I am very disappointed David, I thought at least the ceiling lights would have rattled (helicopters do that to us on a frequent basis...) wink

Oh bother !!     (  <--  note the amazing self control innocent)

I was looking forward to a new subject of about fifteen pages long , at least,  to keep us all entertained should the incipient Lock Down Mk 2 actually occur.yell

Still I'll just have to substitute that with listening to the England & Wales Crikkit Team whacking them there Aussies again  wink

    Had a lovely day.

Cycled the Waskerly Way today on a mostly sunny day with a bit of headwind. Uphill over the moor. Cleared the cobwebs. Downhill return went a lot quicker.smile Couple of photos of the day.

Back at the caravan to take the awning down dry and sort of pack the car. Off tomorrow.

Really enjoyed our week here. The site has been good and we've found plenty of things to do. Hope to be back some time in the not too distant future. Have to arrange a bike ride with CS.

Thanks Francis it's going good so far.

What a difference with the weather today, nice and sunny,  warm 24c ☺️

Bike ride this morning along to Sutton on Sea and beyond, along the sea front. Had to stop and turn around as the cycleway was covered in thick sand managed 10 miles though.

They were clearing the front in Mablethorpe but it's going to take weeks to get along the front with just 2 men and a digger.laughing

This afternoon we took a drive to Gibraltar point, really warm there, car park busy but with plenty of space on the reserve social distancing was not an issue, unlike in the town's which looked to be as busy as normal times. Very few bothering, Covid what's that.

Moving pitch in the morning once some have left. Tried out the windbreaks I made last year, they have stood up fine to the wind here ☺️ much lighter in weight than the ones you buy.

Sounds a good day you had WN.

Fantastic day here, lovely weather. We actually managed a swim, shorty wetsuits, first time used, marvellous. We move on tomorrow after five lovely days here at Foulden Hagg. Not far, down to Powburn, via coastal route.

We arrived at Sandringham on Sunday in brilliant weather. OH very pleased with the way that the new tow car performed. Sat out and enjoyed the good weather rather than put the awning up. Yesterday was a completely different day weather-wise - raining when we got up so no putting the awning up as planned so we went a did a food shop instead and put the awning up in the afternoon.  We spent the afternoon trying to remember where everything was and where it should go not having used the caravan for a year.  We exercised both brain and body! Today a completely different day again - glorious sunshine so we spent the day in Wells next the Sea - one of our favourite places. Unfortunately the old Dutch barge where we have loved having a meal in the past had disappeared but we found a nice little café with outside seating.  Like Northumberland Norfolk is very busy but we have managed to dodge the crowds. Wi-Fi is a bit unstable here.

We are off to Norfolk in October Millie, but in a cottage. We’ve decided to take the MH with us, so we have our own mobile cafe, loo and rest room. Safer for Mum, and she enjoys being in MH. Enjoy yourselves, it’s a lovely part of the country.

Glad to hear the new car was up to scratch Millie. Wonder whether the Dutch barge returned home when the pandemic struck? Wells is one of our favourite places.......

    ......and Gibraltar Point TG.😀🍦

    Enjoy your trips you lot.

Lots of our favourites places being visited it appears, glad that you all are having pleasant trips, and spells of decent weather. Unfortunately we've had drizzle and grey skies again but have managed to stay dry during our walks out. Tried to book our flu jabs but the earliest we could get was mid October and we'll still be away then. Will have to try again for when we get home in November. Phoned up a couple of CLs for the next weekend but one, but both are full. 😟 Might try another tomorrow, but if no not will just stick to our original plan.

Fingers crossed that all goes well tomorrow as I'm taking the car in for it's service and MOT.

We were surprised that it was actually moveable WN. It's been there a while and was quite old! Good idea to take your MH in October TDA so you have your own facilities. Lovely photos WN. Glad everyone is having a good time away.

Nice to hear about all the trips!

A much needed seat MIllie! (Especially in clothes shops...laughing)

Had a long whatsapp chat with family in NE last night, including budgies. 🦜 (Who'd have thought the internet would bring about a chat with a budgie. wink) Fingers crossed we'll get up there, the upwards trend of Covid is not looking good.

As you can see, I'm avoiding tasks in hand this morning! Must get a move on.

Another lovely day here, bit more breeze so not so hot as yesterday.

Moved pitches this morning (couldn't get 4 days on same type) moved to a h/s now on  the edge of the site. Downside is there is a tree blocking this evening's sun, upside is the yapping dog is further away smile

Went for another cycle ride this afternoon, forgot to put the drinks in so OH had to buy us ice creamslaughing we sat on the beach wall eating them. Beach has plenty of folk on it but with the size of the beach here it never gets busy beach goes on for miles.

Tomorrow is our last day here then off to Kingsbury Water park at Sutton Coldfield, managed to grab another 3 days there so now going for 6 days. Also got 2 days at the C&CC Kendal site on our way north.

    Where are you now WN?

TDA, brrr swimming in the  North sea, rather you than me, even in a wet suit.

Francis, hope car gets fixed ok on time.

Millie, good to hear you are happy with the new car.

We started the day with a badly sagging awning. One of the vavles had developed a leak and needed tightening. It took a while to find out which one..Another glorious sunny day here. We decided to wander over to Sandringham House. All a bit of a disappointment. I had hoped the church would be open but sadly not in the current situation. House and grounds only open 3 days a week at the moment and today wasn't one of them.☹. We didnt do our homework 🙄. We had a wander round the park and sat in the sun with a drink from the take away.  We then came back and sat in the sun on site..We have done our homework for tomorrow and booked to visit Houghton Hall walled garden

Brue, I love the idea of a whatsapp chat with a budgie🤣. I hope your NE trip goes ahead.

Francis, I hope you get you car fixed without too much expense.

TG, glad to hear you are enjoying your trip. I havent been to that area for years.

Well we left Foulden Hagg this morning, after five lovely nights and days there. Met up with a niece who was heading back home from Scotland in her tiny camper car. OH and niece went for a swim again, while I pooch minded and sorted out the catering. Then we took a leisurely drive down the coastal route via Bamburgh and Seahouses. Never seen a Bamburgh so busy, car park was heaving, loads of hired MHs, hundreds of folks around. Glad we decided to keep away from this part of Coast. We turned inland at Christon Banks and took a moorland route that has to be one of the most beautiful we have ever driven. So much to see going over, lots of history. (Not suited to big MHs though, but tiddlers like us it was a brilliant drive. Now at Low Hedgeley Farm near Powburn for two nights.

This has been our pitch for last five nights. Nearest neighbour was 100 metres away! Views to kill for as well, hares and deer in adjacent field, bats and buzzards overhead😁

Yes, it’s just down the road. OH stayed on his own a few years ago. I think we are off for a cycle ride tomorrow, so will probably ride past. It’s a lot quieter inland here than over on Coast. The C&CC site at Beadnall was heaving, and all the other sites around Bamburgh. Never seen so many MHs up here before, all different sizes and shapes. They had a dozen portaloos in car park below Castle, not sure that’s my idea of staying Covid free, but if it stops folks doing it in the gardens, I suppose it helps.😬

Great photos TDA our sort of site, we have friends who live in Wooler and we stayed with them for a few days 3 years ago and would like to tour up in that area.  It has quieten down around here only 4 MH's in and Aire just outside Cajarc when it has been full most days and a few on the roads but did watch Tour de France last night and quite a few MH's parked up but not as many as most years possibly because it is outside main holiday season.

Had an anniversary dinner with friends yesterday as they are busy with guests tomorrow so have booked a local restaurant for us to go to and it is 49 years.

Looks like we are in for a very hot weekend 33C but should breakdown on Tuesday with storms for a few days, that will make the grass grow again, OH strimmed outside our wall on Tuesday and glad he did as the local council have been along the local road and slashed the verges and sometimes knock stones out of the walls and ours are very old ones hence doing outside ourselves.

Enjoy all your breaks folks hoping to go away next month to a small site for a few days and hope it will be quieter then.

Quite envious ttda - we should have been there in May but, obviously, had to cancel.  Perhaps we'll get there next Spring.

In the meantime, Whitby, Cumbria and Sandringham to look forward tolaughing

Today is a funny sort of day. It should be the highlight of the farming year - Westmorland County Show. Even more special for us this year as my husband is President, and we would have been suited and booted and escorted round all the tents, exhibits and stands, before hosting a reception and lunch.

But it was not to be.

We've been showing there since 1875 (first just dairy produce and root crops), and then Dairy Shorthorns since the 1920's. My father in law was President in 1989 and I was his escort (he was a widower).

We've got Prize Cards since 1875 and photos since 1926 – here are a few of them.

So very sad for you, Goldie, but I have to ask -- will the Presidency be carried over or will it be a 12 month only posting ?

One thing I have noticed is the latest photos show much taller animals, have they been on steroids perhaps ??

I do hope the Presidency gets carried over Goldie, or your OH gets another chance of Presidency in short term. Wonderful history, we love Agricultural Shows, the big ones are good, but gone over now to capture crowds away from agriculture, we much prefer the more traditional type shows. Used to go to Stithians each year.

Is that Foulden or Low Hedgeley? Both are superb sites, very different. We were amazed to get two nights at LH, especially as I only phoned 48 hours prior. There is just so much to see and do in Northumberland and Borders, without going into towns as well.👍

Low Hedgeley, ttda. Northumberland isn't a county we know too well, so we were looking forward to exploring pastures new.  Still, I'm sure if Boris et al permit it, we will be there next year.

The early photo show two heifer calves. Our cows are not as tall as Holsteins.

I think the Presidency will be carried over - but won't be ratified until the AGM in February. If we can have gathering then.

Because there is no actual show, there is an Alternative Show. With a reduced number of classes, judged by video and photographs. In a class for all breeds we are very pleased to be placed second. This is Strickley Barrington Dot 24th, shown by my Grandson.
