It certainly did Rocky. It's what is keeping me going at the moment.

Just working through his playlist at the moment. Great variety of songs, he sounds like Nick Drake one minute and the the next track reminds me of Leonard Cohan. His dueting with Jimmy Page on Hangman at the moment.

Lovely photos millie, looks like a grand walk. Glad those that had vaccine appointments were able to get the job done.
A very mixed day weather wise. Woke to a covering of white.....frozen hail ...and then we had showers of fine rain, large wet snowflakes and more hail interspersed with periods of warm sunshine which got rid of most of the snow. The sky is now clear and it's started to freeze, so should be fun heading out for our walk later and in the morning. Decided to wear my mountain boots which I haven't worn for a few years now, for this morning 's walk! I didn't realise just how heavy they were, so was glad to take them off after an hour's walk, and to think that I could walk all day in snow up Munros in them not that long ago,

What a strange evening. OH's cousin phoned whilst we were having dinner, not spoken to her for ages. Phoned her back, her hubby answered she was talking to one of their son's. Our daughter video called. OH cousin called back 🤣🤣. OH just called her back.........
Granddaughter's wanted to see the garden, why dark? Oh same moon as us 😀, can we see your hedgehog? Sorry no they're hibernating here's it's house. Gosh they're lively and we weren't even in the same room! We've all flamenco danced, the girls were dressed appropriately. Exhausted!!!
Sometimes we don't get to talk to anyone outside our 4 walls. It's all or nothing.
Glad folks have had a decent day. Jolly cold here no snow, not forecast possibly sleet 3ish tomorrow.

You & me both👍🏻. Plus a heck of a lot more folk too I reckon. It’s a gift just having access to beauty like that. I feel for folk who are valiantly coping with this lockdown situation whilst living in tower blocks-my worst nightmare☹️

I guess my favourite albums of his (Roy Harper) would be ‘Flat Baroque And Berserk’ and ‘Stormcock’. Nick Drake, another one of my favourite artists. I have all three of his albums, sounding wonderful on vinyl. One can only wonder at what might have been, if not for his early, and tragic demise.

No, I'm supposed to be recovering a Victorian chair seat but keep putting it off! Lets us know whether we do reveal ourselves....actually when we met up with two people on here I thought they were much like themselves and it was nice to see them.

Your weather sounds dreadful WN, closed a few Vacc centres as well according to national news. We have just been out to top up our feeders, and to give them some water to drink. Very hard frost here this morning, I was only out 10 minutes, but came back in very cold.
Had a chuckle with Tesco delivery man. We had a substitution today, nothing major, and it was a reasonable swop. But I mentioned about the funny swops we had chatted about a while ago. He said delivery drivers are doing same. One had taken out an order that had included a single fitted bed sheet, not available. Picker had substituted it with 5 tea towels!🤣🤣🤣🤣

We started off this morning with one of the brightest big red skies i have seen for a long time
it has since clouded over and we have now had 4 inches of snow,,it is just startng to ease off now just in time for the next Rosa walk and am sure the sledges will be out on the valley hills when we go

Cold here and frosty. Very pretty red sky this morning 😱
Dog and I had a good walk on the local estate, still got a bit mucky where the well used areas are. Not walked some of the spaces for a while sad to see 2 large oak trees down, waterlogged ground and wind? 😢. Temperature coming up and had an odd flake of snow, suspect it's coming nephew in London has it 😱.
NZ has found a community case of Covid, after person been out of 10 days MIQ, isolation of 14 days. Worrying on several counts!
Got the I can't be bothered vibes today.....

We are indoors happily watching our garden visitors hopping around, chasing each other. Hope the Blackcap comes back. No sign yet of GS Woodpecker though, hoping that family returns. Just spotted car pulling up next door as well, house viewing happening. Will be so sad to see our current neighbour leave. Come from away away, not local, so neighbour said yesterday. I think folks are after the big gardens round here.

Makes you wonder, due to the delay in the virus appearing whether she picked it up from someone who has gone undetected?
Given up on upholstery bit till after lunch, aching hands but determined to do it...

The light scatttering of snow has disappeared, wouldn't mind some real snow just for a change of outlook...❄
Sorting out a pressie for middle grandson who is 21 soon, time has flown.

Didn't see it Peedee but interested in any observations you wish to share.
An interseting debate, this is what I took from it. The answer to the question "Does social media reveal who we really are?" The answer was was no. People behave according to the environment? Social media has it good and bad sides but it does need more regulation and identiy checks should be undertaken on posters There was conflicting opinons how regulation could be achieved. Those pro freedom of speach did not agree on controls but thought we should be more sceptical/critical of what we read.
I would probably have to watch it again on catch up to glean more from it. I was distracted on occasions during the program. Maybe others who watched it can pass on a view.

Rosa and I have ventured out an hour ago ,i had to keep her on the lead as she thinks sledges are there for her to chase ,there are hundreds of follk out in the snow on the hills with and without children, and we counted 22 snowmen, two very big ,and it is still snowing but not as heavy as earlier
,there seemed to be several cars abandoned on one of the steep hill roads and a couple were chelsea tractors

Two of the very few children in this area (we are all oldies) have built a big snowman a in their front garden complete with hat and scarf

Makes you wonder, due to the delay in the virus appearing whether she picked it up from someone who has gone undetected?
it most certainly does. As far as I know no exceptions to MIQ, isolation, for anyone that's 14 days. And I believe negative test on exit but that may only be if there was a positive test??. Hers picked up after 10 days 'out' means it's either incubation time is longer than thought, and there's talk of any isoluation introduced here being less if negative test or as you say someone asymptomatic after their MIQ. Whatever it's very worrying not just for them but for the rest of the world, let's hope 'lessons will be learned' from elsewhere and acted on in a timely manor this time........
Lots of air traffic is of goods, family member captain with BA been ferrying goods on his passenger plane or taking diplomats etc to meetings in Japan and China since the start, strict quarantine rules for him - family reckon planning is much easier as he has definite dates and no standby's. But I believe folk still travelling. I don't look too closely in case I get angry - just doing as much as I can to keep us safe. Basically a walk each a day, online shopping and a very carefully planned into M&S ocassionally.
Its wet here won't dignify it with the adjective sleet. A shame as I'd like a coating of snow, at least its attractive to look at for a while. Son and DIL have a decent coating at 3pm
Brue it's hard on hands recovering and as we get older they are less supple 😱. Casting no aspersions!
Just come too from losing myself after lunch 😉. Enjoying a cuppa before preparing a lunch. Heard friends niece, in her late 30's, on oxygen 🙁 fit lady who looks after and rides horses, and her partner tested positive, no surprise there!

It's been snowing hard here all afternoon. It looks so pretty but I am glad that I don't have to travel anywhere in it.

A sister in law in the Midlands sent us a picture of the snow dog she made today...these sixty somethings, they never grow up.

We were expecting snow but just had flurries.
OH has helped me with the old chair, who ever upholstered it many years ago intended it to last, the velvet is tough and so are the staples. I was expecting tacks under the "gimp" but the staples are truly embedded in and no gaps. OH made up a staple remover but to no avail so going to try a commercial one, have managed to get some out. I would not like to do this for a living!

Just had video from DIL of son and dog playing in the snow. Sleet got heavier here but stopped now. OH took dog out earlier than his usual time they came back soaked. If he'd gone usual time it would have stopped 🤣🤣.
Our daughter and family went to snow planet just north of Auckland last week. Indoors as Northland is officially sub tropical 🤣🤣🤣. The girls wanted to 'dress' in the carpark 25c plus at the time 🌞, then whilst the adults hired salopettes the door was opened several times girls said that's cold. Daughter said that's not the snow area yet it will be colder! Elder granddaughter loved it and didn't mind cold feet wet hands but youngest not keen at all. Daughter swopped her dry socks with her 4 year olds wet ones. That's a mother's love 😉.
Milliehull I see weather warning saying cold be as low as -10c in the Midlands overnight 😱❄🌬
Good job most of us doing have to be going anywhere in this weather, hope itll keep the idiot's in, including those who are having a jaunt of hundreds of miles to view properties............

I was wondering how far next door’s viewer had driven, I must admit. I wouldn’t be doing it.
Sis and I are looking at ideas for Mum’s birthday in March. We usually go out for a nice meal together, as my birthday is day after, but that’s not going to happen this year. So, looks like “afternoon tea” at our house. Been totally underwhelmed by online afternoon tea offers, boring and overpriced to be honest. However, just found a Swedish idea that might be a bit different.....Smorgastarta! It’s a savoury cake, beautifully decorated, and filled with all sorts of delicious options, such as prawns, crab, smoked salmon, (meat options as well) Sis is an ace sugar crafter/ cake baker, so it should be a doddle doing a savoury version for a change. Maybe some Fondant fancies and macaroons then from Betty’s.
Picture of a Smorgastarta....... Inthink they are popular on cruises?

Another dry and sunny day up here and the same forecast for tomorrow. I am amazed that we're doing so well looking at other parts of the country.

Well it's been a typical Winter's Sunday today with plenty of bits n bobs to do but only got the poor cold Dukky started this morning, using the 'booster ' toy, then off for a reasonable run to help the battery feel at least a little loved, before checking by phone if The Aged One will need any shopping tomorrow. Back home for a late lunch & wondering where all the Snowpersons have gone ~~ only saw one, and that was in a grass play area in Knutsford, but even that was only half built despite large numbers of youngsters working at it.
I do hope you all have had a more productive & Warmer day than wot I've 'ad and hope for a warmer working week all round, not that yours truly recalls what one of them is

Stay Warm, Safe & with Power Company accounts all paid up & reasonable

Cold here all day, and very cold overnight, but no snow. Misty in the morning, but plenty of sun later on.
We have been making more masks for DD in case she needs to provide her own in the hospital, and planning a June/July trip south.....we live in hope!
OH e mailed caravan dealer re service, but no reply, possibly closed at present. Will try phoning next week.
Yesterday we took Callum to the park, it was rather busy. If we take him again we will go a bit earlier, when hopefully others will be home having lunch. Will also be warmer as by the time we left it was getting really cold.
DD used the peace and quiet to start varnishing the cot bed I had sanded, and to put up a blind in the new bedroom.

I too have his 3 major albums and also his Family Tree one. Such a shame that he died so young, and did not become well known till well after his death. Have you listened to any of the Lol Robinson and Hazey Jane ll or the Philosopher's Stone albums?

We had freezing to overnight but it had gone when we got up although the ground was well frozen. I dug out another even older but lighter pair of Scarpa hiking boots and took Flyte up to the old sports fields for his morning walk, and was thankful of the hard frost as otherwise we would have been ankle deep in mud. The sun came out around lunchtime and most of the roads and pavements are now free of ice.
Planxty is my choose of listen tonight while on here.
