Beautifully moody photo Rocky. I took one this morning, will try and post later as haven't got the time to faff now shrinking it..........
I'm always aware of country lore, grandfather, born 1874 - were a slow lot in our family, very late developers 🤣😉, was a shepherd so lots came down!, re red skies, often spot on.
I snapped a very pretty one Sunday too, will try late.
Grey cold and frosty again here. Boiler is working but struggling, fingers crossed it keeps going until Friday. Opposite the removal lorry has arrived, I understand its exchange and completion on same day at the moment to minimise Covid messing things up! Just about to get ready for dog walk, she's still slumbering away!
Enjoy your day folks.

Our friends moved house just before Christmas and were literally left in the dark outside their new home, the keys didn't arrive till after 4 pm due to the way things are being done. Not much fun moving home just now.
Rocky's photo looks even better expanded.

Thank you all for the feed back👍🏻. That photo was taken due East & that was where the concentration of light & colour was yet the sun is actually rising in the South East so in the following hour it tracked right quite a ways. I just love nature in all of its forms👍🏻

I think it must be OK, we had a haggis starter at DD's wedding.
For those not keen on the "idea" of haggis, or actually vegetarians, a vegetarian option was offered, which OH ordered, and she said it was good, even had it a couple of times since then. Probably not suitable for you though as it very likely contains gluten.ABM.........these would not be doing any running anywhere .......did you not know they are grown in the fields right next to the neeps and the tatties??

Wonderful photo, Rocky. Where was it taken? It looks like the view from the back of our house!

It’s from the meadow at the back of my garden due East to Grimston Rich👍🏻. If you’re Sth of Hornsea it will be in your neck of the woods👍🏻

No - we're towards the north - just above the Mere - but with clear views out to the coast in a north-easterly direction.

In that case you’d need to be super tall & have telescopic eyesight👍🏻😂😂

So - vertically challenged and wearing glasses won't do then?

Miserable day here, cold, grey and wet. Some snow on the ground this morning, then rain which promptly froze to sheet ice in places. Now snowing again.
Managed to fix DD's electrical problems, but not her curtain rail as she had ordered the wrong thickness of cord. Problem is caused by H&S gone mad, curtain rail and blind cords these days can only be about a metre long, which, if you have an old house with high ceilings and tall windows, means you cannot reach the cords to operate the rail or blinds!
Some blind manufacturers will allow you to state the fixing height and they then have a formula to calculate how long the cords are allowed to be, but even doing that they are still too high up to be reached by anyone of below average height!
The only solution offered by the curtain rail manufacturers is to buy a much longer ( and of course much more expensive) rail than you need, and then cut it shorter, giving you more cord left over. Or buy new cord and change out the original cord.
DD was at the children's hospital with Callum this morning to have his feet and ankles checked as he was complaining of pains in his legs. All OK but he has some exercises to do, however he was very disappointed that they were not able to bring "baby brother" home with them. Having been told that mummy would go to the hospital soon and then bring "baby brother" home, he was fully expecting that to happen!🤣🤣🤣

K, what about curtain draw rods for your daughter? Much nicer solution, and far safer where children are around. They attach to lead ring of each curtain, and simply hang behind curtains out of way. No cords needed. You can get some really nice wooden ones, in keeping with older houses. Long enough for an adult to reach, but well out of way of small inquisitive hands.

My wife wanted a yarn bowl , so the last couple of days I’ve been in my shed and made her one from a piece of sycamore , just got to wax it ,then it’s hers

Wow HD, that is gorgeous👏👏👏 Please put another photo on of it waxed.

Beautiful HD, looking forward to seeing it waxed, will bring out all the lovely grain. Son of one of our neighbour’s has set himself up doing wood turning and carving crafts. I bought a couple of items off him as Xmas presents for my Mum and Sister. Do you buy in the wood, or age it yourself?

That would be a good idea for the rooms where she has curtain poles, will pass that on, thanks. I can make a couple for her.
But the rails she has in a couple of other rooms (Swish I think) have small plastic/nylon runners and eyes for the curtain hooks, so would not be suitable, hence the draw cords.

In and out in 15 mins, 3 more visits in this session and another for a couple small fillings, and one for me too for a similar reason. Should all be done by 1 st week in March.
Have booked 2 of our first 3 CLs for the start of our hopeful spring trip after Easter. Just have to decide on the middle one. Fingers crossed that we will get away.I
Hope all's well with you all, and you're being careful on the icy paths.

Corners, have your cycling trips taken you to Marsden Rock and The Grotto? The next book in the DCI Ryan series by L J Ross is based around there.

No No, Kj -- that's just where they nest ! The normal ones have right-hand legs shorter than left, so they can only run clockwise round hills and fields, whereas the Vegan thingies have short left legs so run t'otherway round -- Honest
I was told that only after buying a couple or six rounds in a bar for a { secret } team of Haggis trappers ( secret 'cos its a hanging offence to tell secrets to a bloke from central England so please don't let on I've told you
)Brue, quite agree about R2B's piccy, It filled my PC screen beautifully in both senses !!

A horrible day here as it got gradually wetter as the day went on. At least it has got rid of all the snow and ice. I might just be lucky with a dry walk out shortly.

Lovely design HD - nice to know there are others out there that get so much pleasure from working with wood. Here are a couple of past projects I have done, The gavels are made from a very rare African wood called Mahuhu (I think!), inset with ebony - so hard, it hardly needs any polishing. Went on a course to learn how to make Windsor chairs and have made a couple since. The Elm seat was carved with a traditional tool called a travisher.
