Hiya folks. We leave the site here at Buxton tomorrow to our next stop, Pocklington, near York. I’m trying to decide on the best route, towing a caravan. The two most straightforward routes are either…heading north (Glossop) then east picking up the A1(M) at Barnsley, or heading through Bakewell/Chesterfield picking up the A1(M) this side of Bolsover. Any thoughts please?

Oh goodness @DEBSC, how aweful... so sorry to read this. I think it differs from one local authority to another... it hardly seems fair! I wonder if AI scans applications and looks for certain words/ phrases. I got a quick response 3 years ago, but not as quick as this time!! It's not as if it's a straightforward form to fill in either... it's taken me most of the morning. I did save a copy of what I sent last time, and added bits to it, where tbings have got worse. I really hope she gets it on appeal.... What an absolute nightmare!

We've done the Bakewell/Chesterfield route on a few occasions both coming and going. It's straightforward but keep your eye on the signs going through both towns but signage is good from memory. Haven't gone via Glossop, there's no need as its hilly.
