Prisoner in our own house as we keep getting dive bomb by adult Seagulls if we step out

We went on a Gin Distillery Tour this morning. Very well organised, yet it’s harder to engage with the guide when masked up. We’ve bought some samples for us and the family back home.
We are currently sat outside relaxing - and (not voluntarily ) listening to the snooker coming from a nearby caravan. Time for some music on our Bluetooth speaker?

Took the MH out for the day hoping to find some warmer sunny weather, no chance I'm afraid.
Went to Falkirk to the 'Wheel' very busy there despite it being 16c and very overcast. Had a walk then went down and looked at the wheel, a boat had just gone in the bottom and one arrived at the top so was able to see them do their change around. Back to the MH for lunch.
Drive home was a different way as going, still overcast and chilly. Been home an hour and the clouds parted and the sun came out, flipping typical
didn't last long though now back to grey skies, we need a good stiff breeze.WN, good to hear you have a trip sorted. We haven't yet looked at anything seriously. We might head north at some point, I fancy going to Orkney but would need to really commit to that as there are very few places to stay so would need to book. With so many sites closed this year in the Highlands its not easy, the sites that are open are very busy and as you know there are very few CL's on the northerly west coast. That would be with the MH.
Also thinking of working our way down the East coast depending on how things go might be all the way down to Kent. That would be the caravan though but not until the little darlings are all safely back in school

Gto my nephew coming to see us either tonight or tomorrow, he's currently in Ullapool with a walking group. Depends on how tired he is after today's walk. If to tired he come down tomorrow.

en a lovely warm day here in Ayrshire 23 degrees. Haven’t done much had a lazy morning just sitting outside the van under the sun canopy. Site is very busy, in the afternoon we took a drive down to Maidens and had a walk around the nice little harbour surprisingly is wasn’t very busy. Returned to the van about 4 and cooked pizza on the Cadac now just sitting out having a drink outside won’t be doing much tonight probably just go in and watch the snooker. Sounds like you have nice weather too Goldie

TG - I think it's easier finding places on CLs but difficult building in a tour. Good luck.
Francis - Keep the noise down on the snooker otherwise you might have an irate farmer knocking on your door.

Got to try out our new hedge cutter today. Pleased with it. Neighbour supposed to cut the overhanging stuff on his side of the fence, our bushes, but seems to have fallen out with both us and neighbour the other side of him, and the neighbour a few doors down and the one across the road.... yadayadayada. So I bought a Gtech with elongated reach. Pity about the cuttings landing on his side but he can always return them.😀
Been a nice and sunny day.
Hope Goldie doesn't get through too many samples.
Oneputt - Have you ever been bombed by a Bonxie? Make the Herring Gulls seem like being given a gentle kiss.

It's even more overgrown now, Tda. The steps up to the Keep are one unsafe and barriered off, but was still worth a visit, and we were the only ones up there, so no social distancing problems😂. Not read the book so that's another to look out for.
Wonder who will be in the Ineos team for the tour.....Will they take 3 previous winners or will Chris Froome miss out, as he seems to be the weakest at the moment?

Dull and overcast here today, although still warm and a bit sticky. Visited Croft Castle and walked up to the hill fort and then along the escarpment edge to Bircher Common where we had our picnic. Back through the forest then around the castle gardens. Called in at Aldi in "Lemster" to restock and managed an hour or so sat outside the van reading before and after dinner. It's just started to spit with rain a minute or so ago.

Busy day here, weather started grey, then by 2pm we had hot sunshine right through till after 6. Very warm in the house when we got home.
This morning I slid the old combi oven downstairs on a sheet and got it to the front door. DD and family eventually arrived so SIL could carry it to their car, they were delayed by a leaking shower screen and a leaking radiator that had to be mopped up, plus a visit to the local pet shop to look at budgies.

We had hoped they would not replace the one that had to be put to sleep as they still have 2, but now they are talking of getting 2 more! Nice as they are, they do make a lot of mess, plus OH is allergic to the dust, so not good news.
The 2 of them went off home via the tip, Callum stayed with us for a while to investigate all the interesting things here, then we went to their house as it was his nap time. He fell asleep about 2 minutes from home, but woke when we stopped, so it was a quick snack for him and into his push chair for a walk with Gran , while the rest of us did more clearing and demolition of old cupboards in the garage.
After lunch we hung the cupboards they wanted to keep for storage, with help from Callum, and loaded up DD's car for another trip to the tip tomorrow. Was nice to come home and put my feet up!
We have ordered a new shower valve etc, first step towards a new bathroom, as the temperature control on our current one is getting poor. It should fit where our present one is, but if not, then the new bathroom will need to be done sooner than later!

Trying to look at sites but the web site has other ideas, so difficult to see anything on here today. Complete change in the weather, dark and damp all day, much time spent in the kitchen wondering what to do with the surfit of homegrown veg etc., OH and daughter's partner doing more apple grinding under the dripping trees...was given a bottle of our own apple juice at the end of the day!
Reading your posts...Oneputt you should cultivate the smaller ones, will try and post a photo of our daily visitor. 🐥

A much cooler day here only 20C outside after a horrendous thunderstorm last night which kept going away and then coming back around the sound was like the Great Wall of China falling down and right over the top of the house so no sleep for a few hours and electric kept tripping out so left it off through the night but at least the dishwasher managed to finish as we use do it overnight on a cheaper rate, did not have much rain like we did a few nights ago 12.6mm but the water butts are now full.
Like your photo brue. The birds are busy on the feeder and using the bird baths.
Enjoy your day folks and keep safe.

Good to read folks news.
We've lost the heat thankfully but gained humidity 😱. We're in the mid 20's for last couple of days BUT we have had HEAVY showers. Got caught in one, totally mistimed short dog walk never been so wet without it being intended. Only plus point it was warm. 40mm in a hour at one point! Subways almost up to the roof and general flooding. Son played golf about 20 minutes away and never got any!
Had great few days with son and grand dog, sadly departing soon. Huge boost to us both. Jobs done here and help at mums as well a catch up with us and with friends. Don't want him to go 😪 but hopefully we'll catch up bank.holiday weekend with DIL too.

Glad you had a nice weekend B2
We got home a while ago from a nice weekend away in the van at The Ranch in Maybole one of our local sites great weather all weekend so we didn’t do much just relaxed around the van and took a short drive down to Maidens for a walk around yesterday very nice. Home today after a man easy 45 minute tow got van back in its space easy enough as cul de sac was clear. We were going to go away mid week but SWMBO has a hair appointment on Thursday so we will wait and go away again on Friday just for the weekend again just local but nice to get away not been at home during the weekend for almost 8 weeks now lol.
KJ just for info if your are still planning on heading to the Ranch next month the play area is. Is open so should be ok if you have the little one with you the pool is however still closed.

Same here weatherwise B2, washed the kitchen floor and it didn't dry out for several hours.
A much better combination to have the dog and son, we seem to just get the dog! (Will be here again next week but as we're off again soon someone else is taking charge of him for a few days, luckily he will have a nice time at his next holiday retreat too. 🐕)
We did a big local walk this mornng as we had an event going on locally which required a walk around the area. This lead to much chatting with other locals so took awhile to do the circuit. Just got back before the clouds opened again.
We are awash with apples too...🍏🍏🍏

Another dull grey day here, no rain just dull.
Nephew arrived last night just after 9 pm, we had a good catch up for a few hours while he had a couple of beers and relaxed after his day walking the hills, was a fairly late night. Off down south back to his home and wife this morning again after breakfast.
OH spent the morning cutting another one of our big Leylandii hedges while I dug up a hosta, clipped a Hebe and moved a rose bush.
Bit of lunch then off to the skip to get rid of 6 big bags of garden rubbish.
A9 very busy both ways today, lots of caravans and even more MH's, good being a local you know all the back roads around the villages to miss the worst of it.

One of the first things we learnt when we moved here 30+ years ago were the back roads. When we first moved over the A55 wasn't the straight through to Angelsey affair that it now is and traffic heading along the top road, as it was called as opposed to the Coast road, passed through 2 villages within a mile of us, our main way home at that time. The traffic in summer was atrocious so we quickly found longer but ultimately shorter alternatives. It's quite astonishing how much has changed in a relatively short period of time.
Had quite a bit of rain today, on and off. Always dull but still warm. Not much achieved today. Spent some time in the attic stashing some stuff that was taking up room for where the new freezer will hopefully be going. That arrives Tuesday.

We had rain over night but it was dry for first walk out with Flyte. Drove along to Black Pool car park and went for a walk in Mortimer Forest. It started to rain just as we turned round back towards the car but we had taken our brollies so didn't get too wet, although Flute was like a drowned rat. It was dry back at the site and stayed fine till about 5:00 when we had a tremendous downpour which lasted for about 20 mins. During our afternoon walk we gathered a large back of windfall apples, most of which we stewed in the microwave, and they taste very nice too. Might collect some more before we head away on Tuesday.
Good to hear your news, B2.We
TG, could the amount of traffic be due to Scots heading home before children to back to school tomorrow?

TG, could the amount of traffic be due to Scots heading home before children to back to school tomorrow?
Could be but the majority of kids up here started back last week nellie. Seems to be lots of English up here just now. I supposed with so many countries now not safe to travel they are having to find other places to go.
My nephew who was up at Ullapool hill walking said he couldn't believe how many MH's there were. Many parked at the side of the roads and in layby's. He said that in one of the car parks he had used folk were parking vehicles just anywhere and causing lots of problems as they were blocking others in.
We are hoping to get away for a few days midweek will have to make sure we have a booking first. I think Scotland is just about full.

Sitting outside the caravan at the moment at Hunter's Moon CAMC site. I was beginning to think we might have made a mistake booking a Serviced pitch. The only one left was pitch 1.... right by the barrier! I thought we would be bothered by being on a really 'busy pitch'. In reality, everyone has stopped to say hello.... and the sun has come out.... Off out shopping in a moment, and we might even check out Studland beach.. 👍👍

Another grey day today, not warm, not cold but a top is required when going out. Looking out the window it looks like winter, dark and grey

Not done a lot today other than try and put together a trip for September. Finally got some sites booked, only 1 of them C&MC all the rest are with the other club. Pitches were disappearing before my eyes as I was booking them. Lost a date on one day, when trying to book 4 days at a site, so we've had to go with 2 days grass and 2 days H/S, I will give the site a call and see if they can sort something out, if not it won't matter we'll just move.
Have also managed to get a few days at Rosemarkie, couldn't book it on line although it was shown as being available. Gave the site a call they explained that there are 2 days available but not on the same pitch (seemingly all the pitches are different sizes) the system can't tell you that
the site staff worked miracles and managed to move things around and we now have 2 days on the same pitch
Couldn't believe it as its a Sat/Sunday. Going to Culloden for 3 days before.Going out tonight for dinner with our son and Gkids, the children are going back to school tomorrow. First time eating out for us since Covid so will see how comfortable we feel doing so.
I've got a mountain of ironing that needs doing but it will have to wait until tomorrow.

I hope DSB checks out the "right" end of Studland Beach...

TG I've been adding to our holidays today, decided to get away while we can as it looks like a long winter ahead. So we're sort of going back wards and forwards to sites down here before we head off north. Not easy finding dates that fit due to everything being busy.
Hope you enjoy Rosemarkie, I really like the village, the dolphins and the sea views! 🐬
I might , just might, listen into Poldark being read on R4 Book at Bedtime tonight, I liked the clip I heard earlier, lots of rrr's being rolled.

Grandson announced they are expecting two budgies...🐦🦜
The heavy rain has just started again, looking a bit Autumnal but still warm.

Glad to hear you had a good time with your son bakers2. Although it is always sad when they leave it is great to have them for a few days. I hope grand-dog and your puppy got on well.
It has been a case of 'be careful what you wish for' here. Having been desperate for rain we have been deluged with the stuff since Thursday with thunder and lightening. Thursday was the worst with absolutely horrendous downpours. We got caught out in it and were drenched - had to have a complete change of clothes when we got home. Ankle deep in water at one point. My sandals will never be the same again. Driving home was frightening. The drains couldnt cope and the roads flooded. Luckily we werent as badly affected as some who had their houses and businesses flooded poor souls. It was nearly as bad yesterday. It is still very hot and humid. Eldest son and DIL popped over this afternoon to tell us about their lovely holiday in N.Yorkshire. Message for Rocky - they loved their walks in Dalby Forest. I think you recommended it to us. We have booked flights to go over and see youngest son and family in N. Ireland - hooray at last - we havent seen them for nearly 6 months so cant wait. I just hope we dont get locked down again in the meantime.
I hope you enjoy your meal out TG. We have booked for next week under the 'eat out to help out scheme'. We havent had a meal out since our holiday in March.
Make sure you go to the right end of Studland Beach DSB. Well whatever is the right end for you 😏

Good to hear that both of you have got sorted with sites, TG and brue.
Funny sort of a day weatherwise today. After rain over night it was dry on rising and for our first walk. After breakfast drove over to Ludlow for a wander around....surprised how quiet the town was. Then we went onto the Whitcliffe forest car park and of course it rained again when we were out walking. Dry by the time we got back to the car and also at the site where the sun came out and OH was able to do some washing and got it dry before we had dinner. Last night for us at Portway before we start our homeward journey, so heading to Shrewsbury tomorrow. Was able to book a slot to visit NT's Attingham on Thursday.

Strange day all around.
Haircut this morning thanks to Mrs.WN. Then off to Halfords in Chester to buy a new Tyre Pump and Gauge as our old one doesn't do 65psi. Heavy rain down by the Dee but clear at home.
After lunch I went into the caravan to get something and was horrified at what I saw. We have the windows on vent with mesh blind pulled down but in view of the recent storms have left the Heki's closed but again with the mesh blind pulled across. The large front Heki had about 3 dozen Flies swarming around on the mesh. They must have crawled under the Heki plastic. None whatsoever in the caravan. Of course I had to open the blind to open the roof. We've noticed a huge increase today in flies around the house and assume the larvae have all hatched. Nothing dead that we can see (or smell) and all outside but we had to shut the windows smartish.
Not in best of moods when I logged in to the forum to find a post of mine had gone AWOL. DK seems to have found it and has suitably punished it. But it didn't put me in any better of a mood. I think Strop would be the correct word.
Then a key ingredient to dinner seemed to have disappeared. I remember buying it last week!
Somehow we coped. Maybe that's what the flies were after.
I think I may have had better days.

Just read your post millie. You have had it worse than us by the sounds of it. We've had plenty of thunder and lightning and some heavy downpours but not seen any flooding and we've not had a soaking ourselves although getting caught out in the rain a few times. Good to hear that you're finally getting to go over to Ireland again. We too might be taking advantage of the "eat out to help out" scheme when son and DIL come over to see us at Shrewsbury on Saturday.
