Our trip to Norfolk was to weigh up the option of getting a permanent holiday park home near Cromer (we stayed at Seacroft),.the costs in the end did not add up for us

The headline price was ok, it was the necessary add small print costs that changed our mindsundecided

We've been home now for 4 days, but only just getting time to read through all the posts I've missed as our daughter has been staying with us,  as she was working in the town, and we had a lot of catching up to do. After a wet night on Tuesday it was fair when we rose in the morning and all packed up. Although the site was rather soggy we got off ok and had an easy 1.5 hr run home. Van unloaded and away, and 3 loads of washing done and dried outside in the afternoon. Have now cleaned the car and nearly completed the cleaning of the outside of the caravan. Just sit down sometime and complete the reviews of the CLs that we used this last trip, but I never seem to have time.

Glad to read all of your news, especially B2's and the completion of the house sale. Good to hear from Tricky that the new property is coming along well. Hope that all that are away are having a good time and those that have a trip in the near future get away without any problems and the weather stays fine.

I shall have to look at some other forecasts. It did look ok from Thursday onwards, so we might go a day later.

After a great day decorating yesterday, finishing off some stuff today was one of those days😡 Every little thing seemed to be difficult. But got bathroom back to fully functioning, no more trips into bedroom to find that elusive item, wondering where the heck it’s been put. Called in to clean my teeth when........crash. All our carefully arranged cabinet has just reorganised itself🤣 Back to the drawing board tomorrow. We needed a new cabinet really......

Talking of weather....just watched TdeF highlights, loads of crashes, absolutely slinging it down in Nice.

Brilliant blue skies this morning, bright sunshine and a cool wind from the north, don't mind Autumn being on the way, it's just all the leaves and apples that will need picking up!  Spoke to village friends who are off on a rally next week, we've got several neighbours with vans and they've all managed a few short trips out, so hope all the various holidays plans on here will go ahead.

The last of the swallows are lining up at least they're going somewhere! wink

Lovely refreshing walk this morning, back to move caravan to an easier spot to pack.

Passed a house on the walk. They have an open storage area and a Swallow was still feeding chicks on the nest.

Just having a quick coffee before getting stuck in again. Enjoy your day folks.

Brighter again today here. The breeze of yesterday dried the grass nicely, so managed to get that cut and the edges strimmed, garden all hoed and looking good once again. Few jobs still to do but they can wait until we get back.

Today is finishing off packing the caravan. Fridge is on so should be able to stock it after lunch.

Washing done and I've even managed to oil the side decking this morning.

Now time to go through the house tidying up and give the place a vac and dust, hate coming back to it not done.

Also need to work out what to eat for dinner tonight.

It seems unseasonably cold. Not so bad for being outside doing things but the house seems cold. The heating has not been on for 4/5 months so I thought I should re-pressurise the boiler. The previous boiler didn't need this as it had its own supply tank but the new combi boiler is a sealed system. I find it very fiddly as I have the insert a key and getting it in the right place and pushing it home is not always successful!! Anyway eventually managed and put heating of for half an hour to check all is working. Fortunately it seems OK! We have the Hive system of remote control and I have an App on my phone and when we are away I can set the heating to come on a couple of hours before we get home. Previously we used to come home to a freezing house which took ages to heat up.

No, I've not had a nice w/end so far  --  two more loads for the tumble drier, several spiders evicted { NO not from the tumble drier you muppets  yelllaughing } bedding all prepared for Autumnal sleeps  and thermal corn plasters readied smile.

Obviously its dry but c-c-cool here in the County Palatine, so if it can stay like this for a couple more days I might, just might, get my workshop ( shed ) windows fettled, and made water- and spider-proof. And what are the odds that I will get some sealant on my nice clean ironed goodies , harrumph, growl, snarl  ??

    Nice weekend, oh yeahyell

A bright but coolish day tiday. We decided to go for a walk along the Kennet & Avon canal. Lots of activity along the canal, they were even doubling up in some of the locks! As always, the locks at Caen Hill were the star attraction. I'm sure if you're keen on canal boating it must be a great experience but I think I'd find it frustrating making such slow progress over such a short distance! wink

For the technically minded there is an information board at the pumping station for the locks explaining that the pumps are now largely solar powered.

We committed today........checked one of our favourite sites has a pitch, and we shall be ready to roll in a few days time. Plenty of little jobs to do before the off, but looking forward to a few days away, mainly walking, cycling and sitting on or by a beach.😁 You we’re right WN, forecast for NE looks nice from next week.

Cracking finish to second day of TdeF.

Hope you enjoy the break TDA.

We've had to de-commit, the van engine needs sorting, not  going to make it to Cornwall this week. frown Got to make sure it will be ready for the longer NE trip later in the month.

Thanks brue, shame about Cornwall. We hummed and hawed about heading to SW, but decided we wouldn’t enjoy journey at the moment, and only got 10 days, so heading NE instead. Got an overnight pull up sorted for first night, then five nights on a private site/ CL. Hoping to hop back home via Hadrians Wall rather than down Coast.

More work on bathroom, commenced hunting for a storage cupboard🙄

Glad you've sorted out a site for your trip, tda, and it looked a much better day at Nice today, and quite a finish too. Sorry to hear that you've had to cancel your next trip, brue, hope that the M/H's fixed for your NE  tour.

    Fine photos, M and CS.

Sunny warm morning at home but cloudier and cooler in the afternoon. Completed the cleaning of the outside of the van, continue with the inside tomorrow.

All ready for the off tomorrow, just got to put in the fresh food in the morning.

Won't have to leave to early as its only a couple of hours drive to our  first stop and we can't arrive until 13.00.

TDA, glad you got sorted for a site, weather looks to be ok for a few days so hoping we can get in a few walks and bike rides.

Brue, shame about Cornwall, hope the van gets fixed ok for your trip to the NE.

WN will drop you a line shortly.

Same here JVB.  We weighed up all the additional costs and decided against it.  OH not at all keen on the yearly fees either especially as we would have no control over them and they would quite likely rise year on year.
