We normally buy the fresh pizzas from the supermarket and if need be we can add some of our own toppings. We usually let the stone heat up for 5-10 mins before putting the pizza on and they always cook well doing it that way. One thing to remember is to always have the lid on when cooking the pizza this cooks both sides. The bottom of ours does get crispy but rarely Burnt we always find it cooks nice on the Cadac Aafter a couple of minutes cooking time turn the pizza round 180 degrees this ensures that it doesn’t stick to the stone. Hope this helps
Mille - You should visit the castle if you get a chance it’s highly recommend and the views across the town are really nice there is also a large area to sit with a cup of tea and a sandwich.

Our Cadac is the older type so we don’t have the temperature gauge on the lid but I do always cook the pizza on full powers so it’s as warm as possible and this works well. Once you get it right they are cooked well on it best way to cook pizza in my opinion

Just back from a walk up to our local farm shop for veg and bird food, it's very warm and humid but no sunshine.
Francis: although I must have visited Scarborough hundreds of times I have never visited the castle, but I really must. Never tried pizza on the cadac, but then we haven't got a pizza stone ours is now old, we did manage to replace the plate last year but most accessories are now a different size.

Millie sorry to read the news about your grand daughters fiance, I hope he finds another job soon, is he enjoying being a full time stay at home Dad?
Good news this week my little car passed its MOT, now I have to decide whether its worth keeping it, insurance is due soon.

Good job I packed the car and caravan yesterday and mowed the lawns as today has been a washout.
Millie, I really cannot understand why people will not do everything in their power to either prevent giving the virus to other people or catching it. We would be willing to leave our details. Let's face it most internet shoppers willingly hand out their names, addresses, phone numbers and sometimes their personal details like DoB. The mind boggles.
Done nothing much today. Bought a fair amount of Premium Bonds as the interest rates are rubbish at the moment and looked on the website to try to find a cottage that the 3 of us would be comfortable renting. Don't want anywhere too populated but don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere. Tricky finding one that will give us some interest but keep us relatively safe.
Thanks to those who have wished us a decent break away with the outfit. As far as I know there will only be the 2 units on site for most of it.

I have been out with Mum and Sister all afternoon. Another drive out and picnic. We drove right through the Strines area OP, dozens of birdwatchers out, trying to catch a glimpse. I couldn’t find a park up to ask if anyone had spotted it. Drizzle all afternoon, but the scenery was still lovely. Worryingly, the towns and villages were heaving with folks, and there wasn’t a deal of social distancing happening.☹️
We had same scare re case rate a couple of weeks ago Millie. Couple of areas in town where things are going wrong. It’s so frustrating.

Well wot a ro10 day
. Woke to the steady drip drip drip of rain, decided to get an extra paper for Saturday puzzles 'cos there will be no crikkit in Manchester today. Got myself all set up then ball-point ran out, and while hunting for it's replacement, the mobile went !! One of my old workmates, aka Radio-station, called to say another ex-BT engineer has gone to that great exchange up above. So more checking on 'Attendances' etc etc.And it's still raining

Truly it's been a horrid day and it's only 17:15

Some days just happen like this ABM, very sorry to hear about your friend. Are you still ploughing through your photo collection? It’s one of those task that I feel I ought to do, we have hundreds of lovely photos, and they really need a good sort out.
We are missing a lot of the sport we like to watch, both live and on TV. But there are some great memories from the past in terms of sports events on various TV channels, and on iplayer, so we are watching the odd event.

Helen, yes grand-daughter's OH is thoroughly enjoying being a full time Daddy and would be more than happy staying at home with him full time if they could afford to live on grand-daughter's pay but they can't unfortunately. I agree WN. I really wanted to ask people what their problem was with leaving their details. I explained how secure it was but it was 'No, I don't do things like that'. As you say they probably give out all sorts of their details on social media etc. The mind boggles.
Sorry you have having such a rotten day ABM. I hope things are better for you tomorrow.
Grey and very muggy here today. I have just had to order a new iron from our local Argos (which thankfully has re-opened) as mine went up in a puff of smoke and a bang

A friend told me yesterday that the pub in their village has a book swap table in their entrance so OH went over there today, took a bag of books and came home with 4 for himself- He is well pleased.

TtDA & Millie,
Thanks for your kind thoughts, but alas, it's just life isn't it
as they say it's just one darned thing after another. Anyway yes TtDA, Brian's still ploughing through his slides, but at a slower pace now. That is due to the new edition of the "Register" which only lists some 3 thousand 8 hundred engines to be verified. !! Then it will be back to the slog
despite the weather over Old Trafford

Just looking at news, couple of lovely photos of Princess Beatrice and her new OH. It was her dress that caught my eye. Apparently vintage Norman Hartnell, designed originally for The Queen, and remodelled for Princess. Beautiful dress.
Gorgeous day here, OH is hitting the roads later, so the pooch and I are going to go for a stroll, then have a nice lazy day. I am going to sort out MH later, for another day out somewhere this week. But where to go?🤔

Skies clear now over Cheshire, so if it is the same where you are TtDA then the quieter country roads should be your bucket I guess, TtDA !
Just take care where you choose, tho', 'cos I watched " Helicopter ER " or some such prog, yesterday. A cyclist had only done 5 miles or so after a mid-morning break, when his h/bars got tangled and down he went thuddump !! a nice big break by femur / pelvis joint. BUT while the medico's attended him they reckoned about sixty { 60 } other cyclists went by, with barely a single mph slower
and some were muttering about other road users daring to be on their chosen territory, thank you very much
Wherever you go travel safely & enjoyably please

I too saw the wedding photos, and agree Princess Beatrice's dress was lovely, they also had a photo of the Queen wearing the dress in 1962.
Very warm here again and a but more sunshine, had a wander into town as its usually quieter on a Sunday, I only needed a few bits from Wilko's, just wish people wouldn't stand around on their phones in the middle of aisles, totally oblivious to everything and everyone
OH is mowing our little patch of grass, may have to go and sit out and admire his handiwork

Hi all I'm here reading but not posted site sooooooo slow! Busy here mums house has sold sstc so much to do and tired when finished. All very emotional on top of the other strange days. Odd wobble too. But we'll get through it. Currently at West Mersea to show Dora the beach, having called in my brother's to sign some paperwork. Delighted to say he's taking the lead on everything which is great. Son and DIL down Friday night loaded the furniture they wanted from mum's. Amazing the amount you can get in a Discovery! DIL drove that all back and son spent night and Saturday with us with more stuff in, just 4 bits at ours for next time we meet. Wonderful but harder when he went. Charity coming week after next for furniture and other stuff for housing the homeless so hopefully all going to a good cause. Certainly isn't easy! As many of you will know.
Stay safe folks nice to read of folks doings 😉

It’s OH whose out AB, not me. He’s been knocked off his cycle a couple of times in past by motorists. Thankfully neither time badly injured, but lots of cuts and bruises. He was off down canal path and up into Wentworth Woodhouse area today, I get regular messages to let me know he’s ok.
Its lovely here, so nothing is getting done beyond reading a good book. The old fashioned way as well. It’s made of paper😂

I too loved Princess Beatrice's dress. Our paper has a photo of the Queen wearing it to open Parliament in 1966. The tiara she wore was the same one worn by the Queen Mother and also the Queen on their wedding days.I also thought the arch of flowers over the church door was absolutely beautiful.
Good to hear from you Bakers2. Gosh you are having a busy time. Good news that the house has sold but I am sure you have mixed feelings. It brought back memories of clearing my parent's place after my Dad died. It was terribly emotional and I still have some of their things here. One is a dish that they used to put the crisps and peanuts in at Christmas and other family gatherings. It is terribly kitch and 1970s but I would never part with it. How lovely to see your son and DIL but I know what you mean about saying goodbye.
We have just heard that the Knights Chamber in the Cathedral precincts is going to be used for one of the Nightingale Courts to clear some of the backlog of court cases.. It is a beautiful room. Also Prince William was in Peterborough on Thursday visiting Garden House in the precincts which is a drop in day centre for the homeless. They do marvellous work and with other agencies in Peterborough have managed to find work and homes for a great many of their previously homeless guests. It is so good to see Peterborough in the news for some good things for a change.

Cruel of him to do that, TtDA !! leaving you sitting watching the big clouds building, and he's telling you how the pollinators are enjoying the wild flowers, but hopefully not like the cloud of flying ants seen just off the channel coast !!

Had a nice gentle drive of 40 minutes to a CL and sunshine. No one else on the CL and 1 acre to lounge in.
Owner did say that they 1 other booked in for this week so might have to shift the sunloungers a bit.Off to Dunham Massey tomorrow. Haven't been at this time of year before so we are looking forward to it.
Had to pop into local Waitrose for a couple of things I, not we, forgot.
Went through the basket till and went to pay only to realise the lady in front of us had left her credit card on the payment machine and our transaction went through on it. Fortunately she was a member of staff so was easy to find and card duly returned to her and our transaction put through again. Did notice we were the only ones in the store with masks on.
Good to hear from you B2. Puppies are more tiring than husbands and that's saying something.😀

Glad to hear you had a good journey WN and are well settled. It sounds idyllic.

Not much to report, although today has been the best weather wise for nearly a week. Did a bit of gardening this afternoon and cut down the top of an old dead tree ready for dispatch to the recycling centre on Tuesday. Usual walks out with Flyte, although it is noticeable that there are not the numbers out walking as there were when lockdown was introduced. Last evening had a pleasant co conversation with a guy going off to a CL today. Glad to hear that they arrived safely too.
Not had change to read all the latest on here, as WiFi reception is very iffy. Hope all is well and those away are having a good time.

OH survived his none assisted ride pleased to report👍 I had a surprise visit from a Mum and Sis this afternoon, they called in with a load of home made bread and tea cakes. We had a pleasant hour in garden in sunshine. Then it was back to book for me. I have done very little but read today, other than dog walk and cook evening meal. Don’t feel guilty one little bit. But I do need to catch up on one or two emails😉
The MH didn’t get sorted out, but to quote Scarlett o Hara “tomorrow is another day” 😂

Has anyone who has been eligible for the free TV licence for the past few years had any notification about renewing their licence at the end of this month? We have heard nothing other than a few scam emails a few months ago and I am now not sure what we should be doing.

I am waiting to hear what happens for Mum🤷♀️ BBC have said they must pay, but to await another letter I think. Leaving it a tad close though, and there will be lots of the most vulnerable worrying about this. I kept the original letter Mum was sent, so might see if I can phone for her. Thanks for reminder👍

Can you let me know please TDA if you get any joy. I am not sure that I have been as organised as you and I don't think I still have the original letter. I will have a hunt.

Does this help? https://www.tvlicensing.co.uk/check-if-you-need-one/for-your-home/aged-74-and-over-aud3?wt.mc_id=bbc_pr_o75_english Some people will still be entitled to a free licence if they are on Pension Credit. The link does invite people to sign in to look at options but for those not used to computer or doing things online that could be a problem.
