.....there's me thinking it was going to be warm today.  Thought shorts and tee shirt.  Now sitting outside, but am going to need a pullover.  I guess we are in the shade and it's only 9.15am.  Hope it warms up.... like the forecast said!

Just had a look at link thanks WN. We didn’t get across East as far as Wolsingham, as we turned up onto high Moors heading South to BC at Stanhope, but that’s a good stop over for us another time. Thanks for adding it to Small Sites thread. Enjoy going North, will be in touch👍

TG, we enjoyed all our Site choices this holiday. Bingfield Combe is basic, but at only £7 great value. Tap, waste, fabulous views, firm grass kept short. Foulden Hagg is lovely, again nothing beyond basics, (has hook ups) but stunning location and so much to do in area. Two areas, one CL, one private. Low Hedgeley is everything folks have said about it, simply lovely, great facilities, well managed, but not an extortionate price. Again a very interesting location. The real surprise return visit for us was Hexham Racecourse. Astonishing views all around. It perhaps won’t find favour with those who love the usual Club Site layout and model, but we found it lovely, well organised, well managed and popular with locals from not too far away. There were campers and MHs in and out all day. We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night, so families around, bit busier than mid week, but no issues at all. Brand new facilities, we didn’t go in, but cleaning and supervising was ongoing throughout the day, by the single on site Manager. Brilliant site for Hexham, Corbridge and Hadrians Wall.

Quite a nice day here today sunny and warm. I was up and away early this morning train up to Glasgow to collect the car from the garage all done and MOT’d hoping we won’t need to spend any more on it for a while. They even valeted and cleaned it got the alloys sparkling so that’s one less job for me to do before we head off.

Beautiful and very warm here as well Francis😁

Just had an email from our Docs. Local NHS very well organised, walk through or drive through Flu jabs organised at a location close by, so will book us in and get us all jabbed ASAP. One less thing to worry about. If it’s the Army running it, they were brilliant when they did C19 testing similar. No waiting, in and out, done in car.....

Had a frustrating day today - although trivial in the greater scheme of things.  I bought a tyre compressor, last month - a Ring RAC - and quite expensive on the basis that you get what you pay for - so get something that's going to last, thinks I!  Used it a couple of times and thought I'd check the caravan tyres before we set off on Thursday.  Guess what - it was leaking like mad from one of the joints and I've spent the last couple of hours trying to fix it and am now waiting to see if the latest attempt with liquid gasket might have done the trick.  Problem is, I now have an under-inflated van tyre so I've got to find a solution one way or the other.

Can anyone tell me how, on earth, one sends something back to Amazon - their website looks marvellous until you start to look for that solution.  Looks like I'm going to have to resort to a phone call - if I can find a number anywhere!

I get so annoyed when things don't do what they're supposed tosurprised

Sorry R&R, it's ages since returned anything to Amazon so I hope you find the answer somewhere.

We're 28C here so have given up dusting books etc and just slumped in the garden for the afternoon! 🌴🌞🌞

Ask those people ( !) who ring up telling us our Amazon Prime thingy is about to Finish -- try getting Them to do a real job  yellyell!!

OK Ok  I know, they are scammers but better we ask them to do something rather than they ask us ~~ After all they are paying for the call,  are they not undecidedundecided  ?

Right now I'm  wondering how to end the day --  the workshop { shed } has has a little bit of fettling 'cos it was looking rather tired. Now it's just Brian who's tired

R&R, here’s a link that might help. You need to find out who supplied your item, Amazon directly, or a seller via Amazon. Good luck, hope this helps

Red hot here as well today, so dog walk, then garden sorting and tidying. We appear to be overrun with raspberries😋😁

We have one of the Ring compressors, always found it good but there is always a rogue one!!   Returning to Amazon is quite easy at least it was quite recently for some faulty garden solar lights.  Go into your account, find the item you ordered and it will come up with various options.  One will be to return the item if it was bought within the last month or so.  They have a returns policy for items that become defective after this.  Check out the returns/warranty repair policy on the Amazon website.

A very low tide this morning meant a huge expanse of sand and only dog walkers out on Perranporth beach - plenty of space to exhaust even the most energetic of dogs!

Then a new walk for us (we still find some even after all these years) through the nature reserve at Kennell Vale - recommended by a friend we meet most mornings on the dunes. It's a short but very interesting walk through woods (ideal today which was very hot) and a few derelict old gunpowder factory buildings.

    https://wearecornwall.com/listings/kennall-vale/

Back for a late lunch at one of our favourite pubs, the Miners Arms in Mithian which has joined the Brit Stops network, though nobody seemed to be using it just now.

Unsurprisingly,  not much action from any of the party this afternoon! laughing

Nice easy, if rather too long, journey north to Yellowcraig. Thought they might not let us in as we are dogless.laughing Another similar couple fell upon us as we walked through the site, thanking us as they thought they were "the only weirdos on site!".smile Might have to hire Nellie's Flyte.

Glad it wasn't as hot as you lot have had it. Comfortable 20°. Set up, had lunch, put the awning up then strolled down to the front to stretch the legs, and buy an ice cream. The Forth hadn't reached First looking at the mill pond. Barely a ripple.

RandR - We bought the Joe Blow Sport and I must admit I was pleased with its first effort before setting out on our current adventure.

Moved on from Chelmsford to St Neots C&CC yesterday. Delightful spot with a pitch next to the Great Ouse. Solar panel struggling to keep up with consumption despite the wall to wall sunshine. Rationed OH to her one hour medical programme on BBC2.

I decided to take an early bike ride through Newcastle's new cycle lanes. They are really good. Ended up with a coffee on the quayside watching all the poor souls going to work over the Tyne bridge. Lovely warm day.

    Y

A nice warm day today so managed a decently long walk this afternoon and was surprised how few people were out and about. Jobs round the house this morning with a little bit of concreting and then giving Flyte his pre-trip bath.

You beach looks deserted, M, and there's been those on here saying that Cornwall is packed to the gills!!  That certainly looks an interesting walk that you did.

Pleased to hear that you've reach your next destination safely, WN. There's plenty of beach there too for a long walk. Wet suit ready for a dip?

Glad to hear that your car's fixed and has passed it's MOT. Hopefully one worry less for the next 12 months, Francis.

Lucky you having all those Raspberries, tda, as they're my favourite fruit. I always keep my eyes open for the wild ones when we are out in the country, and eat them straight off the cane.

Thanks all - for your help re contacting Amazon.  It was just two days after the 30 day return period - so that option didn't work.  I tried the on-line chat  - but that is automated, so was about as much use as a chocolate teapot.  Then followed a few other links and eventually found one that said "Ring me".  Clicked on that and within 30 seconds an advisor rang me - explained the situation and within a minute she agreed to send a replacement out to arrive today and I send the old one back within a month.

Albeit that I am cross about the original being faulty, I couldn't really expect better customer service than that.  Fortunately, it came from Amazon direct - don't know if the response would have been so good with a third party seller. Thanks all.
