Seeing as we're comparing Organs can I throw my tuppence worth in?
3 years ago we attended an Open Day at Howden-le-Wear in the North East to see this magnificent Wurlitzer and to have a look around the back at all of the pipes, plus we were given a 30 minute talk on how it was saved in the nick of time, had to be dismantled pipe by pipe and reconstructed back at its current location. Plus of course we had a grand demonstration of its powers. These Open Days in September are worth looking out for.
Sounds like you had a grand day @Francis. Norfolk seems to agree with you.

We are at Heacham for a few days. We arrived just after lunch so missed the rain. We have had lovely weather all day. Had a short wander down the beach just now. Such a beautiful evening. The weather forecast for tomorrow not good though.
I hope the result of your op is good @Oneputt.
Great photos @Francis

Very pleased to hear that your operation went well, @Oneputt and hope that the results come back clear.
Looks as if you made a good choice of venue today @Francis, you certainly have found interesting places to visit. Grand photos again!
Glad to read that nothing untoward happened today at your OH's screening, @Wherenext Can't you arrange a home delivery of your MIL's prescription, as we can get them delivered to the door by our pharmacy?
@DSB it appears that you too have made good use of the fine weather to get out and about, lovely to see the sea looking so blue.

After yesterday's thunderstorms passed through we had some more rain through the night but woke to a fine morning. OH decided to do another round of washing before we left the site, as we were so close to the water. All fine packing up but we did run into some rain after Ellesmere but it had stopped by the time we got to the A5. Traffic was reasonable and we had a good tow through to our latest CL, another new one to us, near Corwen. The owner was saying just how quiet it has been all year, although it is full tonight. I took a walk across the fields in the afternoon to Llandrillo so here is a view looking over the village towards the Arenig Hills, and of the medieval Church of St Trillo, which was rebuilt in 1776 and again in 1875-7.

I think they do behind the scenes tours of their Christmas props and costumes all year @Wherenext .
Incidentally, the late ABM was a fan of Thursford.

@Tinwheeler Brian did come to mind today when looking at the steam engines
@nelliethehooker glad to read you got to your latest site with no issues
@milliehull have a nice time away

Sorry @Francis, I called you WN 😳

Can't you arrange a home delivery of your MIL's prescription, as we can get them delivered to the door by our pharmacy?
Ha Ha. This Pharmacy couldn't organise the proverbial. OH and self have changed from them but around here it's a case of jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.

Sorry, who are you?🤔😀

Beautiful weather this morning - lovely sunshine and a gentle breeze so we went to Hunstanton and had a walk along the seafront and then had a coffee and 'people watched' for a bit and watched the amphibious craft going out to sea. OH remarked that there weren't many people swimming, only paddling so I reminded him that when the tide is right out at Hunstanton the water only comes up to your shins 😁. It clouded over later in the day but only spits and spots of rain. OH now watching the football.
I heard that The Runtons near Cromer, especially West Runton were flooded in the deluge yesterday. I do hope people's homes weren't flooded.

@milliehull it looks, from your grand photos, as if the weather was much better than forecast for you. Glad you are enjoying your stay at Heacham.
Hope that the day brightened up for you @DSB and you were able to get out somewhere.
More rain overnight for us although it was dry but cloudy this morning. OH took the opportunity to do another round of washing, caravan rugs this time, which we were able to get dried outside when we came back from our day out. We visited Clocaenog Forest and had a couple of walks, from the Bod Petryal car park. We did have a couple of short periods of drizzle when we were out but didn't really get wet. Bod Petryal means "rectangular dwelling" and is named after the old gamekeeper's cottage.

Home now from Islay, it was a good break. Smooth crossings both ways, weather mixed, but plenty to see. Visited a couple of the distilleries and did the tours, had lunch at one of them. Plenty of beaches for the boys to visit, great playpark not far from the house.

@milliehull, @nelliethehooker, @DSB and others I have missed. Really enjoying all the photos posted, thank you, and hopefully you are all having, and had, a great time away.
Things have been quiet here for a couple of weeks since the visiting dog went home, we did get all the family here for a couple of days when they came to collect him. They came here after another abortive attempt to go up Scafell, our grandson has wanted to do it for a few years, he’s 19 now, our youngest son has done it a few times on charity 3 peaks events but every time they arrange something for Harry the weather intervenes unfortunately. Oh well, one day!We had a lovely few days in Hertfordshire last weekend, seeing our Hong Kong family who were over for a visit and helping eldest Grandson who has moved into a flat share in Greenwich for his last year of his University course. Busy weekend but good to see them all briefly.
We are now getting ready for a visit from the Macau family, they are coming at the weekend for 10 days. They have been travelling around Switzerland, Austria and Germany for a couple of weeks and we are the last stop before they return. Reading between the lines I think it’s been a bit more than they anticipated with 2 little kids - our youngest grandchildren are 6 and 2. I did say - but what do I know!! Hopefully everyone can have a chill out here for a while and we are looking forward to some family time.
Been thinking of you @DavidKlyne. Do hope you are still doing well and will be getting home soon.1 -
Had a lovely surprise, this morning. While I was out for my hospital appointment - our neighbour's children - Stanley (8) and Toby (4) came round with a bottle of wine (supervised by mum!) and a thank you card. Stanley has been saving up for ages for a new BMX bike (he had a new bike not so long ago, but apparently, BMX bikes are now back "in"). He's been earning pocket money from us for feeding the fish while we are away and doing jobs at home. A few weeks ago, I did a deal with him (after discussing with mum and dad), that if he did all the things he had to do before the end of term (spelling tests etc etc), I give him what he was short of to get the bike. Anyway - he did it - and more (which I knew he would!) Bike arrived yesterday - got to say, it's very smart and he's obviously very proud of it. (Don't worry though - we didn't leave Toby out😀)
Mixed result at hospital this morning. Very nice consultant but I have to say he baffled me with science a bit. I didn't realise arthritis was such a complex subject. Although he hasn't yet ruled it out completely, he doesn't think my immune system is attacking my joints. However both hips are shot due to osteoarthritis, as is the bottom of my spine but I have to have some more ultrasound tests before he can completely rule out some form of inflammatory arthritis.
I did ask him how bad it had to be before I was entitled to a Blue Badge and he cheered me up a bit saying that I was more than entitled to have one and he would support my application and will write to my GP accordingly. At least that will make getting about a bit easier.
Sounds like you've had / are having a very busy family time @heddlo . You'll be needing a rest before long!

@richardandros thats a lovely idea with the bike, and well done to Stanley for his hard work. Sorry it’s mixed results with the arthritis, but hopefully you will get sorted at some point. Meantime a Blue Badge will be very handy.
Hope your family meet ups go well @heddlo .
Hoping we might manage a day out tomorrow, Burton Agnes to see the gardens, they are always lovely, and it’s a good place to do with our pooch.

Nice place Christchurch @DSB. We visit occasionally as my brother and SiL live there.
I was wondering how @DavidKlyne was doing as well. Hope he's home and starting to recover.
Had a day to ourselves so we drove along the North Wales coast to Gronant, not far from Prestatyn. This is where you can access the beach area that has the only surviving breeding population of Little Terns in Wales. They'll all be off in 2-3 weeks back to Africa. There's less than 300 of them turn up now. It was an overcast but warm day with a bit of a cool breeze coming in from the Irish Sea. Hardly anyone around even though its school holidays and there is a huge Haven Holiday complex nearby. Took a few photos but none of the birds. They're kept safe from humans. You can see them but you'd need a proper camera to get any shots.
Some Sea Holly was rather striking though.

A damp and grey start this morning but it brightened up mid morning so we decided to go to Norfolk Lavender. The smell was amazing and the bees were very busy. The building used to be a watermill. We bought a couple of small lavender plants and decided to have a snack. The Lavender cake was delicious. It turned into a nice, sunny and warm afternoon so I went for a short walk to the beach while OH had a snooze and I decided to have a paddle. It was surprisingly warm. There were a few people swimming but I dont do sea swimming these days. We finished the day with a drink so OH could have a Guiness.
I love the photo of the Sea Holly @Wherenext There is some on the beach here.
A mixed result @richardandros I hope you get a definite diagnosis soon. Good news about the Blue Badge. I applied online for OH's about 18 months ago and it makes life so much easier as does his Rollater.

Lovely area that @milliehull. I did wonder whether the lavender would still be in flower there as our own lavender now almost gone. The bees and butterflies it attracts have been wonderful. It's just outside the kitchen window and during the summer has been a lovely distraction when on cooking duties. Enjoy the rest of your stay.

I love the Norfolk Lavender Centre, took Mum there the last time we had a holiday in Norfolk, it seems such a long time ago now🥲 We were staying in a huge holiday house in West Runton, a lovely place. If your Lavender is looking a bit past it’s best @Wherenext just take the scissors to the flower heads, down the long stalks, cut off and it will flower again👍 I have just done a lot of mine and it’s coming back with a second flush really well. It’s given a good haircut for Winter late September. More food for bees😁
I am hoping I might get a paddle tomorrow, maybe at Fraisthorpe.

Definitely mixed results, @richardandros but at least you have a good idea what's causing your aches and pains. Hope there is something that can be done to ease them, and having a Blue Badge should make thing a bit easier for you. Lovely that you have such thoughtful neighbours who appreciate how you have helped the young ones.
Good to hear that you had a good day out @Wherenext and to read the news from @heddlo, and @KjellNN too. Hope you have a fine day out at Burton Agnes tda
Lovely photos from @DSB and @milliehull Hope that the rest of your stays have good weather
I especially like the look of the cake @milliehull

Catching up on here, not been on for a while. Been away for a week and then other commitments at home.
Really enjoying seeing all the photos posted and reading about trips out.
@richardandros Sorry to hear about your mixed outcome today, although the Blue Badge should help, so at least that's a positive, hope there will be a definite diagnosis soon and a plan as to what's next.
I too have been wondering how @DavidKlyne is doing, hopefully back home now.
It's an expensive time here at the moment: insurance/breakdown for MH, breakdown for car, MOT on MH tomorrow and roadtax for both MH and car due on 1st of August too. Insurance for MH has rocketed since last year, probably due to both of us having had "milestone" birthdays 🙄 in the end Safeguard offered the best cover at the best price, but it took most of a day to sort out, comparing quotes with what cover was and wasn't included. But that's done now until the next insurance, which will be the car in November.

Excellent day here today we went to Great Yarmouth eventually managed to get a space after a few loops of the town. Had a nice walk along the shore front then Gdaughter wanted a ride on the Big Wheel SWMBO hates those things but didn’t want to say no to gdaughter so closed her eyes for 10 mins and joined us. I loved it got some great pics from the top. Had a fish tea at Harry Ramsdens on the shore front hadn’t been to one of those for years the only one I knew that was still in business was the one in Blackpool so took the opportunity to go again great as it used to be. Had a walk along the pier and enjoyed a pint overlooking the beach. On way back to the car we came across a vintage American car display so got some nice pics and spent some time looking at those i can always sniff out a classic car event hehe. Back to the van and went to the clubhouse for the bingo daughter and SIL won a couple of prizes. Great day not sure plan for tomorrow but forecast is showing rain.

@Francis I admire your OH for going on the big wheel for your granddaughter. I tried the London Eye, son about 15. I'd always done my best not to pass on my fear of heights - developed after having the children. I was a great tree climber growing up! But a stupid woman sat her child on the door handle. Longest time of my life, 20 minutes I seem to recall. Of course quite a few folk in a pod so I had to hold it together.
WWe Holidayed for years based in Swanage when the children were younger, friends joining us some years. @dsb your posts have brought back some wonderful memories @DSB
VVery posh looking feet @milliehull 😆. Flipflops are definitely needed at some of the beaches around Heacham. The lavender was very forward when we were there in June so I'm surprised its only being harvested now. That cake looks, and was when I had it, delicious. The lavender ice cream is pretty good too. No it wasn't the same visit. But it was very handy as a stop off point when passing 😉
Good to read everyone's news. I too have been thinking and wondering about @ddavidklyne. Sending best wishes to him and his OH. @DavidKlyne
NNot much to report here, today, 🤞I should have a window to do some gardening and conditions should be good. I was able to enjoy reflexology on Tuesday. It's been 11 weeks since my previous, normally 4 weekly, because of PF treatment. It was bliss and I feel so much better. No comment on my foot 🥲 except to say I've ordered another type of support with an added adjustable straps..... I see the podiatrist on 11 August.
We've done a dump run this week so that allowed access to 'surplus' items since our move which have now been advertised. If they don't go they'll have to be dumped as charities don't take furniture locally. Where we lived before a charity helped furnish accommodation for ex offenders/rehab recoveries/women who'd escaped abusive relationships so much of my parents home including cutlery and crockery were gratefully received. We had lovely photos of flats prepared showing some of our items. I've yet to find something similar here. Otherwise, we're just jogging along.
I'm growing sweetcorn, for the first time courtesy of seeds from the eldest grandson who gave me the seeds saying I like sweetcorn grandma 🥰. So we planted them in a tub and watched. The recent rain has made them really grow! We may have a harvest......
The dog had her annual vet checkup yesterday, including an ear clean. She was really good, usually ears are off limits or you have to be very swift 😱. She's putting on weight, just 0.3kg in 2 years, which surprises me as she's not food orientated and can go without eating all her dinner several days in a row. I have my suspects treat-wise..... I thought my lack of walking may have been responsible but the vet assured me that's unlikely.
@richardandros rather disappointing news on diagnosis 🤞for ongoing scans. A blue badge may help, I ought to apply for OH.... It's not easy going from be active to walking wounded so I sympathise completely.
Right must start my day properly, have a good day folks.
I'm having intermittent issues with @ and continuing double letters as paragraphs start. I've left them in for illustration purposes.....
Edit @richardandros great to read about Stanley. It takes a village to raise a child. By the sound if it a great little family. I hope Toby enjoyed whatever he had 😉
