I had a go on just one thing.... the 'Deal on No Deal' machine. I won 4 tickets!! To give you some idea.... for 100 tickets you get one tiny (round, sugar) lollipop on a stick. So I guess 4 tickets is the equivalent of me being in the 1p club!! π€£π€£

Belated birthday wishes @DEBSC - sounds like you had a nice day. Pleased to hear that your foot problem is a bit better @Bakers2 . Lovely photos David @DSB and @nelliethehooker. I'm starting to get itchy feel and feeling a little bit frustrated because we aren't going away this month. Still, been waiting long enough for the hospital appointment, so I will be pleased to get that out of the way and hopefully, have some answers as to what's wrong.
Not away again until 14 August which seems ages awayπ’ - however - as posted elsewhere, I have managed to secure a serviced pitch at Sandringham for Christmasπ. Just need to fill in the bits in between!

Thank you for the birthday wishes, I canβt quite believe that Iβm three quarters of a century now. @richardandros hope that your hospital appointment goes well. We have sat in this morning, weβve been watching U Tube and our eldest granddaughters graduation ceremony. She got a 2.1 - same result as her elder brother - but hers is in sociology and criminology. We couldnβt attend so it was lovely to watch it live. Even better, she has actually got a full time job already. Her Dad offered to take them out for lunch so she quickly booked them into the Ivy, not daft that girl. Her Dad told her he was thinking more of McDonaldβs π Itβs warm here but very cloudy, may just stop in today, Iβve got a few good books and feel like just relaxing (a rare thing) I might take a walk by the river later. Possibly a bbq this evening.4

More confusion this morning as a text I received from Boots saying I had a prescription ready for collection turned out to be false but I only found out after making the trip into town to pick them up. They really are making a Pigs Ear out of this.
Matters turned for the better this afternoon as we met up my cousin and her husband for a meal in rural Cheshire. We haven't seen each other for about 4 months so had plenty to catch up on, with plenty of laughs along the way. The meal was great, an Indian curry cooked by an Indian chef in an English pub. I was also touched by the fact that our guests paid for the meal as a belated birthday present for reaching 70 last month.
@Francis - try a Broadside if you get the chance (Adnams).

@Wherenext Iβm sure I will get the chance I will make sure of it hehe
Excellent day here today nice weather so we took a trip to Caister and visited the classic motoring museum there what a wonderful place we were there around 4 hours they have a great selection of cars and motorbikes of all ages from the 1890s right up until the 2000s even had a Mercedes the same as mine lovely example I got chatting to one of the volunteers there who was very helpful and knowledgable about the cars. Admission price also gets you into the grounds of the castle and can walk up the stairs to the tower but we just had a quick run round as we had spent most of the time looking at the cars well I did SWMBO had a quick look then took herself off to look at their collection of porcelain. Came back to the van and cooked on the Cadac still sitting out now enjoying the sun with a pint of Guinness. Think we are going to head down to the club house soon for a drink

More super photos @DSB and @Francis it looks as if you both are having grand trips.
All the best for your hospital appointment @richardandros and fingers crossed that they can find out and sort your problems.
It was good that you were able to watch your granddaughter's graduation ceremony @DEBSC and that she has a job awaiting her.
Today we have much better weather with plenty of sunshine and little wind. We have a nice red sky tonight as hopefully tomorrow will be dry too. We took a walk along the High Peak trail today from the top of Hopton Incline past Harboro' Rocks. There were lots of bees and butterflies, and the occasional dragonfly, on the flowers that line the track.

Looking on my I phone there is a notice of essential maintenance from 21:00 tonight, but I still seem to be able to post using my kindle, is anyone else experiencing any problems posting?

@Francis that looks a good motor museum, one we havenβt visited, so on the list next time we are in Norfolk. We usually go to around a dozen or so Classic Events a year, but only as viewers. I keep telling OH we ought to take something to show. Heβs currently working on our MG, giving it a bit of TLC in terms of body work, and looking to replace dash and steering wheel, some trim.
Have you heard of The Motorist? Itβs a big cafe cum classic workshop not far from Sherburn in Elmet, and they hold regular themed meets through the year. Itβs worth a visit anyway, as the food is excellent, there are some fantastic vehicles in the cafe and adjacent show room, and itβs where they often film some of the Bangers and Cash Restoration programme, so thereβs always something going on in the workshops. One MG, in bitsπ€ We bought it in 1994 and it was my every day work car for a while. We didnβt use it as much when we had three dogs, as it was impossible to get us all in, so it led a quieter life after 2000, now having a bit of TLC. OH is not relishing putting the windscreen back on, apparently an absolute nightmare to do.

@Takethedogalong the classic shows are great itβs good to be in the show to exhibit as you get to chat to a lot of people to be honest thatβs the one of the only reasons i have my Mercedes itβs my βshow carβ and I love taking it to shows. You would get a lot of interest in the MG Iβm sure. Thanks for the recommendation I will look at the motorist. When you are down this way do visit the Caister museum it was great Iβm sure you both would love it as it had a wide variety of cars we have been to many car museums and that one was in the top 5 for me

I much prefer the smaller Museums, have done the one in Bourton and another little gem was in Moretonhampstead up on Dartmoor. Only small but lots to look at and full of memorabilia as well. It closed I think last year, the owner was getting on, but sadly I donβt think he has found a buyer. We went round Mathewsonβs years ago before they were famous, but their set up is very different now. OH likes what I call βgreasy bitsβ shows, lots of spares, etcβ¦. I usually take a book and chill out in MH on those days. I go βcar blindβ after half an hour these days. Our MH would fit into the VW Camper classes though, so he could view, while I chillπ€£

@Bakers2 sadly, the Birkenstock experiment hasnβt worked for meβΉοΈ Too big, or too small in terms of sizing, and to be honest, I wasnβt completely sure they would be suitable for my Plantar, they seemed very flat. But, thankfully an easy returns via Evri, so I shall resume the search for something to replace my current βhouse shoesβ.

It's been mizzling most of the day but warm. Decided to Puriclean the water system. Will tackle the waste water tank tomorrow..
We were supposed to have a visit from the Paint man today. It appears he forgot about his hospital appointment. Mmm..π€« So yet another delay especially as he is now away on his holidays for 2 weeks. Last chance Saloon.
Plenty of weeding to be done this coming weekend. Schools finish for the Summer tomorrow so anyone heading into Wales tomorrow night be aware that it will probably be more manic than usual.

Oh that's a whatsit @takethedogalong @Takethedogalong . Do have a look at Hotter.
I wish I'd not said anything about my foot...... It's been really really uncomfortable again, last night I could barely put it to the ground. Back to support 24 hours a day and votarol at bedtime π’π’π’π’π’
Very humid here since lunchtime. I drove out about 8 miles into neighbouring Northamptonshire this morning for a couple of plants, garden help here today. As I started the incline out of the village, a few mizzle spots landed on the windscreen. It got steadily worse and by the time I arrived it was a nice and gentle rain. Stopped as I headed back. Thought the boys won't believe this. But it was mizzling here as i got back.Nothing of any use and didn't stop work. Sprinkler is on now!
TTrying To rest said foot, but did do some repotting as I was able to sit for bits of it.
I see we're in a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain tomorrow and Saturday I think DIL was hoping to start combining today.....
@Wherenext I do hope you can get your paint job done. In the great scheme of things just niggles, but oh sooooo annoying π€π‘

@takethedogalong We visited the museum at Moretonhampstead the last time we were in Devon 3 years ago (at your recommendation) was a great day out good museum and the owner gave us a guided tour I did read it has now closed down hope all the cars went to good homes. Also visited the one in Bourton when we were staying at Broadway a couple of years ago. Like you we had visited Mathewsons many times over the years before they were famous but we still go now although the garage in Thornton le Dale is basically just a gift shop now but we always visits when in the area and usually end up spending money in the shop also met Derek a few times and heβs always had time to stop and have a chat.

Great day out today very warm and mostly sunny. Went to Sandringham a place we have always wanted to go to we had visited Balmoral a few years ago and always wanted to do sandringham. Ended up there most of the day done the tour of the house was great to see some of the rooms and the dining room where the family have Christmas dinner even saw the Kings char complete with his favourite cushion. The staff within the house were very helpful and knowledgable about the rooms and the items within them. After a walk round the grounds and the maze we done (the walk) that the family do on Christmas Day and visited the church. This part was a highlight for me as we watch them each Christmas morning attending church so was great to see this in real life. Great place would go back if ever back in this area and the gardens are beautiful. Also saw some of the cars the family have used over the years. Picked up fish and chips on way back to the van. Now just relaxing for a while but may venture down to the club house later for a pint

No rain at all here @Bakers2 !! Although it got more and more hot and humid as the afternoon progressed. Must be very localised. I am holding off watering this evening as heavy rainstorms forecast over the weekend. We shall see .... So sorry to hear about your foot.
Sounds like a wonderful day out Francis. We love Sandringham. We need to investigate how to access the house now OH has mobility issues and a Blue Badge. We used to stay on the club site there on our 3/4 week tour of Norfolk - Norfolk Broads site, Seacroft and then Sandringham. Happy memories.
We are going to a funeral tomorrow - early start as it is 9.00amπ₯Ί. I have ironed OH's white shirt and made sure his suit is in good order - not often worn these days. I have also sorted out a suitably sombre dress for me - I dont really do black these days.

You had a super day out by the looks of your photos @Francis we have stayed on the C&CC Site there on a few occasions but never been in the house or grounds as we have always had our dog with us,but have walked miles around the woods and estate.
Sorry to hear that your foot is p!aying up again @Bakers2 , hope that the pain eases off quickly.
You are not having much luck with your painter chappie, @Wherenext not a very satisfactory situation all round!
We had rain through the night but it was dry although cloudy when we got up, so we got packed up in the dry. Mist and fine drizzle came over just as we were leaving but we drove out of it eventually and it was fine and rather warm when we arrived at Ebury Hill. OH took the opportunity to get a round of washing done as soon as we had set up, with it out on the whirrly by 3:00 and dry before 6:00. Site is quiet, and we were able to get the very pitch we were hoping for.

I tried to post this last night but got the "essential maintenance " message. Does any one know what this is, from my walk yesterday afternoon?

Do you get into CT via the main site @nelliethehooker? I dipped into CT just before 11pm last night and it was still open but I go directly in, leaving it open.
A calm day here. Filled the waste water tank this morning and did some weeding after a bout of rain overnight made the soil workable. Also acquainted myself with how to hang knickers on the line, a new skill for me or at least one I've not practised in ages.π I didn't know they were hiding with some towels that needed hanging. The ladies went out for a stroll around the village about 90 minutes ago. It's my own fault as I was told to leave the washing until OH came back but she's doing a lot lately.

@Wherenext I did laugh at your comment re washing OH had some new Boxers arrive yesterday via Amazon and I hand washed them today to check for colour run all ok odd to find that they were made in Somerset, not getting you name in red heyho.
Very warm again this afternoon after a cloudy start hopefully it should cool down from tomorrow and it is the village fete for the next two days.
We have had the workers down the road doing the digging and putting new water pipe in they have been starting at 7am and finishing at 3pm yesterday as too hot and today off for the weekend so hope they will get to us next week and of course the road partly closed and the locals confused as trying to get through heyho.
Have a good weekend folks and keep cool.

Just catching up with all the posts. Lovely to see all the photos....
Went to Budleigh Salterton yesterday. A bit cooler temperature and a little cloudy, but managed to spend l time overlooking the sea....
Spent yesterday evening having a meal at the place where our youngest daughter is a chef.... and today we packed up and moved from Lutts Corner to Hunter's Moon, Wareham, for the last 'leg' of our first summer outing.... π

Excellent day here today I was up early and away a cycle by the time I got back it was heating up and by lunch time was 27 degrees. We spent the morning around the van then headed in to Sheringham for the afternoon lovely place lots of nice little shops and pubs. Went a walk along the shore front looking at the nice little beach huts all along there lots of people out swimming and on the beach enjoying the weather. Also had a wander around the train station think we will go on the heritage train next week at some point. We then took a table outside the Crown Inn and had a pint overlooking the sea Sheringham was great will try and get back there before we leave here. Cooked dinner on the Cadac and sat out enjoying the sun as weather is due to change overnight. Daughter Gdaughter and SIL have arrived in their camper to join us for the next week so wonβt be relaxing as much but will be good spending time with them and we will be kept on our toes with gdaughter who has just turned 13. Not sure of plans for tomorrow will see what the weather brings.
@DSB great pics look is like you are having a good time
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

@Wherenext it was the night before last. I access directly on my Kindle as I leave the link open, but on the phone I have to go through the CC's Web page, however I still do not have to sign in again.

Some more super photos from both @DSB and @Francis glad you both are enjoying your selves. Hope everyone else are also having a good time this weekend.
It has been another fine day, very hot and stuffy at times too. We visited one of our favourite NT properties, Attingham Hall, where we always enjoy the woodland walk and through the estate.
This is the Repton Oak, planted in 1370, so is over 650 yrs old.
We came across another very interesting tree, an old Sweet Chestnut, when we were walking at Ilam Hall the other day, (but I was unable to post the photo then because of "essential maintenance "!!)

Great photos @nelliethehooker, and @DSB You both look like you are having great holidays with good weather. I love the photos of the trees @nelliethehooker. I am glad you enjoyed Sheringham @Francis. We think it is a lovely little town. Did you catch the bus? We usually do but you can also park at Tescos for 2 hours for free.
The funeral yesterday went well. There was a good turnout so it was good to see some people we hadnt seen for a while. Lots of memories shared. We have known our friend and his wife for years and had some great holidays together some years ago before he became ill.
No rain here yet despite all the yellow and amber weather warnings.

Fantastic photos of the trees @nelliethehooker and Sherringham @Francis... weather still looking good, although forcasr isn't looking for the next few days. Glad all was OK for the funeral @milliehull, and that you had the oppertunity to catch up with folk.

It's started raining here π. Naturally I slept in! So the novelty of a wet dog walk, if she wants, as heat has made her less enthusiastic of late. Checked the rain radar, we're coming under yellow, possibly a bit of pink π. At the moment it just nice and steady - just what we need, but too late for the farmers π₯². Don't want it to lay the crops! DIL started harvest Wednesday.
@milliehull should be with you shortly! I'm glad the funeral went well and was well attended. It's lovely to catch up with folks we've known for years but not seen for a long time.
We went into the city yesterday, building society visits. I think we're all sorted now. It was 29c and I questioned my sanity. However, once into the 1st it was fine, on the way to the 2nd π₯΅ OH suggested getting something to eat no hesitation! Business done in 2nd and into Cote. All blissfully air-conditioned and no cooking π. Another admin morning. All expiring bonds now have new homes, some with a decent fixed rate! So need to update the list for use by whoever needs it, after our demise or decline!, as so much doesn't have paperwork! Actually the latter is one consideration we use when contemplating new accounts.....
The rain is easing now. Son phoned during the typing of this, they live in village south of us only drizzle and nothing since 5am until 30 mins ago.
Have a lovely day folks and may the weather be as you'd like it for yourself!
EEdit Meant to say we parked in one of the multistorey on the shady side. Car thermometer read 31 on our return π₯΅π₯΅ had debated whether to use an open carpark - I think we made the right call.... cost was immaterial π
