Which is the 'right' end Brue? We went to Knoll Beach, but it was very busy. Stayed for a couple of hours and then caught the ferry to Sandbanks - needed to go to Tesco's!!.
We did quite like the look of Shell beach, further towards the ferry and far less crowded. We don't go in the sea, so may well try Shell another day....

David. Many an unwitting tourist has strayed into the quieter nudist end of Studland Beach! Sounds less busy down there as the area has been packed with visitors this summer. Have you been to the rspb site at Arne, you can take the dog, it's a lovely place to walk. Enjoy your stay.

DSB enjoy Studland. Don't forget the lovely heath walk behind the beach including little sea. Yes just choose your beach area with care 😉
Milliehull yes I know what you mean about wishing for rain. Ours started Friday folks kayaking in the street, I mistimed a dig walk and we were soaked to our underwear - reminded me of Singapore came on like a tap! Very warm too so that was a bonus. Still been humid. Sun got some heat in already as we walk the estate, I've sat for a cool down the bench seems to be in a breeze which is welcome.
Enjoy your day folks.
Edit
Those that have trips planned, included those with family visits enjoy. Its hard not seeing family and a bit odd when you get the chance to catch up with friends too. We are hoping to see some on Thursday- seems an age since we had a good catch up phone or passing chats aren't the same.

Isle of Purbeck is a lovely spot. We've often stopped at Ridge Farm. Corfe, Studland, and the Jurassic coast all within easy reach and a pleasant walk along the river into Wareham with its choice of pubs. For us it's only an hour and a half although we haven't been for a few years now.

TG I've been adding to our holidays today, decided to get away while we can as it looks like a long winter ahead. So we're sort of going back wards and forwards to sites down here before we head off north. Not easy finding dates that fit due to everything being busy.
Hope you enjoy Rosemarkie, I really like the village, the dolphins and the sea views! 🐬
Thanks brue, good luck finding dates for your trip north. We found it easier getting dates down south/central than up in north east and Yorkshire. Once you get past the middle of September its a bit easier. We've never stayed on the Rosemarkie site but have been there as our son was stationed in Fort George for awhile so used to go up to see him. Looking forward to our visit even if the weather isn't going to be great.
Had a lovely meal out last night (thanks millieH) with the family, all very well organised. Meals/drinks ordered through the app meals all arrived at the table together so well done the kitchen staff. Lovely to see everyone out and about all behaving responsibly.
Another dull day
no rain (yet) but that mountain of ironing is calling, OH already tackling his load
need to get a wriggle on and put things in the MH ready for our trip tomorrow. Managed to get onto live chat this morning with the travel services and move our tunnel booking to a future date so all good there. Here's hoping all these future bookings take fruit and folk manage to get away.

Thanks brue I look into that, not familiar with it but I guess the site staff will have some info on it.
Having seen the forecast for the next few days it appears we will fair better than some in Wales and the midlands, not sure what its going to be like at the weekend though when we are at Rosemarkie. The Moray coast can be quite sheltered so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Enjoy it TG.
The weather does look bad for tomorrow down here but ok on Thursday so I'll have no excuse not to clean the caravan and car. Had a look at the roof of the caravan today just to make sure we didn't have a dead seagull or something that might be attracting the flies but nothing there except dirt!
Sorry to hear you have abandoned the France trip for the moment but glad transfer of dates went smoothly.
Meant to ask Millie how here hubby was after his turn.

Thanks WN he seems fine. He even managed to speak to our own GP on Friday which was reassuring. The Cathedral, understandably, wanted a 'fit' note to say OH was OK to do light gardening. Rang on Wednesday told by the receptionist that our own GP was next on duty on Friday so OH rang first thing Friday morning, explained what he wanted, and was told our GP would ring him sometime after 8.30am that morning. He duly rang at 9.30 and they had a long chat and GP quite happy with his BP readings and also that the dose had been reduced. He only prescribed one table daily originally - it was the kidney consultant at the hospital who said to take two tablets. Thank you for asking. How is your fly situation? We had something similar a few weeks ago and scoured the house looking for something that had died or something the cat might have brought in but nothing. I can only assume that the hot weather is causing it.
I spoke to some caravanners who are staying at Ferry Meadows when I was on duty at the Cathedral this morning so I asked how things were. They are very impressed with all the social distancing arrangements and cleaning going on which was good to hear.
We have had the towbar fitted on to our new car this afternoon which has all gone fine. Thankfully he had just finished when the heavens opened.

Emergency MH repair here today, talking of roofs. The little mushroom air vent on top of our MH has literally disintegrated. Suspect too much sunshine has made plastic brittle over time, and it’s just gone. (We know MH spent its early years in Spain). Not a big job though. Got replacement from Towsure today, already got sealant as well. Things are ready to go as soon as rain stops. There’s a Tesco bag for life taped over vent hole at minute that’s holding up well😂 It’s a job we have done before, on one of our old vans......

I knew those bags for life would be good for re-using.

Millie, the flies were still in evidence today but vastly reduced. I did spray around the top with a fly killer to see if would keep some away but whilst inspecting the Heki saw 2 of the little blighters crawl under the plastic cover. I'm going to ask the Workshop to see if they can come up with a solution for future. It's going back for some very minor work at the end of October. I noticed our neighbour spraying his soffat board area today. He must be having the same problem. Lots in the village are moaning about them so it's not something unique to us. Hope the new car behaves itself.

Hope the new car behaves itself. We are still trying to work our way round all the 'gizmos' on it WN.
. (and ours is a fairly basic model) There seems to be such a lot to learn. Haven't cars changed a lot in the last 13 years! I think I will stick to driving my little old basic Cleo for now

Hi guys just got back at the weekend after spending 5 nights at Min-y-Don affiliated site in Harlech ,a North Wales. We went there with a view to buying a static .But having seen the regimented way everything is laid out and the distinct lack of privacy it’s put us off .We also visited a couple more sites but they to were very similar. So for us we are going to continue touring with the Caravan .

Just realised that tonight, WN 😞, but thanks all the same.☺

More rain for us overnight but it stayed fine all morning so was able to pack up, drive to Shrewsbury and then set up at our present CL in the dry, although the ground was rather damp. We then had a very heavy downpour as we finished lunch but have managed a couple of walks out in between more heavy showers. Can't say I'm looking forward to tomorrow though if the forecasts to be believed.😧

BrianJosie. We have sometimes thought about having a static but like you we are not sure about the layout of the sites. Also OH doesnt like the price of the annual fees which we would have no control over.

Interesting late afternoon and evening. Putting in new mushroom vent is on hold for a couple of days while we get a good dry day. So, set too and completed another task long overdue. Thirty odd years worth of Castle, Abbey, garden etc...... guidebooks to sort out. They have been cluttering up a couple of storage boxes in the attic, and periodically we take some out to use on our tours. But sometimes we forget, or end up going somewhere else and buy yet another of something we already have. Some of them were the old Blue HMSO guides which predate the likes of EH, Historic Scotland and Cadw. A lot as good as new as well, but we have outed loads. I have now sorted out our remaining guides into areas, so easier to grab and go. It was sort of a voyage back in time in some ways, a lot of the UK based holidays we have done. Some of the booklets still had receipts inside.
One little gem I did find. A price list for North Ledaig Club Site. This is where we originally joined Club, a very long time ago. Pitch price for a Member.........£1😂 £3.50 per adult. I think it was another £1 for a hook up, but I recall we had a loch side pitch that didn’t have a hook up point. £8 a night. I must have a look and see how it compares now.....😂

TtDA & WN -- if you find good uses for those " Bags for Life " then take care of your stocks. I only say that 'cos Morrissons are dipping the company toes in the water to see if PAPER bags are acceptable to their customers in some of their stores. All in view of being good ecologists of course, cost etc has nothing whatsoever to do with it
P.S. / EDIT should you see me leaving a supermarket with a plastic b~f~l you will easily recognise me ~~~ mine are held together by black gaffer tape !!

I have a veritable mountain of Waitrose plastic delivery bags, the only use I've found for them so far is when we go away and they become our bin bags...there are even some hanging from one of our apples trees, "decontaminating" from the last delivery.
It really is plastic bag world here and I was impressed by our one and only Morrison's delivery in brown carrier bags so good to hear they're trying to do a bit more. The bags for life I find useful in the van for shoes etc. as I don't need them for trips to town any more.

TDA we have a huge stash of travel maps, booklets, leaflets etc. I had a good clear out recently even though it was like saying goodbye to places we've visited. But I've hung on to some favourites which I can delve into on future trips to areas we know.
DSB, it certainly is a little wet today but hope you have a good beach day tomorrow. I've booked another visit to Monatcute, just a stroll around with OH, dog and visiting dog. There is some food available there so might have a snack and a drink...although it says no seating so looks like we'll have to find a picnic spot. 🍽

Should you end up near the nudist end of Studland don't leave your lap-top unattended !! remember the chappie in Germany who ended up chasing, starkers, a female wild boar which was dashing off with a bright bag -- with his lappy in it !!
At least his sense of humour was intact 'cos he gave his blessing to a lady who posted the 'race' on some site or other -- the video moved faster than he did ~~ went viral quite quickly I seem to recall

We have also had hundreds of plastic bags with our Waitrose deliveries, including one week a load "Bags for life" I am not sure what the answer is at least whilst COVID lasts? The problem with with plastic bags is that they are cheaper to produce than paper, different matter it you then work out the costs through to recycling but that is often not taken into account. When we used to shop in store in Waitrose we always used their Quick Check system where you go round the store with a scanner. I am not sure how long the system has been going but it must be in excess of ten years. When we started we were issued with a set of green bags (see picture below) and these last years and years and compared to the number of thinner plastic bags we would have used must be very good for the environment if you take useful life into account. As we have only been having regular deliveries under COVID conditions I don't know what happened to deliveries in the past?

With deliveries, you could, and still can, select bagged or unbagged, the difference now is that if you select unbagged, they still come bagged, but you are not charged the extra 40p.
We find the Waitrose bags are so huge that they fit well in our under sink bin, and make excellent bin liners. Far too big for in the caravan though.
As we are only occasional Waitrose shoppers, about once every 8 weeks to fill the freezer, our stash of bags thus far is small.

There are myriad uses for plastic bags, even the "one time" variety. In our household they certainly have a long and fruitful life until their final role as a "gash bag"

The central compartment of our car is our store for our green Co-Op bags. I never buy a plastic bag these days, the Co-Op ones are used everywhere. Should one break, I take it in the next time I go to the shop and they replace it free. Works for us!!

We have a few Sports Direct bags that we use when we go food shopping, and a clue of Asda "bags for life" as backup or for light shopping, which get exchange when one is ripped.
It has rained on and off most of the day, but did manage a few short walks without getting too wet. There's been low clouds covering The Wrekin all day, well at least when we could see it!!
