Well done. Marvellous job! OH was one of the first to get the covid jab. There were so many there who said that it was the first time they had been out since last March. They were all so very grateful.

Best Wishes to all who have been ailing this w/end, to each I can only say I hope you and yours are perking up as the new working week starts !
KjellNN, special wishes for you ~~ don't forget to build up a good stock of zzz's cos I think you might, just might, have to train a Callum mkII in the not too distant future.
Millie, I've had a chat with a friend of mine who has been shielding her OH for 12 months now ~~ He had plenty of his tummy area replaced a few years ago but is still classed as Extremely Vulnerable. You would never realise how chirpy she is with regard to the vaccine roll-out ~~ think she might spend days in the different s/markets instead of the tiny ALDI at the end of the road when the restrictions ease enough.

A quiet weekend here - my husband's monthly weekend off, so with the alarm off, the days started very late. We didn't do much - but when tidying the sitting room (not used since Christmas, and then only for storing presents) we were rewarded with a full sealed "tin" of Celebrations!
As we had no justifiable reason to go out in the car we had a tour round all the farm in the Gator. The ground was still very hard after the recent cold weather (and I can hear the tractor and slurry tanker making the most of it now).
We weren't on the Bird Watch, but here's a photo of one of our Barn Owl nest boxes. An unobstructed entrance for the owl to swoop into.

Congratulations to KjNelln and family on the arrival of the young man. Hopefully all will be together under one roof very swiftly and the fun can begin 😀🍼🍾
Good to read you've had a weekend off Goldie. Nice find in Celebrations, we have a new tin too, along with 2 boxes of M&S chocolate biscuits, which were for sharing but if we can't mix ...............
No snow and not as many hours of rain as forecast for the weekend here. Still very soggy ground and another dull damp start to the day.
Didn't bother with bird watch this year. Still little eating from our hanging feeders compared to before Christmas when daily top ups were required! It seems our entire flock of sparrows who nested and lived in our conifer, upwards of 30, have disappeared, not seen or heard them for more than a week 😢😢. Even our starling numbers have gone down. Had a few lookouts but nothing worth noting over either days. We still have the blackbirds, robins, various tits, goldfinches, etc but they never arrived together!!
New toilet in and no additional work required 👍slightly bigger footprint on the floor and same cistern came with the toilet and the flush is far superior. Glad Dora was out for boiler fitting, much easier to contain her downstairs as only front door needed to be used for toilet fitting, but she was uneasy anytime the guy moved 😱 and it seemed much colder as door open more it seemed......
Enjoy your day folks

Freddy, there's a nice small National Trust site at Houghton Mill (formerly run by the club) alongside the Great Ouse with a lovely old mill and tea shop alongside. Lots of walks. We enjoyed a stay there and I think Millie has been a few times. Worth a look? Houghton Mill LINK

Progress B2! Hope your eye is also improving. Goldie, comes to something when a forgotten tin of chocolates raises your spirits in these strange times...

Another day of mud here but whilst I'm typing this I'm looking out at a big camellia full of bright pink flowers, it has survived recent frosts so at least that's something cheerful. 🌸
Got up early to send an e gift card to grandson...another learning curve as the one I chose was complicated to say the least.

Not sure about the Barbados trip Rufs, but Sir Tom has had an unwanted touch of pneumonia tho'.
Gorgeous looking day in the County Palatine, but I've not ventured out to check ~~ likely to be off into town sh-sh-shopping soon enough, now where's that thermal mask n' scarf

this was in December
"Captain Tom Moore has jetted off to Barbados on a well-deserved holiday"
but good luck to him, unfortunately according to news reports he has not had the vaccination as he was on some other medication so was not allowed

Good for you🙂 There were lots of folks helping when I took OH for his last night. If I didn’t have Mum to look after, I might have put a few hours in as well. We certainly said a big thank you to all. The fellow on the car park looked absolutely frozen last night, but he still had a big smile for everyone.
Dishwasher has arrived. We have celebrated with a sticky porridge pan!

moulesy,
We stayed on this site in February 2017 but it was then a CS. As it was February we didn't have a great choice in that area ( not sure why we even went to that area!). Alpacas were great, the village is nice but our abiding memory is simply noise, noise and more noise.
Although we knew that the airport was nearby we didn't realise at the time that the East Midlands Airport is predominantly used by freight aircraft. The site is directly under the flight path which is great for plane spotters but the major problem was they flew definitely up to midnight and again at the crack of dawn. If memory serves me right they also flew all night long. We wore ear plugs all night long without much success. It was horrendous.
One of the few sites we would never ever return to.

I sympathise with the chap in the car park I have done a few of those stints. Last time it was a bit below 0 C and hissing down. I just kept moving escorting people in and out under a big brolly. Brass monkeys have my sincere sympathy

If you believe the news and papers the caravan/motorhome industry is in for a good year this year. We have been on this morning and booked the sites for trips we are hoping to get this year as it seems sites are filling up already. So far we have dates booked for April, May,July and August.

A lovely cold but windless day and with snow forecast tomorrow so took advantage with a ride eastwards to the Tanfield Railway. Just one of those great days out that just happens.
The world's oldest railway apparently and certainly the world's oldest engine shed. It's well worth a visit if anyone is staying in the area with trains running during the season.

Congrats to the Kj family on their new arrival

Its a do nothing much kind of day today.
Grey skies but no rain or snow yet but we are on a yellow warning for some tomorrow and Wednesday.
We had a nice day yesterday so took a drive then walk along the river Tay in town. Saw a far few folk looking over the river wall and pointing. Got a real surprise when we got close enough to see it was a family of otters playing in the river
. OH has lived here all his life but can't remember ever hearing or seeing otters in this part of the Tay before. We followed them down stream from the north inch to the south inch, as did many folk. They looked to be having a great time diving for food then coming up onto their backs to eat what ever it was they caught, what a lovely surprise.Todays walk wasn't as interesting but it was a nice walk out the top of the village into the farm lands, once up the road you are surrounded by hills, all of course covered in snow.
Such a shame for the ski resorts here this year, they have loads of snow and because the temps have been so low it has stayed on the hills. No one allowed to go skiing though

Thanks for all the good wishes, I can report that Mummy and baby returned home today, and all seems well.
We were looking after Callum as Daddy had a visiting "slot" 10.30-11.30, but nobody knew whether they would be allowed home. However, he was checked over by multiple doctors and at midday we got a message to say they were all on the way home.
Callum got to meet him first, then we were allowed to hold him. He is tiny, you do forget how small a newborn baby is, but he has quite big hands and feet, and long fingers.
When we left, he was sleeping peacefully, that may not last!
Still no word from my GP re vaccination.

Good to hear the family are home safely KJ, hope the new arrival makes good progress. They will be busy!
We finally had a phone call from our surgery for our jabs, got to wait till the 9th and travel a few miles but after the debacle of neighbours jumping the queue it was a relief to get the call.
That sounded like a nice walk TG, especialy seeing the otters.

Due to one of our grandson's solo 21st birthday today we did a whatsapp video call as he celebrated in the kitchen with his Mum and Dad, not the "coolest" of birthdays but we'd all sent things to make it a bit more fun. 🎈 👕

Kj Glad to hear the new arrival is home and all is well. My BIL got the call today from his GP to make an appointment, he goes on Thursday. Tayside health board are starting sending out invites to the over 70s and the over 65s
so we might not have to wait to long.As we were not doing much today I finally got the OH to sit down and plan some sites for April
I've been sorting stuff in my head for awhile now but we have now booked 1 site and 3 CLs. Now to start on May
Brue good to hear you've had the call to get yours.

So glad to hear that Mum and baby are home and doing well KjellNN. I hope you hear about your vaccine appt soon. Our eldest son, who is clinically vulnerable and shielding, got a text from his GP surgery with an invite to book a test - hooray. A few minutes later he got a text cancelling the invitation and said he will get another invitation at a later date ☹. I can only presume that they might have not got the expected delivery of vaccine.
What a lovely surprise on your walk TG. It sounds like a great walk.
After a damp and grey start the day soon brightened up so we went for a walk around one of the local nature reserves. Sadly no otters but a lovely family of swans - mum, dad and 4 'teenage' cygnets and a group of potchards. We popped into the local village on our way back to get a couple of books from the bookstall in the foyer of the pub.

Fairly productive day here for us this morning I had my 4 monthly phone call with consultant (always a worry) good news all blood tests taken last week were good levels etc as they wanted so good news may get pushed out to 6 monthly calls now so fingers crossed for that. We then decided to go out a walk got half a mile from the house and had a phone call from local surgery to ask if I wanted the vaccine if so could I go up there at half 3 so of course I said yes so I got the Oxford one touch wood so far feel fine although they did say there could be some side effects over the next couple of days so will wait and see. I don’t qualify through the age range but get it due to an underlying health condition SWMBO who is older than me has to wait a bit longer yet although being almost 66 she hopefully won’t be too long. We then booked some sites in the hope we may get away in the van in the not too distant future hopefully give us all something to look forward to.
