Just love spring time at home, so much to see, something new around every corner.  Lots of flowers including cowslips.  Walked from Burnham Overy Staithe to Holkham beach and back.  Lovely bright day but a bit breezy so found shelter in the dunes for our picnic

The weather was beautiful today, smile so we decided to visit NT Stowe, the gardens were really busy so for a change we did the 4 mile circular parkland walk, skirting past Stowe School & house. The parkland seems to be bursting into life.

Bakers2, My thoughts are with you and your OH, I too send you a big hug, I have added a picture of one of the cute lambs from our walk, (thought it might make make you smile smile) We were also lucky to see several Red Kites.

Brue, Thanks for the good wishes, decided to make vanilla cup cakes with Bailey's Buttercream as they are easier to serve no cutting up involved.

    Enjoy your NE trip. smile

The cake idea sounded great Helen! Must remember the flavouring, one of our daughter's loves Baileys!

We are only on a short break but have had a nice time with the family up here. On our way home soon. smile

We've had a lovely weekend. No caravaning of our own, but we did visit my sister and brother in law for tea last night in their caravan.

We've been to see the film Lancaster Skies today. A small budget film with an abrupt ending but still interesting.

The sun has been shining here but the wind has got up. Visited our local garden centre on the way home from the film and bought 8 bags of gravel. The garden has swallowed them up and I still need more. 😐

Bakers make sure you plan a reflexology appointment soon. Just an hour will help you to continue onwards. 👣

We had a lovely time thanks brue, its like a second home to us now as we meet folk year on year that holiday at the same time. Weather fab this year, just a few days of strong wind and some clouds in the first week since then its been wall to wall sunshine but not too hot.cool

Your trip to NE sounds good, we like it there. Must go and revisit it as the Spanish City wasn't finished the last time there.

All the best to Trevor from both of us on his  retirement, Helen. Sounds like a grand day out at Stow, we like it there too.

Glad that the weather's been kind to everyone. It was a lovely sunny day here too, and I can feel it's effort on my face now, after a 3 hrs out walking part of the Ickneild Trail.

That’s true friendship Bakers, and so helpful. Rant away, don’t bottle things up.

Lovely day for us. We are away, first day of a tour, we have nothing booked, we just took a chance on a lovely CL we have had our eyes on for a few years.....lo and behold, we are the only ones on tonight, much to our surprise. Nice and sunny, but a bitterly cold wind tonight. We shall be up and off tomorrow, towards our second stop, again we haven’t booked. 😁

Dog number one is fully recovered, dog number two, who has always been a bit strange, has decided to starve herself. Won’t touch anything meant for dogs, but has just wolfed down a ham sandwich. So be it, Madam can live on whatever takes her fancy. Labradors are lovely, but boy are they hard work at times! 🤔🐾🐾🐾🐾

Lovely sunny day here today to start with, a bit overcast now and the wind is freezing.

Admin day today, OH trying to sort out everything we will need for our up coming trip to Europe. IDP appears to be straight forward just a visit to the main post office. Green Card also not to problematical, phone call to insurance broker, details given, card now in post. However during the conversation it appears our policy restricts us to 90 days visit to Europe during the life of the policy yellfrown this is of no use to us as we normally spend around 120 days away. Policy not due for renewal until Oct. so ok for this trip but will need to sort it before our trip at the end of the year.

We've had an insurance policy for the electric bikes for the last 5 years which also covers us 3rd party liability, just got our renewal for them which has doubled for this year frown house insurance won't cover them (C&MC) so will need to find someone else.

Time for a cuppa me thinks.

TG, not sure if it will suit, but try Pedalsure Insurance. We had a home insurance policy with them, got good reviews. Covered all our bikes, although not sure about overseas implications. Might help.😀

Final walk out to Seaton Sluice from the Old Hartley site, nice to be able to get out on foot directly from the site. An industrial archaeologists paradise! Spot the Vikings and the mermaid, a bit of everything here. wink

That  seems  to  be  a  growing  problem,  CY  !

They  have  removed  some  across  the  access  to  my  local  retail  park  and  replaced  them  with  some  of  the  same  height  but  only  about  2/3  the  width.  Even  taking  it  very  slowly ( I had  my  aged  sister  on  board )  the  whole  of  my  'van  rattled  fit  to  burst  !!

Well  got  that  grouse  done  with, so  now  I'll  get  some  lunch  and  get  back  to  my  Route  Planning.  I  don't  use  Sat Nav,  instead  I  get  the  AA  road  map , or  similar,  and  work  out  my  routes  &  distances  on  paper.  Its  been  an  integral  part  of  my  holiday  planning  from  way  back  in  my  camping  days  &  I  get  to  know  where  I'm  going  before  I  even  start  the  engine.coollaughing

Thanks TDA , I've have just done a quote with them. Unfortunately they are even more frown can't understand why the hike in cost this year, is it purely down to the cost of the bikes and the time we spend abroad or Brexit undecided

Still got to speak to holiday insurance folk yet to extend from 31 to 80 days cover, that's going to hurt me thinks.

Thankfully home insurance is already for 90 days, phew nothing to sort there smile

Suns back out so not all doom and gloomlaughing

TG - We changed insurers at the end of last year to Halifax who cover the electric bikes.

Had my bi-annual eye test. No change, thank goodness. Now want to see me every year as brother has glaucoma.

Off to hospital soon to have camera down the throat job. Always something to look forward to.smile Pre-cooked a Butternut Squash soup for tonight. Thought it might be best for throat.

Enjoy the rest of a beautiful day folks.

Thanks WN, will look into that when house insurance is due. We used to have our electric folders on the house insurance no problem but the new ones are a little more than 3 times the price, so CMHC won't cover them. Went with them last year to get the 90 day out of house cover, we had good independent bike cover at the time. Oh well will keep on trying, isn't it great banging your head against a wall winklaughing

I have to have an annual eye check as they have found a cataract, very slow growing at the moment thankfully but Mum did have them (and removed) so best to keep and eye on it (like what I did there) laughing

The soup sounds about right, not the most pleasantest procedure  to have but better than the other end job laughing

TG - Before we went with Halifax we had Household insurance with LV= and they also covered the e-bikes. Both companies, btw, confidmed that cover would apply when locked to the caravan so they were including caravans as an immovable object. Will have a look later at Halifax policy for overseas time limits and post later.

Procedure was a lot less unpleasant than I was expecting, but he did apologise for having to borrow the camera from another department!surprised

Tammy, the Halifax only give 60 days European cover so probably not enough for you. Can't recall LV= terms.

We can recommend LV for insurance as well, used them a few times.

Well, we rolled into a Club Site this teatime, no booking. Got a lovely little pitch next to stream, and the dogs are playing (nicely) with the ducks! £17.10 for tonight, and a bargain. This touring without booking lark is going well so far........😁

Many thanks WN for checking, most years 60 days would be fine but we were hoping this year to go for 80 days in the Autumn with up to 10 days travelling in the UK back and forth to the ferries. Will keep it in mind for next time though smile

TDA sounds lovely do tell which site, shows you can 'tour' in the uk wink

Sorry, I should have said. We are at Lower Wensleydale, which is about 20 minutes walk from Leyburn, in North Yorkshire. I worked out a route of places we wanted to see, and things we wanted to do before we set off. Didn’t book anything because we weren’t quite sure when we could set off (poorly dog) but so far things have gone well. We used a gorgeous little CL at Jervaulx Abbey last night, drove up to Middleham and had a stroll and a picnic up on the gallops above the village, muttered naughty words at EH who haven’t opened the castle yet, and then drove up to Leyburn. We shall go to Bolton Castle and Aysgarth Falls tomorrow, and I think we will come back here for a second night, as it’s £6 per night cheaper than the Hawes Site. We will stop at Hawes, but it had better be a good site, mainly because we want some rope for a banister from Outhwaites. We might have a couple of nights at Hawes, perhaps have a drive over to Sizergh Castle or Levens Hall, if they are open. From there we are going over tops to Ribblehead viaduct and Ingleton. Might come unstuck here with no booking, as the CL we fancy is popular. From there, down to Bolton Abbey for a couple of nights, then home via a date with Nellie! So much to see and do, and the scenery is gorgeous up here, our kind of sight seeing. Nice and sunny at moment, but there’s a chilly wind.😁

Had a walk around NT Sheringham Park Red route today.  It takes one close to Weybourne station.  I remember the first time we did the walk in 70’s and Wheyborne station in the mist with a steam engine there looked like a throwback to the 1940/50s.   Not many Rhododendron but Azaleas in bloom.  When the bluebells bloom it will be a picture. Back home tomorrow.

TDA, should have known you're at Wensleydale buy  the stream and ducks comment. We've did a fair bit of that area years ago when still working. We actually preferred the Wensleydale site to Hawes.

Touring in the UK is great when it all falls into place, we tended to do it in the winter. Have a great time.

We changed from LV the year before last having been with them for donkeys years, in fact I can't recall another insurer in our 40 years of house insurance. Fantastic  claims service in the 3 times we needed it, price must have been competitive, believe  we had discount  via CSMA or Boundless  as its now called! We changed because cover was 60 possibly 90 days, discovered by something which alerted me on CT, we'd exceeded it before but been fortunate.. Went with the other club as they automatically upgrade to  180 😃. Not that we'll require those time spans reading the leaflet on ICD'S.  Scary stuff 😲😲 but it's whatever it takes.

Your trip is giving me some wonderful memories TDA.  It is OH's home area so we have spent some great times there.  We stayed at Lower Wensleydale a few years ago and loved it. Leyburn is a lovely town and it is in striking distance of The Dales.  We also stayed at Hawes many times when we had the MH as it was so convenient. You sound as though you have visited/are going to visit all our favourite places. I can feel the north calling for another trip soon.

So glad you had such a good holiday in Lanzarote Tammygirl. You weather sounds wonderful.  Wish we could have stayed for longer but we loved the time we were in Tenerife. Great weather, did lots of walking and swimming. met some lovely people and loved the hotel (again!). Best of luck with your insurance.

It sounds like you are having a great time with the family brue. Lovely photos. How is your elderly terrier coping?

Best of luck with your route planning ABM. We have a sat nav but I always print off the AA route planner as well as a back up.

Glad to hear that your procedure was better than expected.  OH had it done a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as bad as he had feared. Hope the results as good.

Your recent trip sounds good OP.  We love Sheringham Park.

I had my annual eye check on Friday.  Still no referral for my cataracts.  They can't refer now while they can still rectify them with spectacles frown.  It is getting expensive as I need new varifocals, both clear and sunglasses every 9 to 12 months yell. We had lunch with some long standing friends yesterday - 6 of us in total - we go back over 50 years.  We meet up 3 or 4 times a year and the conversation just starts where we left off last time.  Lots of laughs.  We are off to Ferry Meadows on Wednesday for a few days to try out our new air awning.  Wish us luck!

Milliehull having a cataract gets very expensive as we both seem to know! Mine has changed 9 increments since last May 😲. I generally wear contact lenses and would be paying for new ones every three months anyway but I've not paid for new glasses since then on the ocassions I wear them I struggle with them but thankfully I manage and don't drive in them for that reason. My optician referred me  last summer following NICE guidelines changes in 2017 and first consultant said it wasn't bad enough, my optician re-referred me and I chose a different consultant and he gave me a date for the op there and then, no confirmation NHS letter yet 😉. The NICE guidelines NICE CATARACT INFO state it's not just vision but how it effects daily life.

Sounds like a lovely catch up with friends, it's great when you can pick up without noticing the time that passed since the last meet. Have a great time at Ferry Meadows I'm sure you'll enjoy it and master the air awning without a hitch or words 😉

More waiting but Dr's are preparing OH for op whilst we await a date, had to go on warfrin yesterday to get INR level correct so 2-3 days before blood test, all getting very tight to son's  wedding day! The stroke OT & physio happy for discharge with support, far less than I feared but he needs home and we'll muddle through, it won't happen until after the op anyway. So again we wait, sadly he isn't allowed off the ward so unable to enjoy the air or change!

Once again thank you all for your kind thoughts words and prayers. Started to read the booklet about ICD's  again yesterday but it's not easy! I'm sticking to reading all the info they give you on a need to know basis,or is that head in the sand? I don't care were dealing with enough at present.

Someone mentioned reflexology - my therapist is having building work at the therapy rooms so only doing mobile, I'm high up the list for treatment once it's finished, I want to keep it as a special time and place for me, no distractions of 'normal' life 😂😂.  Normal is the joke there!

Nice for OH to receive a surprise visit yesterday afternoon,  new faces and stimulation is good for him but also tiring. He's in dire need of a haircut and I've  got one sorted for Thursday, hospital don't have one!, so my hairdresser has one of her ladies who's willing to come out and do it. He still has his beard but son gave that a good tidy up so it's not too bad, he refuses to be shaved 😲 wasn't something he was keen on anyway!

Wherenext fingers crossed for your results and glad it wasn't as bad a you feared.

Moulesy I hope your procedure went well and you were like Wherenext in the actual procedure and don't have to wait too long for results.

Meeting a friend for cuppa in town as I have a few chores to do on the way to the hospital today.

    Enjoy your day folks.
