Few more 'Home Cuts ' likely before the Hairdressers / Barbers get released it seems  !!  Another five  ( 5 ) weeks minimum it seems according to the little news I have heard today { too busy washing n tumble drying  clothes }  Sure as heck nobody needs a search around me for hair -- only one hair cut so far in the C19 days, but I do trim, badly, the beard  just to make mask wearing tolerable sealed

Common sense seems to be prevailing with regard to the jabs - at least around here.  Ros's friend, aged 70 and who had major heart surgery over a year ago spoke to her consultant, yesterday, and when asked if she had been invited for a jab, said "no".  Within the hour - not only did she receive an invitation to attend but so did her 68 year old husband.  Don't begrudge them 'jumping the queue', in the slightest - she's been shielding since long before this virus emerged because of her delicate health situation and hopefully it will give her some modicum of protection.

Brue - couldn't resist posting this one of 3 of Ros's daughters cats.  Brought home from CPL when grandaughter was doing her D of E Award with them - 3 weeks old and had to be fed every 4 hours to survive - look at them now.  They live in their 'zoo' as we call it - with another cat, mad cocker spaniel and two hamsters!!

Lovely photo R&R, have to say that my photo only contains one cat the other is our little rescue dog who is smaller than the cat but rules the roost. Hence the evening truce. wink

It's good to hear of sensible vacc decisions, my sister was due hers after my BIL so they agreed to do them together. My two elderly sibling neighbours had to make separate journeys in bad weather on an empty community bus.

Just waiting for ours and the neighbours food delivery arriving any minute!

    1. R&R such beautiful cats. We only have 1 now - he is 18 years old - his sister died last May and after being sad and depressed for a while he is now enjoying having our full attention and makes sure he gets it at all times! Your cat doesnt look too happy about the 'truce' brue. What has Tomasz done (or not doneundecided) with his hair!! He used to look so smart. Is he going for the 1970s look?
    2. I am pleased to hear that common sense is prevailing over the jabs in some areas.
    3. I dont know where these bullet point numbers have come from

Yes the German newspaper Bild has been singing the praises of Brexit for some time now, however, it is quite a serious situation , e.g. Madrid have stopped vaccinations due to a shortage and will not get a new supply for 10 days undecided but

the old soldier (ex Sgt Major) who passes by every day to get his newspaper was in a a real jovial mood this morning as he will get his vaccine tomorrow, felt really pleased for him, his wife survived quite a bad attack of covid before xmas, he is 78 so should be our turn soon.laughing

Still no contact from GP re vaccination, perhaps I should go in with OH and ask if I can have mine too, would save us making an extra trip out.

I did that with the flu vaccination, we had dates about 2 weeks apart, and they agreed then.

Grey and wet here again, but not as cold as yesterday.

Nothing much happening this week, but next week we have the new bathroom basin arriving, finally,  then a Waitrose delivery, if we have made enough room in the freezer for the  chicken etc, and an electricity provider switch at the guide hall to obtain meter readings for.

Also need to pack a bag and lay out our sleeping bags in case we need to go and look after Callum overnight when baby brother decides to arrive.

Last day at work for DD tomorrow, and last day at nursery for Callum for a while as he will lose his "key worker parent" place once Mummy is available to look after him.  Nurseries up here are otherwise closed at present.

Window men arrived late but maybe just as well as the rain stopped. Hate having workmen in and out of the house. Still, only self to blame for ordering them.

The ladies have decamped to the outside and gone for a walk as the sun is trying hard to come through.

Had a chat recently with near neighbour. He was moaning about being in lockdown. They haven't been on holiday for the last 20 years so I asked what was different.

"It's my decision not to go away but now I can't even choose NOT to go away!"  was his succinct reply. I know what he means as well.😂

Yes, Rocky - I have been known to pop in there once or twice (well, quite a few times, actually!!)wink He was my supply of that lovely African hardwood - but I think I cleaned him out last time I was there!!

Like you - I also like making walking sticks and visiting Keith (The Stickman) is a must whenever I'm in Helmsley.

laughinglaughing  no it was intentional tongue-out

Tried to post last night but got the 'essential maintenance' message.

More painting started today, this time the hallway, we have 6 door ways in there and I'm doing all the door frames. We don't have to do the doors as they are recently new and we had them lacquered prior to them being fitted. The doors are light oak.

Rain for us today, snow on the higher ground.

About time, someone needs to sort her out. Typical politician she never answers a question, she does like the sound of her own voice though.

She's been asked again today where all the vaccine is, still evading the answer. Also complaints that at the mass vaccination place in Glasgow much younger folk are getting done while GPs are still struggling to get enough vaccine to do the over 80s.  The official line she keeps spouting is 'we are on track, the care homes are practically finished and the over 80s are 60% done' considering there is just 8 days until they are supposed to all be done its pushing it.

Sorry for not getting back sooner, I’ve been quite unwell of late.

Have you listened to any of the Lol Robinson and Hazey Jane ll or the Philosopher's Stone albums?

I’ve never even heard of them. Next time I’m in the mood for some music, I’ll look them up on Spotify 👍

Hopefully Boris will confiscate Nippy voice box save us having to listen to her go on and on and on and on lol I better say no more of my comment may be deemed political hehe

Decorating finally finished just need the carpet now but every thing else is done and I must say I’ve done a good job of it.

Letter in today to say my vaccine appointment will be made shortly I’m not in the age group they are doing at the moment but will be in the next batch due to an underlying health condition SWMBO who is older than me will have to wait a bit longe lol.

Sounds like some progress on the vacc front for some...

Sorry to hear you've not been well Freddy.

Should be outside today doing things but am having a slump!

OH is having a break from painting, he insisted on using the strongest smelling gloss paint available and I think it's even knocked the dog for six.

Very mild but I'm not being deceived as I've seen the weather maps. I'm still doing the old chair seat, very slowly.

Beautiful cats (love your photo as well brue). Reminds me of raising our three cats, all rescues. First one, Sid, I found as a very tiny kitten at work. One of a feral litter, Mum never came back, so home he came to live with our Rottweiler. Fed with a pipette first, then weaned onto solids. He was coal black, a beautiful friendly little soul. He died at just 18 months, despite being inoculated etc.... of feline enteritis. Vets said it was probably in his blood from birth being feral. Then came our second rescued kitten, another male called Platini. He was a real outdoor cat, neutered but still a fighter, although very gentle with us and the dogs. They loved him. Had him until he was 13. We got our last cat to be with Platini, a gorgeous Ginger puss. (They loathed each other🤣) His mother died when he was only a few weeks old, so we had to hand rear him. He was a house cat, hated going very far in garden. Never caught a thing in his life, but that ginger coat gave a hint of his nature. He’d bite you first, then say hello. He was 21 years old when he died. He commenced touring in caravan aged 19, but a ruddy nightmare to be honest. Liked to wake up at night and do “wall of death” inside van😱 Persuaded Sis to have when we went away in his last year.

Not sure about your news, but ours today shows Boris at a new facility in Scotland for vaccinations opened by the British Army apparently there are 80 in total but not sure as to which region, we do have similar problems in England, but I think we are on track for 15th Feb for over 70's/vunerable, provided them over there dont throw their toys out of the pram and steal our vaccines. undecided, apparently they have sent some officials into the sites in Belgium to sus out what is going on, next they will have the troops out to commandere our supplies.yell

Can't stop chuckling at the 'wall of death' description, TTDA!  Those three kittens were also fed from pipettes and, bearing in mind daughter is a school teacher and is / was having to cope with all the disruption of Covid whilst still working - and getting up in the middle of the night to feed them - she was exhausted.  The original plan was that they would go back to the CPL for re-homing - but when it came to it, she just couldn't bear to part with them.  So - they've landed on their feet, so to speak - as cats do!

We had a labrador, number 13 puppy, so hand reared and their were tears from the farmer's teenage daughter when we went to collect him. We always felt she should have had him but maybe it wasn't possible and being a labrador he'd have trotted off with anyone who had a food bowl. wink

The venue looked to be a sports hall and is in Castlemilk, on the south-east side of Glasgow.

Did not watch the FM's briefing today, but it does seem many GPs are not getting the vaccine they need as yet, while I read this morning that  others in their late 50s and early 60s are somehow already being vaccinated in some areas of Ayrshire.

I (78) would have no problem attending our vaccination hub,  which is in the local leisure centre, or going to the Louisa Jordan down in town, but have been told I need to wait for a call from my GP.

Our son and daughter are becoming very anxious because  I have not yet been given an appointment. 🙁

Even if it is not for a while, it would be reassuring for them (and me!) to know I have not been forgotten.

It really does vary Kj, I have family in central Bristol where you'd think sheer population numbers would slow things up but they've been doing well. Where we are in rural Somerset, zilch for anyone under 80! I know our local GP is on a vaccination rota at a community centre 8 miles away, I presume the big push is to get the over 80s and people who are shielding through first.
