Yes, we have traversed the Pawnine Way! Great dog walk, last time we used a Club Site dog walk as good as this one was at Barnard Castle. We havenโ€™t bothered with the cheese factory, but did enjoy the Dales Museum, very interesting. Ticket gets you in all week as well, so good value. Our last night here tonight, we are off down to Ribblehead Viaduct, and into Ingleton tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜

Nice Site Hawes, but we have been lucky, the bit we are on is very quiet. The cottages look rather nice, might heave to look ho w much they are and if dogs are allowed. Refurbished loo block is very nice.

Have had a busy few days at work this week, as well as making lots of cup cakes, and large batch of cheese & Marmite sausage rolls,  special request from Trevor's work colleagues who wanted savoury  instead of cakes.  He took them into work today and he said everyone enjoyed them. smile

Millie , glad you got the new awning up , and that you are pleased with it.

TTDA   glad to read you are having a good trip, we have a trip planned to the area in May.

We are off off to Top Lodge,  Stamford tomorrow afternoon , looking forward to a bit of R&R and some walks in the woods.smile

It's a grand site Kjell, but getting popular. We couldn't get in last year at Spring Bank and this year they were full for the middle day of the period we wanted, so missed out again. So I think that if you wants to visit you must book early.

A good day at Burghley today. The sun was shining and even the slight wind had lost it's chill. Did a walk through the part of the estate grounds after popping into Stamford it'self. Then after lunch we visited the Garden of Surprises, the Sculpture Garden, where there are a number of new interesting pieces, and then into the South Garden, where there was a lovely display of Daffodils and also a patch of purple Fritillaries.

Burghley's been on our to do list for a while, Nellie, but we never seem to stop long enough in the area to visit. Have to make time next time.

Finished all preparation work for MIL today. Taking her out to celebrate her birthday, which falls on Mothers Day on Sunday (gentle reminder for all you folks), as she didn't want to celebrate her birthday with everyone else on Sunday.laughing Off to Llangollen and a nice restaurant.

Hope to start packing the caravan for our jaunt next week. Our first CL couldn't fit us in for an extra couple of days so we've decided to visit the club site at Newport as we want to go to the Wetland reserve there, plus there's a cycle from Newport to Abergavenny and a day trip to Cardiff ( a place I've never visited but other half has). There's also the matter of a visit to a certain Pen shop that Mrs WN has her eye on. She worried me a bit last night as she spent some time on You Tube viewing  someone comparing 3 different Pens. One came in at about ยฃ10, another ยฃ800 and the last one about ยฃ2,500.surprised Gulp.

Hope those away are enjoying themselves.

    Best wishes Bakers.

Came home yesterday(time up) lovely day here quite warm in the sun, with just light breeze,

Cardiology app at hospital this morning, thought i would be signed off only to find they had just received results from MRI at Royal Brompton so am still under investigation as they found another couple of "problems"  they think can be "controlled" by add medication that a  full blood test done today will give a clearer idea of what will be suitable, the very up to speed nurse i saw was from Papworth Hospital on secondment to our NHS Trust,i will be getting a letter explaining everything as will our GP (she had an excellent way of reasuring me not to worry)so not quite out of the woods yet

while "parked" in club site car park.decided we would bring carpets out of C/van and give them a shampoo at home before our next trip (sunday week) to Black Knowl and Southlands

ps noticed that the toilet block (being refurbished) Has some of the roof covered with plastic sheeting since recent firesurprised

OH is hinting that we should come back up here in September, so we might get a chance to try it then.

Today we drove over the hill to Fettercairn, good weather so good views all the way to the North Sea from the top.  Had planned to have lunch at the restaurant on the way down, but found it is shut Tuesday- Thursday at present.  Instead we stopped off at a garden centre near Stonehaven before returning to Banchory via the Slug Road.

31 vans on site when we returned at 16.30.

When we were in the locality we spent half a day parked up with the van in the grounds at Burghley (the house was closed) it was a pleasant way to spend some time just enjoying the outside. We couldn't find a parking spot in Stamford itself (everyone loves it there!) so will have to try a town visit another time.

We've just done a lot of travelling in a short space of time using three sites. Had a lovely journey back over the Yorks Wolds and was pleased to get near to one of my "interest" places, Star Carr at the end of the break. Unfortunately had to cancel next holiday at short notice so now trying to find a gap in May/June.

Here's a link to Star Carr if anyone's interested. HERE

Our last stop at Cayton Bay was not the best, the club is obviously going to have to spend an awful lot of money there, hope they've got some left over for improvements elsewhere. wink

Great to read you're all enjoying various activities.

JVB hope they don't take too long to sort out your extra meds. Delighted to hear your professionals seem to be on the ball, long may it continue.

Pleased keep everything crossed we have been told ICD fitting scheduled for Monday 1 April, wondered about the date but I was christened in that date so it'll be alright ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. I understand its breakfast and shower at Broomfield then Basildon for the procedure and back to his 'hotel room' in Broomfield the same evening.

Once he's medically fit he can come home*. I started on housework dusting the bedrooms this morning, a friend offered to clean our house but is currently away ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข. If they send him home in the manner they move wards it'll be hang about hang about and then action stations! Like the grand prix grid ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚. So I thought I'd make a start, might get the vac up there before I head off but there again it might not this morning.

Beautiful morning here, we've lacked the sun all week ๐Ÿ˜Ÿ not that that affected me personally as a courtyard enclosed view without sunlight from a hospital room is the same regardless! Just walking and waiting for the bus is more pleasant if the sun's out ๐Ÿ˜‰ I've got a load of washing on the line.

*Early discharge support cannot be arranged until we have a discharge date, then currently 12 day wait, then possibly visits twice a week, am I happy to manage until then??? I can't think it'll be any worse than what I'm doing now and I'll be in charge of his care etc. Lots of friends offers will be taken up. He needs his own environment to recover. 10 weeks today. Rehab care is not daily even in hospital ๐Ÿ˜ข๐Ÿ˜ข. I'm saying yes to whatever's on offer and can cancel if we don't want!

One step at a time B2...hope the procedure goes ahead as planned and then the next bit goes well. Yes, fingers crossed for you, something has to change in the end!

The sun is out here too, keep smiling.

Have a good time all those away and anyone else with things to sort at home or with family, my best wishes.

Fingers (and toes) crossed for you and your OH Bakers2.  It will be great to have him home and under your care.

Another beautiful day here. Glad you enjoyed Burghley Nellie.  We love it there and can get in for free as HHA members (I seem to remember that you are members as well).

Good news at last Bakers, fingers and toes crossed laughing

We had a lovely night last night with our eldest son home, nice meal, cooked by me wink lots of chat and laughter.  What a great early Mothers day treat, I even got flowers.

I managed to get rid of his last box of bits from the attic to, he used to collect stamps and first day covers. They have been in the attic since we came back from Germany in 1990. smile

Youngest son and his family popping in for the night on their way north in  couple of weeks, would like to give him his boxes but their car will be full as they are going on holiday frown

Weather was great this morning so another few hours done in the garden, one of the beds in the back garden now looking tidy.

I've also potted up a few plants that I've been growing from cuttings, lifted and divided a few Hosta's.  I've potted a few of them up they can go to Mum's care home for their garden project. Must look out some paint for their trellis. I've got lots of green that I no longer need, they may as well make use of it. smile

Suns now gone for the day I think, its very grey and looks like rain frown

Have a good weekend one and all.

Took the ladies to lunch today to celebrate MiLs upcoming birthday and Mothers Day. We went to Llangollen and arrived by driving via the Horseshoe Pass on an absolutely gloriously sunny day. The countryside looked like somebody had given it a good scrubbing with green buds popping out everywhere.

We all enjoyed a super meal and a stroll alongside the River Dee afterwards. Mucho Brownie points bagged.smile

Packed our clothes into the van. Plus a few other bits.

    Have a good weekend everyone.

Sounds like some sort of plan now Bakers, and I think being home with support will help recuperation faster.

We had a lovely drive over Moors from Hawes down to Ingleton, very spectacular with all Three Peaks and Ribblehead on the way down. Being us, we deviated onto a Roman road, extremely narrow in places, but we made it. Then down to Settle, and a browse around Booths.......yummy, yum. Down near Skipton now for next three days, currently on a lovely CL we have used before. I booked two nights a couple of hours before we rolled in, so not sure if this counts as no book touring! It is just so busy here though at moment, I am guessing folks are getting breaks in before prices rocket for Easter. The weather is nice as well, dry and sunny.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend.๐Ÿ˜

Brue, you can often get a parking spot on Water Street, the first road on the left after crossing the river bridge when heading from town towards Burghley. There's a pedestrian bridge that gives easy access to the town.

Where exactly is the Star Carr excavation, and can one visit it?

Yes we are millie. One of the reason for going was to see if we could get in, as we'd not received our new HHA cards, having left home before they arrived. But having contacted their HO I had an e-mail with our new membership No.s on my phone and that worked, thankfully. We want to use it again up at Harewood House next week.

It's a great estate just for a walk, and anyone can park up and have a wander around outside, with lovely views of the house.

Kjell, I think that at that time of the year you shouldn't have any problem getting in, as long as you don't choose to go during a school holiday, as there are cabins/chalets and pods by the site. We found it easy to get to and there's a good off road footpath/dog walk just across the way.
