Feels like a satisfying week. Rubbed down one of our internal doors and gave it four coats of paint, 2 undercoat and two gloss. Actually it was 7 coats in total. I used water-based undercoat and then a coat of water based gloss. I consider myself quite a good painter but the finish with the gloss was horrible. Consequently I sanded it all off and started again with solvent based paint and have now got a perfect finish, (I always take doors off and paint them flat). It helped pass the days away.

On top of painting the door I've sifted through numerous CL details and booked five, three for April (all being well) and two for June. I've also booked our mobile caravan service engineer for the end of March. Surprisingly he only had one slot left in March.

Let's see what I can find to do next week.smile

Like most on here we've had a busy day.

Too slippy to have a walk this morning but sun was shining so no reason not to tackle a few jobs outside. The drive block paving needed de-weeding and sand loss replenished. That took up all of the morning and part of early afternoon. Had a session trimming some stuff in the garden .

Just par boiled the veg for roasting for tonight. Whilst getting pans out I separated the steamer from the bottom big pan I wanted and lo and behold there between the two was a Placemat!! Needless to say MiL does the dish drying. 🎼 There may be trouble ahead🎼

Roofer calling tomorrow. Off to give MiL her jab as well. I did offer to do it but somehow they won't let me.undecided

    Take care folks.

Poodles! We had to use poodles on the course. Seriously high maintenance. They are lovely pooches, but I hate to see them with the silly show clips. I used to take our Airedales in, they were easier. But they don’t need as much clipping. I borrowed BIL’s big dog Airedale, we got him into the bath, then he kicked off big style, fangs bared. He really meant it as well, even tutor said whoa, don’t go there😱 He’d only even been hand clipped by my BIL. I took him the same bedraggled wreck back, told him to try socialising him!

Just back from a cycle ride. Abused by a driver only 100 metres from house. Claims I pulled a face at him. No said I that was merely fear of being run over by your out of control car (he actually mounted pavement) More abuse, but he hadn’t seen my OH who was following😂 Miserable old coot backed down at that point. Then a further 400 metres into ride, knocked off by a headphone zombie who decided to come to a dead stop and veer backwards into me! Accidental, we parted happily, no damage done. Then it was back to dodging the usual stuff. Hey ho, it all improves the bike handing skills. Can’t wait to go further afield. We both decided it would be safer on a dual carriageway than in the local park. 🤷‍♀️

B2, is the TV a smart, WiFi enabled for streaming?🤔. If so you won’t need a DVD👍🏻

We have 2 C/poos, one of the demands I had when we lost our Retriever & had to accept she’d not be replaced was-no dopey hair cuts. . .Summer #1, Winter #3. Mother & Daughter. One scurrys like a Cocker, the Daughter just encourages her Mother whilst sitting on the high ground cleaning her nails😂😂

Cocker poos are lovely. OH has just told me that he has seen them for sale at the moment for £3000 each. The dog world has gone stupid. I looked at an Airedale pup yesterday, from winning stock, but we only want a pet, £4500. These kind of prices are feeding the dog theft statistics at the moment, shocking. Folks are getting mugged out walking their dogs.

Average Airedale litter is around 10 pups, they always have big litters. That’s £40,000 in a single litter. Even with hip scoring costs, pup rearing and breeder vet bills, that’s a serious amount of profit made. 🤷‍♀️ Crooks are having a field day sadly😢

well a lovely sunny though cold day, a afresh wind but I thought great a good for a bike ride. Well got togged up, went to get the bike and the back tyre very deflatedundecided

So tried pumping it up but it wouldn't keep any pressure and then I noticed the green slime stuff coming out through a hole in the tyre. I assume it happened last time and the slime did it's job and got me home?

OK nothing for months then three in as many weeks. Well I gave them a good talking to last time (Basil Fawlty style) and warned them that if it happened again they were out, so today after a bit of research I got two new Schwalbe Marathon plus tyres which are supposed to be as puncture proof as you get get (TDA?) with videos of them going over upturned drawing pins! I even slimed them for extra protection.

Thing is I don't like taking out brand new tyres as they look so clean.

Yes it's a smart TV. We haven't used DVD for years and years, but OH memory not what it was, claims he'd watched something in last couple of months 😉.

We have Virgin so record on that. Just renewed Virgin for 18 months, wished I had read my crystal ball better...... but heyhoe iys only money and we ain't spending it on much else - unless you count, TV, boiler new toilet 🤣🤣

Takethedogalong dog prices are crazy at present, I do hope the breeders are declaring their profits to HMRC 😯. OH cousin has agreed to buy golden lab puppy ready early February, no black ones - around a litter they were inline for all 10 were still born 😢😢,  they lost one of their black one last summer 😢. Having agreed breeder upped price a couple of weeks later, her husband was all for saying no way but she's had a stroke and like my OH finding recovery tough so decided they'd pay the sillier money. I believe the breeder is a vet! Dog thefts are frightening and something I'm very aware of when walking our cockerpoo! I love the tale of your BIL's dog and grooming 😱. Couldn't agree more on poodle show styles 🤣🤣🤣

JVB good news on your jabs. If you've only bought a basic microwave it should be fairly straightforward. Everything is more expensive to repair than replace and then some folks wonder why we're trashing the planet 😤

We've both mastered, dont be too cocky!, our new TV remote.

Talking of vaccinations - we had the vet here today. She said she’s getting trained to give the jabs in the new vaccination centre that’s being setup. ( Town centre shopping centre - not many shops open at the  best of times).

re washing up with a long AI glove on my bandaged arm - only a partial success as it sprang a leak, but it kept my dressing dry. I’ll have to throw it out, but having just paid some bills I know they are only about £10 a hundred

As long as she doesn't have to check temperatures before injecting!

Oh goodness, sprang a leak🤣 Next time we visit the James Herriot Museum in Thirsk, I shall recall this conversation. It has a full size model cow, and you can do an internal inspection on it if you are inclined. I gave it a swerve....😂

I can't remember that but if it was then yes. Likewise no children when we went, in fact very few folk in I seem to recall, but it was a long time ago. We are terrible or good museum users depending on where you stand. We certainly explore and read as much as they've got on display. Often being the last to leave. Never overstaying I know how hard it is to clear overstayers when you want to go home!

OI,  Who are you calling an Old Cricketer Please  ??  Might be getting older by the minute, but very few who watched me perform { Lower order bat, Occasional 'keeper, bowled 'Flighted Filth'  as Alvin Kallicharran was accused of ! } would ever dignify me with the title 'Cricketer'  I can assure you  sealed.

Seems strange to listen to commentators working from home over a match in Sri Lanka.

My sister got her Covid jab yesterday she went along with my BIL for a late appointment at their local surgery and asked if they'd do her too and they agreed. Worth asking if you're going together.

Lucky you....still waiting for ours, we have a ferry Portsmouth-Caen booked for 13th Mar, going to have to knock that on the head as judging by your dates we will not have had 2nd vaccination until late April/early May, France kicking off again re blocking our imports so might just give that a miss in total this year.

Had to renew rear wiper on OH's car yesterday, cost me £140 yell, went to Halfords, charming young lady asked if she could fit it for me, steady nowwink, wiper blade that is, of course i said yes, then she asked me the usual, when due for service, mot etc, as they are some way off she asked if i would like a mini service £15, so like a sucker i said yes, turned out battery was almost knackered, had been a bit dodgey starting but put it down to cold, £104 for new battery, fitted of course, suppose cant complain too much battery is 15 years old, them South Koreans do make things to last.

Even if it did cost  me £140, it was a pleasant half hour and hopefully it will help to keep somebody employed.

Quite a bit of the white stuff falling.

The roofer turned up as planned, made a few of those inward sucking noises, usually means it's going to cost more than you thought.

Funnily enough Brue I was thinking that there will be a few no shows today due to the weather so I might be cheeky and ask if they want to get rid of one when I take MiL this afternoon....smile

That will depend on the vaccine i would think as the Oxford/astra zenica has a much longer "shelf life" in a fridge (6months?) than the other two?
