What are you all up to

Hope your not kept waiting to long Kj.
Brue the chair sounds like a challenge, I'd love to do something like that, I know they have courses at our college.
Hallway decorating going well, 4 of the 6 door frames done along with the meter cupboard. Final 2 to be glossed tomorrow.
We've had rain on and off today, weather forecast for Saturday night isn't looking great -15c at Dalwhinnie and -13c at Achnasheen. Think we will be -3 brrr
Heard our GP practice has been getting supplies of the vaccine at last and hope to finish the over 80s this weekend. Over 70s starting on Wednesday ☺

I echo those wishes Kj.
Had a lovely long walk this morning in the dry. Rain set in this afternoon and we are threatened with snow for both tomorrow and Sunday with minus temps overnight and maybe even during Sunday. They did say snow might not arrive until lunchtime tomorrow so will have to get out early.
We've got another 3 weeks at least of lockdown after FMs announcement today. Oh well.

Thanks, everyone, for all the good wishes, nothing happening as yet!
I have a feeling we will either still be locked down, or back with the tier system, even by Easter, so will probably not be able to take up the tentative site bookings we have made as we were in tier 4 previously.
Also worried about being away when the second vaccination appointments are sent out We would however be back home before the 12 weeks expires.
OH is now planning a June/early July trip, no problem getting a pitch on the relevant CAMC sites, just unhappy with the prices! I think we will be looking at CLs and CCC sites instead for many of our stops.

Also worried about being away when the second vaccination appointments are sent out
Kjell, the MiL has her second appointment. it was made at the time of the vaccination. It's actually 11 weeks from the first one so if they do things the same up there you should have a firm date.

Good to hear the boiler installation went well but sorry you have other things to think about concerning your eyes. I do hope you get a favourable response from the hospital, sounds like they are looking after you!
And good luck with the toilet, if that's the right word?!

Whereas fine here we will be contacted in due course to book the second appointment.
Not that it matters as I don’t anticipate going away for several months yet.

Thank you brue.
Rather shocked, to put it mildly, to receive a phone call asking me to attend the emergency eye clinic at local hospital immediately if possible at 1730 this evening! They were very good as I said I'd have to arrange transport, taxi, she was very good and understood my shock and surprise.
Taxi sorted arrived before I was fully ready with coat and handbag. Hospital phoned back as promised to see if I could get there, if not I'd have to go Monday, by which time I was on my travels.
2 lots of drops, wait whilst pupils dilate, another very thorough check including something put actually in my eye that looked like a old fashioned penny lick, which was turned gently to check all angles. Wonderful lady doctor, no worries but given things to watch for and back to them immediately if it happens 😱.
Opticians and doctor thought it might be retinal migraine, which you can get without headache. Think the headache might be arriving.......
Still recovering from taxi fare, but small price to pay!
Indoors - clothes washed and self showered and hair washed. Luckily I'd got easy dinner ready because of boiler work which OH managed to get ready whilst I travelled home and showered etc.
And so to bed.......

As far as we have heard, we have to wait for a letter to be sent out, or at least OH does, I have no idea what I will have to do as I am supposed to be being dealt with by our GP, who still does not seem to have received any supplies of vaccine.
11weeks......we should still be back by then.......if we go. The jury is still out on that.

What a shock for you Bakers2. I am glad you had such good treatment though. What a few weeks you have had. I hope today's installation goes as well as yesterday's.
Very wet here again. We are waiting to see if the rain turns to sleet and snow. We had an extremely muddy walk yesterday round another series of old brick pits that is now a nature reserve. This one is a huge area but could only get round a small part of it because of the floods. This area was littered with brick pits when I moved here when I was in my teens. All gone now. We watched a very good online lecture about Katharine of Aragon last night to mark the anniversary of her burial at Peterborough Cathedral.
I havent been given a date for my 2nd vaccination. I was told the GP surgery will contact me nearer the time whereas OH had his at the hospital and was given both dates at the same time

Good news for you Rufs.
Started the day with rain and looks like it will continue. Put a malt loaf together in the breadmaker and will look forward to the results for Saturday tea. I don't know about anyone else but we're eating a lot of extras here and I'm wondering if I'll fit into some of my clothes later on...

Well, that early morning walk was off the menu when I looked out of the window. Wet Snow with a brisk wind. Walked to the paper shop. Enough. Now turned to rain.
Feels like a Beef Stew made with Guinness type of day. Don't eat a lot of meat but today certainly feels like the right day for it.
We're trying very hard to avoid the "extras" Brue. It can be so easy to lapse. I was going to make some Scones but I looked at the ingredients and thought better of it.

Still no progress with baby brother. Having been told to come to the hospital at 08.30, DD is now hanging around waiting for a bed to become vacant.
Once she has a bed, they will give her whatever to get things started, but meantime she has to stay there rather than being allowed to wait at home, which is not so good as she has to fend for herself as far as food is concerned.SIL has come home as he is not allowed in the hospital until she has a bed, and it is too cold to hang about outside. There was apparently some mention that a bed might be available around 6pm!
Looks like it could well be tomorrow before the babe arrives.
Granny is with Callum, so we will take over from her mid afternoon.
Sounds like we will be needing our sleeping bags!0 -
Hopefully yous don’t have too long to wait now KJ.
Sunny day here but quite windy and bitterly cold. I went out and gave the Volvo a wash as it was filthy one good thing about this lockdown is that the car isn’t getting used as much as normal so hopefully the tyres etc should last longer than normal. Gave the garage a quick clean out too but too cold now so back indoors with a nice warm mug of coffee.
Hope everyone else has a nice weekend

We also had our vaccination letters today. Website pretty straightforward but doesn't reserve selected appointment until you press confirm which means to have to go back in several times. Couldn't get appointments together so Margaret and I are two hours apart for first and second injections. We might just turn up together and see if they can do us at the same time!!!

That is not good if she has to fend for herself for food? when i was waiting and also DIL for beds ,a" trolley dolly" was for ever coming round asking if any drinks or snack including sandwiches were wanted ,and all complementary

Vaccination letters for both of us arrived today. We logged on and booked the shopping centre in town ( from a choice of venues) next Sunday and the website automatically brought up some dates 12 weeks on, so booked another Sunday (being the only day we know we won’t be busy).

Decent day here today, still very cold but no rain or snow.
I finished the last of the gloss work in the hallway before lunch☺
OH doesn't do gloss work so he got the pleasure of stripping the bed and putting the washing machine on. If there is one good thing to have come out of lockdown its that OH has at last learnt how to do certain tasks in the house
After lunch while the sun was still out we took a walk, one that we haven't done in years. Down the hil to the river Tay to the old mill. Some of its been converted into a museum, while the rest have been turned into luxury flats. Some of the out buildings also flats and offices. The Mens Shed is also down there in one of the out buildings. We had a lovely walk around all that then followed the river up stream for a bit. We saw about 5 fishermen stood in the river, made me cold just watching them😂
Good news our elderly neighbours had a visit from the district nurse to give them their vaccines. ☺
Like Kj my sister and BIL still not had a letter.
Hope the toilet fitting went well Bakers2
Kj fingers crossed for a bed for DD.

Yippee, OH has just been asked to book. Got his slot tomorrow, half a mile away. Such a relief. It won’t change what we do, who we see, but it’s good news for him.🤩

Still no progress, but she did at least get a bed to rest in late afternoon, just not a bed in the ward yet, so she has not yet been hooked up to the drip. She also got some dinner.
SIL is planning an early night as he may (hopefully!) get called out in the middle of the night.

We are all here waiting with you K😁

Same with us for your first sentence, TW, and we've booked sites in anticipation of heading off after we get our second jab, which should be before the end of March.

Very careful weight checks take place chez ABM, brue it gives my exercise routine a little bonus { up two three / down two three find my specs and do it all again
} only a pointer-width increase so still likely to get the standard roasting should any Nurse get involved 'cos they are forever advising that a lost weight is actually a gain for health. I'm renowned to be a tad dense when such weird comments are made though. any way it's well after my permitted snooze time, so nite nite y'all

Well ABM the malt loaf only just made it, OH is "doing" the kitchen and yesterday found an electric cable of no known origin in the boiler room. So he told me he was switching off the electricity to track it up in the roof and I forgot the bread maker was on. It is programmed to remember the cooking process for 10 mins. So having lost this time and more I retrieved it and put the pan and contents in the oven and it turned out OK. So we had some fresh from the oven, at least it's fat less till you put the butter on it.

To offset that we're going out for a walk as it was just too wet and muddy yesterday.
PS I'm only on here to here to see if there is a new arrival. I do hope the KJ family have some good news today.

" It's fat less till you put the butter on it "
Hmm, Wonder if the Nurse would accept THAT from yours truly ??Don't worry Brue, I'd never tell 'em who told me that particular fact of life

P.S.
Its so very quiet on here today, I keep checking for incoming e-mails, new posts, State of emptiness of bird feeders etc etc.
Do hope KjellNN's family is in good order and numbers now

Very quiet here as well ABM. No emails, no posts on here and the birds are keeping a low profile because it's Garden Bird Watch weekend.
Yes I also hope that KjellNN's family have had some good news by now.

They are indeed Millie. It’s been a lovely day here, cold and frosty, but most of our regular bird visitors must be staying in, keeping warm. The squirrels however.......😂
