and scone (which now exceeds my weekly wage when young!)

Sounds like you are beginning to see daylight B2. Hope things move on according to plan.

I read Moulesy's post about clearing his Dad's home and it's certainly not the easiest thing to contemplate doing, even with help. I expect your Dad has some of his own things with him Moulesy so at least a bit of home goes on to the next place?

It did brighten up for a couple of hours this afternoon so we had a very pleasant stroll over to Cirencester Park, stopping to chat to a couple of fellow Setter owners on the way. smile Bit dismal again now though, but forecast for tomorrow is better.

Brue - yes, Dad's got lots of photos and a couple of ornaments from home with him. He seems quite settled now. It was a bit of a wrench getting rid of some of his stuff, but I think he's happy knowing it will raise funds for BHF (mum died very suddenly from a heart attack at the ridiculous age of 61 so he's always been keen to support that charity.) Lots of fasinating old family photos to sort through now, some of which I've never seen before including some of my great grandparents!

A relatively easy drive down the A49 from North Wales to South Wales, albeit a bit longer than we normally do without stopping. About 3 and a half hours to Tredegar House site. Had lunch then set up. Cold with hail showers interspersed with sun. Stretched the legs after putting the awning up.

Moulesy, there's always something that upsets you in situations like the one with your dad. Best wishes.

After 7 days of lovely weather in Banchory, we moved yesterday to Craigellachie, where it is pretty cold.

Site only opened yesterday, we were the first arrivals this year.  Very quiet, facilities very clean but fairly basic and a little chilly.

Today we visited Huntley and Keith, and got back just in time as it started raining just after 5, and is still very wet.  In fact there was even some sleet, and the wind gas got up again, hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Just  spent  a  good (ish)  day  visiting.

Visit  to  Aged  Sisters,  but  got  inspected smile &  rejected frown by  Tilly,  her  eldest  son's  Rescue  Whippet. My mates  are  back  from  Fuengerola  or  some  such  Spanish  pub  site  and  so there was a  decent  'catch-up'  chat.

Missed  out  putting  the  08:30  doctors  appointment  in  it's  correct  place  tho'.  Sadly  I've  now  got  Another Blooming  pill  to  order,  collect  and  remember  to  take.  Not  a new  pill  but  I've  got  an  increase  in my "Levothyroxine".  Sadly  they  don't  make  a  pill  of  the  required  size  so  " Please  add  this  to  your  Repeat  Requests  and  take  them  together"  then  come  back  for  another  blood  test  in  about  6 weeks.  Bloomin'  neighbours  will  think  the  rattling  as  I  head  downstairs  is  some  form  of  new  alarm  clockembarassed

Well  at  least  they  are  looking  after  my  health  &  welfare  even  tho'  never  feel  there  is  anything  wrong.

    Trust  you  all  are  feeling  well / better / much  loved  { Select  which  ever  fits  best --  all  if  required  wink  }

Welcome!
