I like the piccies but if the house and road have anything to do with TV programme then I'm not your man. I watch so little and then it's very selective.

Well done on the 55 miles.smile

Goldie thank you so much for the link. That is not a flattering photo, but that's our girl 😉.

I've since received readable copies from our son and DIL's mum who has the paper at the mo.

    Go girl go I say.

OH brue still no test and the business secretary got one and had the result within 24 hours 😉

Jury is out on the dog training session. She was late, I suspect taking on too much! She was here almost 3 hours much talk but little training showing but happy to see us again 🤔 for a fee, and encouraged us to join the agility and training class for 1 hour, shes 10 weeks old! At £35 a session, 15 minutes of training 15 minutes agility, followed by training, a shared class with others 🤐.

If anything I'd say she's knocked my confidence right back - and despite telling her about OH it appeared so took no notice  😤

Never mind you live and learn, I took her testimonials at face value and the recommendations i received.....

Sorry to hear of both your experiences, B2 and brue. As B2 said one lives and learns.

Great pictures, Corners, and well done with the mileage. I struggle to do 20 on my bike round here....too many hills and two too old legs!!

After a light rain shower over night the day started fine and calm, however the wind has steadily increased, but apart from a very short shower it has stayed dry. We haven't done quickly lot apart from changing the front room curtains, and giving the shower cabinet a thorough cleaning, and of course getting the miles in with Flyte.

    Its finally raining smilecool

not looking forward to the gales tonight and all day tomorrow though!

had a ride out on the Enfield today, OH has been advised to wear facemasks by her surgery, so went on the search, found some in the Range, Dorchester, so bought a pack of 25 not cheap but we have some now. They will be needed if I have to use public transport or even for camping if that's part of what the sites need to implement to open.

It was nice 35 mile ride out if a bit breezy, not as far as a 55 mile cycle ride though, I bow down to your efforts wink

Dry today and the sun is out bit on the chilly side but at least the wet stuff has stopped for a while.

Very slow start to the day can't seem to get motivated yet. I did all the housework yesterday so nothing much needs to be done inside. Think I'll go and check the hanging baskets and containers, we've had rain but they never seem to get it.

OH is out working on the new driveway, he has finally got the bolts that he needs to secure next doors part of the front fence. Couldn't get them locally so as usual the internet came up trumps. He was busy working in the caravan yesterday making a protective and hopefully soundproof box for the water pump and filter. It looks to be a good job he's made just need to connect some water and try it out. Why do these onboard pumps make so much noise, its embarrassing if its early/late in the day when you run water.

Nice to read your posts. Fingers crossed I'm feeling a lot better this evening and have got my sense of taste and smell back, I went into the greenhouse and could smell the tomato plants, it was lovely!

Hello Brue, glad to hear you are feeling better.  I wondered if you had seen my recent contribution on here (no idea how many pages back now!) about the COVID study group run by King’s College London?  We have been contributing for some time now and basically it involves checking in each day to say how you are feeling, with sometimes some extra questions.  They have about 3.8 million contributors at present but  always looking for more.  We joined to help the science in our very small way.  I was feeling unwell a few weeks ago and reported accordingly on my daily check in and was invited for a test.  We fortunately have a test centre near York so I went along.  I was negative.  I don’t know if you would have received a home test from them any quicker but I feel you may have done.  If you would like to read more please check out and perhaps join:-  https://covid.joinzoe.com

Thanks heddlo, it's interesting to hear about the study, I did read your previous post. I am guessing but I think the majority of testing is probably being done on a need to know basis eg where an outbreak has occurred or for key worker's needs.

Not necessarily Brue as with my test I was asked to book as a ‘volunteer’.  I think that the King’s/Zoe study has an allocation of tests irrespective of the main NHS/Government guidelines.  If you report suspicious symptoms (I was tired and had a sore throat) the scheme may ask if you want a test.

We had that problem when we first got the present van back in 2008, it made a terrible noise!    The first thing I did was to fit an accumulator (I forget the other name for it)  which smooths the pressure changes,  then I looked at the pipework. ( The only filter we have is the mesh  one at the pump)

I wanted to move the valves for filling and using from our on board tank anyway, as Swift had put them in a difficult to access place, so in conjunction with moving them I removed as many right angle joins as possible and made curves in the pipes instead.

At the same time I loosened off all the pipes and made sure none of them were touching the walls or furniture, or tightly screwed down, padding them with foam where required.  I also mounted the pump on some old carpet tile bits rather than straight to the floor.  We later had to get a new pump, which sits differently and is actually not fixed to anything other than the pipes.

Lastly I made a padded lift off cover for it.  Now we can hardly hear it, which sometimes means we do not realise we have run out of water!

😖 Well that went well. Decided to fit a new outside porch light with LED bulb this morning. Everything was going OK until I was fitting the glass / protective cover. Screw slipped out of hole and in a bid to rescue it I managed to drop the glass 7 feet or so onto the floor. It shattered into a million pieces. Fortunately I had only just purchased it on Amazon, so it is still available. You have to buy the full thing though. Ah well at least I will get a spare bulb.😂

wasn't it broken when you opened the box? winktongue-out

Well the rain didn't last long, forecast said rain from 10 pm last night through to midnight tonight, it lasted about 2 hours! they were right about the wind though, 'proper' gusty, chilly as well.

I've moved the MH onto the road, anything over 50mph winds its the safest thing to do as there is potential for it to be blown over as happened to a neighbours caravan in December, perks of living on a cliff top facing west!  moving Molly has cleared the driveway ready to do a full service and cambelt change on the car, which I will get on with tomorrow if the weather calms down a bit.

oh hang on the cushions from the garden furniture have just blown over the wall...………….

Decided to change my mind today and not take the caravan for a drive in the country. Too windy, otherwise...

Rained through the night or at least was raining everytime I woke up, which seemed to be quite often last night.

Had a brisk walk after lunch. Cobwebs to be found somewhere east of us now.

Not up to a great deal more today. Even partly prepared dinner for tonight yesterday so not a lot more to do.

This website today is driving me barmy.yell

Mixed day here, one minute lovely sunshine, next minute showers, but the wind is a constant🌬

Had a sort out day. Lots of old receipts filed, we only keep the electrical and expensive ones, but it’s worth doing. Haircut for OH, breadmaking, a bit more polishing of brass, checking on stuff in greenhouse. A good rummage under bed in spare room has turned up lots of material suitable for masks, so at least when we finally do get out and about Mother Diva can co-ordinate her outfits😂

I am going to make a fish tagine for dinner tonight, nice to have something a bit different, and it’s a very easy recipe.

I feel a bit restless today. I feel like I should be buying something.......🤔

We have just had a thunderstorm 🌩⛈. Typical - instead of a few days of nice gentle rain for the garden we are getting torrential rain and high winds which is battering everything to death 😟

I hope your cobwebs pass over us, I dusted earlier this week, can’t be altering my monthly schedule you know!😂

I know Millie, all that effort from my roses, and they are taking a right battering. I have decided to cut some for house, before rain ruins them or wind blows them to bits😢

Brass cleaning takes me back a long way.

We were "provided" with a weeks holiday when we young at my Great Aunts house in Liverpool. She collected brass like some women collect shoes, with a fervour, and of course one of the ways of paying for the holiday was to spend hours with a Brasso tin. Had to get it right so we had those prong like metal fingers that used to slip under buttons and the like.

They were, on the whole, very kind to the 3 of us. Big brother was excused. She reminded me of one of those women you see in a Beryl Cook postcard. Large shall we say. He was like that advert for the taxman with a bowler hat. Small with a moustache. Loved each other to bits.

Never bought a brass item in my life thanks to them.laughing

We don’t have much brass, just one or two really nice unusual things that need the occasional tickle. It’s a task I loathe to be honest, but it’s sort of a link with my lovely MIL. She gave us her fabulous grandfather clock, which has brass hinges, on the condition I “did the hinges”. My sister used to work for an antique dealer, and she can spot something nice and valuable, hence she has given us a couple of nice pieces. One is a very tactile round tea caddy dating from Great Exhibition in London. It’s known in the house as “the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch”🤣 Full of Earl Grey tea. Regular visitors like to have a sniff😁

I confess to cleaning our few bits of brass once a year (Granny's candlesticks etc and a trivet OH made at school) I then cultivate the dull look seen amongst many brass playing musicians nowadays. wink

Having trouble typing this, words being removed if I go back to re-type.

Chilly and windy here. They won't be on the beaches today!

Nearly finished an awful puzzle, an Impressionist painting, fifty shades of blue skies and sea! Last puzzle for a while. yell

I know what you mean brue, some puzzles are just not interesting enough. Mum and Sis collect old jigsaws, they have some fantastic ones, things like old chocolate bars, and brands from the past. I find these great because it’s like doing lots of little jigsaws, perfect for whiling away an hour here and there.

Thanks for the raindance JVB, but you can stop now please😂

After weeks of being at home we ventured out to have a social distancing meet up with our youngest son and his girlfriend this morning, it was an early start to get up to the NT car park at Hawksmoor.  We haven't seen them in the flesh since the beginning of March. We enjoyed a lovely circular walk of a couple of hours. The rain held off until we were nearly back at the car park and then the heavens opened laughing

Sorry to read you haven't been feeling well Brue, after all the government's promises re testing I was surprised you couldn't get one, then again undecided

Reading posts re jigsaws we have a new one,  the picture is of our son and his girlfriend. They had a photo of themselves made into a jigsaw puzzle. smile
