Frustrating day, despite the good weather.  Optician this morning so could not start installing new handrail at Guide Hall till the afternoon.  All set to start, then discovered that supplied support brackets did not fit pre-drilled holes in handrail.

Back home  to ring supplier, turns out they had supplied internal quality rather than external quality brackets.   😖

So, first  a delay in delivering parts, then a part missing, and now wrong parts supplied......their review is not going to be good!

Now have to wait for wrong brackets to be uplifted and correct ones supplied.

I felt shattered, until I read Bakers post. Boy, you need a break soon. Hope you get one.

Did you pay for the window Millie? If so did you pay by CC? Threaten them with a section 75. One year for a window is not good enough. Good luck.

Withe the weather due to deteriorate we've been rushing around trying to get all sorts done. Gardening mostly. Filled our bins then borrowed another unused one and topped a fourth one up. Managed to cut through he cable on the lawn mower without killing myself. Good job I've got a cut out.

Good to hear folks enjoying themselves. I assume Moulesy and Tammy not on speaking terms. Couldn't really get further away from each other could they?smile

Good to hear your news, B2, it's no wonder you feel shattered. Hope you a more restful time this week.

Best wishes to all who have had birthdays and anniversaries recently.

Looks like a good day out, brue, even though the coffee shop was closed.

Hope that you manage to get a satisfactory result with the window, Millie. I'd definitely follow WN's advice of you have no joy.

Good job that you had a cut out fitted, WN, and no injuries occurred.

We towed up to another new to us CL near Lancaster yesterday, Herons Wood. The M6 was rather busy, but no holdouts, and there were lots of caravans and M/Hs heading south. Went for a walk along part of the old coastal railway line between Glasson Dock and Lancaster.  Today was one of the finest we've had for walking on this trip, sunny and warm with no breeze. We first drove to Knott End for a short stroll round then onto Fluke Hall car park near Pilling and walk back along the embankment to near Knott End. Plenty out walking but all keeping to the social distancing edict. Still warm enough when we got back to the site to sit outside for a while after dinner.

Our Panasonic breadmaker seems to have finally given up the ghost. We have had a couple of flat loaves which we thought was down to the yeast but same result with new yeast. We have had it many years so probably can't complain. I did take it apart a couple of years ago and got it working again but I think it was on borrowed time! New Panasonic ones seem to be getting a bit expensive and not many instock, at least in JL. Probably a bit counter-intuitive but I have ordered a fairly inexpensive Russell Hobbs breadmaker from Argos, for £65 I don't think I have much to lose! The reviews of it are actually quite good with seemingly quite a few previous Panasonic customer buying them. Time will tell. Poor credit card has taken an even bigger hit because I have treated myself to a new high spec computer. My current one is seven years old now and getting a bit on the slow side, a bit like me! I do like a proper PC.

We’ve woken to dark skies for the first time this morning. The rain is already pouring down. Stay safe in the high winds everybody. We’re off to work.....(the dining room!) I’m glad I’m not commuting into the office today.

    Whereabouts in N.Norfolk TDA?

Yes a very dark morning here as well and pouring with rain. So glad we took the caravan to the dealers yesterday and not today as originally planned.

Grey wet and miserable this morning same as all over I guess, at least we are not the only ones. Wind picking up and we've to go out to the shops at some point.

Washing on, will have to go in the tumbler today no chance of getting anything out even under cover.

    Stay safe folks.

TG - Had to laugh as Mrs WN had, only 30 minutes beforehand spoken with a neighbour, and informed him that tools of any description and me do not go together. She was at pains to point out that I do have other qualities (hidden I must admit) but anything mechanical bamboozles me. I've always been accident prone.

I used to think all children smelled of Germolene.smile

Sitting here waiting for a phone call from Thoracic Specialist at hospital for results of the scan I had a fortnight ago. Supposed to call at 10.00. Besides the waiting room is warmer and safer and the coffee miles better.

West Runton, Millie! It’s a tad further East than we usually go, but nice. We won’t be doing a deal of town visiting, but it’s close to the sea, close to Felbrigg, Zoo in Cromer, Muckleburgh Collection, some other good places to book in and safely take Mum. OH will be cycling himself to a standstill most of time we are away, so he’s happy. Big old house, four beds, two huge bathrooms, loads of downstairs room, kitchen has an Aga, and a huge garden, great for eating outside and for pooch to have plenty of room. We are just mulling over taking MH rather than Jeep as one vehicle as it makes us self sufficient during day. Sis will be taking her Skoda. I was amazed it was free to be honest, I only browsed one website, found two we liked a couple of weeks ago, one had been booked, so grabbed the other for ten days. We have so missed our Summer holiday away together this year, and it could be a loooooong semi lockdown Winter, so we made the decision. OH and me looking to get away for as many breaks as we can then safely. We are hoping to get bathroom semi renovated (new shower, sink) and a new boiler fitted in New Year, so want to make most of run up to Christmas. But in safety and seclusion as far as possible.

    Hope the results are favourable.

Went and did the shopping choosing to go straight to ASDA, shouldn't have bothered half the shelves were empty, self scan tills not working properly and staff just plain rude. Will go to Alde for the rest of the bits we didn't get this morning but it won't be today I've had enough of shops.

Still persisting it down here but the wind seems to have died down a bit.

Washing now all done and just the last load to be tumbled.

Next doors cat fast asleep on the dining table, on top of the pair of curtains I've to shorten. Why can't cats sleep where you put a bed for them. undecided

I think, Brian, that you have far too much time on your hands!innocent

Anyway chief T-Rex was absent today so I got to speak to Junior, who when pressed, admitted the big mans report was missing but not too worry as the scan looked the same as the last one but if the report, when it surfaced, said anything different then he would be sure to contact me. Certainly put all our minds at ease.undecided So we've decided to ignore them and just continue with our upcoming travel plans. It's all one can do.

I assume everyone is having this storm today.

We did return one of MiLs recent trouser purchases to M&S today. Admittedly not her fault. The "exact" pair that she was happy with after buying them in store came from online but when measured the leg size was a full inch and a tad longer than the first pair. Whilst there I bought a pair of trews myself. Same problem with a proposed second pair. Looks like their quality control at the suppliers needs looking at.

Only saw the one caravan on the road today!surprised

WN, glad to hear the news is sort of ok laughing

Re M&S I've said for a long time their QC is not as good as it used to be, I've returned several items as faulty, mostly size problems but also the sewing of the seams can be terrible at times. Having said that I have an order to collect on Friday.

I've been doing a fair bit of shopping on line today, bagging the summer bargains (what summer) I do like a bargain. Hoping all will fit, then they can go away until next year in the hope that we will get a summer undecided

Absolutely LOVE West Runton TDA. I had some wonderful holidays there when in my teens with my Mum and Dad and best friend in a caravan on the cliff top then called Abbs Caravan Site now called Laburnams I think. We have visited many times since mostly to the C&MC site. There is a great caravan spares and equipment shop there if you take your camper and need anything. As you say a great centre for visiting places. Cromer is great as well. Have a wonderful time.

We had lunch out today - the first for 6 months. We went to Cote Brasserie which is one of our favourites. All very well organised, tables well spaced, lots of sanitising between customers and staff all wearing face visors but as friendly  and helpful as ever. Lovely meal which cost just over £40 for the 2 of us 🙂. It was OH's very belated birthday treat. Then we got really brave and had a wander round our JL. I did my bit for their economy 😁. The first visit to town since lockdown.  2 days at home now with no plans to go anywhere. Very wet this morning and very windy this afternoon. This morning at the Cathderal was very quiet with practically no visitors and then we had 90 between 12.00 and 1.00 😳

I can fully understand the sizing issue with M&S clothing. Something is clearly not right with the sizing at M&S at the moment, and it’s reflected in a lot of the garment reviews. I bought a nice top for Mum alongside some chinos for Sis and me. They arrived yesterday, chinos ok, except glad we ordered regular leg length, as long would have needed stilts! And at 5’7”-5’8” we are not short! But the top for Mum😱 I ordered a size 8, she’s a little waif nowadays, usually a size 10, and top said loose fit. Opened it up and........well, it’s more like a size 16 really.🙄 In the past M&S clothing was very reliable in terms of sizing, but no they clearly have no kind of garment control, and stuff is now probably produced in many factories, the sizing is all over the place, not good.

We shall enjoy West Runton Millie. Only stayed once for a few days at Incleborough, but we did find the camping spares shop. Good to know it’s still there. Hoping some of the lovely churches are open, it’s certainly a great area for lovely churches is North Norfolk. Another possible must visit place is the Hat Shop in Burnham Market. If it’s not busy, we might venture in. 👍

Looks as if we've had similar weather to everyone else, wind and rain, sometimes in heavy prolonged showers, but we did manage a couple of walks without getting too wet, one along the coastal path and the other in Williamson Park, up to the Ashton Monument.....the impressive structure one seen when passing Lancaster, to the West of the M6. Our last night away tonight for its trip, home tomorrow for a short while before we head north.

Our last day in Totnes too today...all the Ts! wink

Survived the persistent 53 mph winds and finally got some sleep, we  knew the weather wasn't going to work in our favour but we've enjoyed the stay. Had a stroll round the old Guildhall area yesterday, the town isn't busy but busy enough. The money off meals are a bit of an attraction but lots of people are having picnics so we joined in and bought some pasties for lunch. Short turn around when we get back and then a few days in Cornwall.

We like Totnes brue, it’s managing to thrive whilst other towns are really struggling. Got to be all the small independent shops that help, and it’s location of course. We were there last Summer and saw only a single vacant shop, which was in process of being renovated. I hope it’s got through the pandemic successfully. It’s like Hebden Bridge up her in Yorkshire, ploughs it’s own furrow. Does the Totnes £1 still exist?

Wild and windy up here, we had a big rainstorm yesterday, but sun came out later, and this morning is lovely if still very windy. I have commenced on our bathroom, meantime. Going to re stain woodwork, wallpaper above the tiles. Looking at ditching our current towel and other stuff storage, and putting in a handy foot drying seat. Eventually, we are looking at a new shower area, and a new sink pedestal, but our regular plumber is booked solid now until into New Year. We can wait, we want a new boiler as well, so will get all work done together.

The Totnes pound has finished TDA. As for the shops I would think some will be struggling, people are wandering around (many in masks) but it's less tempting to go into shops. That said I bought pillowcases yesterday, because I forgot ours! There's something strange about not having any. wink

It's also quieter because the round Robin steam train, bus and river trips have been reduced, nothing this end at all.

Have been reading everyone's posts, will catch up later. 🤹

We love Totness Brue we always go there when down at Hillhead (might be back next year) lovely town and the bakers down near the bottom of the town so the nicest sausage rolls around.

Been a miserable couple of days here beginning to brighten up a bit now think we managed to avoid the worst of the storm.
