Sweet pea and lettuce seeds planted today also trailing geranium plugs. All ordered by mail order. If anyone wants any sweet pea seeds I can recommend Easton Walled Garden. The are famous for growing their own and they have never let me down. I ordered by post this year for obvious reasons and they arrived by return, beautifully packaged.

You'll find that programme on at 12.00 and this year they are devoting alternative weeks to various aspects and works of Beethoven, so it's a different composer every other week. It's the 250th.Anniversary of Beethovens birth, hence the exposure.
The programme on before it at 9.00 is quite entertaining as well, especially if it is presented by Ian Skelly. He has a dry sense of humour. We tend to record this programme and listen to it at night as we're usually too busy in the morning. Not much of a TV viewer, either of us. In fact Mrs WN would be quite happy getting rid of it.

Thanks Bakers, I don't have kitten food but do have 1yr + cat food that I can chop up finer.
Have seen the hedgehog houses in the thread you mentioned, must show them to OH being as he now has to build one
The other morning we did notice a dropping but wasn't sure if it was resident or passing hedgehog.
We had a resident one a few years ago but had to get it looked at, as one of its back legs was giving it trouble, all swollen up and hot. It was collected from us but never came back so not sure how it got on.

My knowledge of Beethoven is restricted to his being so deaf that he thought he was a painter ...
I was naive enough to sign up for a tourist visit to his tomb. What a con! It must have been one of those jobbing actor types, dressed in the powdered wig and frock coat, sitting at a desk, using an eraser on some manuscript paper.
When I protested to the Tour Guide, she explained that it was actually Beethoven behind the desk. To my follow up question of what he was doing, she replied gently, 'What you would expect, sir. He is just decomposing ...'
I'll get my coat.

We used to make our own Easter Eggs as children. We helped Mum make the chocolate moulds, then she decorated them as a surprise. She was brilliant at sugar craft, so it was always something lovely. And our names of course.
Nice little surprise this afternoon. I am sat out watching all birds in our garden, and a couple of blue tits have taken up residence in a bird box we put up this Winter. We are getting a lot more starlings as well. I think it might be because Retail Park where they usually hang out, picking up crumbs, is virtually deserted. So they are looking to gardens more for feeding. Itβs lovely to see and hear them.

Thanks WN. How do you record from the radio? I am not very tech savy

I had to think about that for a few seconds! Very sharp!
'And now over to our live broadcast from the Borough Halls, Barking ...'

Glad you asked
Still have a radio and cassette player - no idea about a cassette these days, and all that tape that comes loose requiring a pencil and patience ππ€
I was going to try on BBC sounds, which is where I catch up with most things.

Well, the leek and potato soup was indeed delicious, plenty left for tomorrow too.
The mince and tatties were also very good, have not had that for a while. Also plenty of mince left for tomorrow. The neeps were some ready made ones left from Burns night in DD's office, she brought the unused ones home and we inherited and froze a pack. They were also very tasty.
More space freed up in the freezer now.

Yep some great things to take you out of yourself, radio 4 specials for me Ramblings, Open Country, Living World to name a few that allow you mental escapism. Not to mention plays etc and of course The Archers π virus free until 4 May π.

We have a Sky box and can record from that. It's funny sitting here listening to the radio on the tele with just a blue screen.
If you have Sky then just click the "R" button on any part of channel 0103, found by using the TV Guide button. This takes you to a field that you can fill in. If just wanting the earlier show use times 09.00 am to 12.01 pm. If wanting just Composer of the Week use 11.59 am to 01.00 pm. If you want both just put 09.00 am to 01.00pm. Then ask it to record Mon-Fri and press the yellow button to confirm.
We used to record on our old Humax before Sky came along but can't remember how we did it.
Hope it helps.

Must admit that we didn't see the cows, Goldie, although there were fields of sheep, but I did notice that the second field to the right of the farm, as I looked at it, had been newly rolled.

Finished opening my driveway access from 8' to 12' for easier parking of the MH. I laid a couple of large concrete slabs to make up for the gaps where the wall and garden once were.
I did this whilst looking out over Lime Bay on a glorious day of 23degC.
I now have enough room to turn the MH so it lies parallel with the front of the house for those 80mph+ storms next year which will stop any risk of a capsize.
Now I have this done, I realised that the gap between the MH and house is paved and makes a nice patio area closed on 3 sides next to the habitation door. I am going to run some fairy lights from the house across and set up a windbreak to provide a barrier against the nosy children from next door. I am trying to persuade OH to spend the weekend in the MH as we were supposed to be on tour now!

Almonds and mushrooms I do like, although perhaps not at the same time, Tda.
I'll certainly have to give the Lemon Yogurt a try, although OH forgot to get them today, and we haven't a Lidl in the town so it will have to be Aldi's. I can't stand milk on anything, but have fruit juice and tinned peaches on my cereal Kjell, but do like cheese so I will have to up the intake of that. The booklet I was given showed Edam and Gouda with the highest Calcium content, but they are so bland.
Thanks all for the tips.

Thanks TG. I don't mind leafy greens, but OH doesn't do broccoli since finding a caterpillar in a head of it, so I guess that's not an option. Sardines are fine occasionally and I might give pilchards a try too, on bread of course. We've not tried okra and I don't fancy tofu but perhaps will get some Hummus I think.

Ice cream, Nellie! π π and cheese spread triangles. You can get blue cheese flavour ones nowadays. Brilliant in a little picnic box out on a walk with some crackers, donβt weigh much. Handful of almonds for dessert......sorted!π
Leerdammer Cheese is tastier than Edam and Gouda.

No thank you. I knew as soon as I read B2's post that I get that comment......and who from!

Yep, lovely moon here too Mπ

I can certainly go along with the ice cream, we always have at least 1 box in the freezer. I'll also look out for the blue cheese triangles, but will give the plain ones a miss thank you very much. With the weight of my rucksack when we head out for the day the difference between bread and crackers would be negligible.
