@richardandros wishing you many happy returns ๐๐ฅณ๐. Possibly catching one of the large carp too ๐
@DSB exciting day, safe journey. Let's hope she settles quickly and is a breeze to train ๐๐
Started beautifully here, even better OH had got the washing in I'd left out last night. I didn't get it out to late after lovely afternoon watching grandson's school do their. postponed due to weather, May Day celebrations. Country dancing and 6 different maypole dances. I think it took longer to sort the ribbons before each dance than the dance ๐ - but the teachers proved worthy in their entertainment quality whilst doing them too. The year 6 danced their pattern, quite complex going under and over ๐ซฃ and then doing it in reverse to undo it. Apparently the first time ever at a performance over the years it went to plan on the day๐๐. I loved the country dancing as well and was amazed after ALL these years the steps came back to me and the music ๐คฃ๐คฃ.
There was a very large black cloud, but the sun shone on the righteous, and we we all too warm, just seated...... No complaints mind!
I returned home and finally got the majority of our new plants acquisitions plants. Just the sunflowers to go out this morning after the dog walk And before heading off to sons village carnival.......
Enjoy your day folks.... In the time taken to type this we have clouded over with dark clouds ๐ซฃ๐ค

Happy Birthday from us @richardandros and enjoy the rest of your holiday.
@Goldie146 Glad to hear that you are at home and take it easy and hope the new shower arrangement works.
We are away in the caravan only 42 miles from home but enjoying the break, on Tuesday we had a ASCI rally all Dutch 41 caravans mainly Fendt, Hobby and a few other makes and 4 motor homes they are leaving today but a few Dutch on site not many French and 3 UK 2 caravans with the required extra number on the back and 1 motor home.
Our last day today so a meal booked at site bistro then home tomorrow and a very hot 10 days to come at least we are under a big shady tree here thankfully.
Have a good weekend folks.

Happy Birthday @richardandros have a good day. Hope you had a good nights sleep last night @DSB because you might be up with the โbabyโ tonight. Enjoy your first day with her.
Looks a better day today. Our dentist receptionist phoned yesterday, did I want a cancellation appointment with the hygienist instead of my booked one for July. They offered it because they said it would save me driving right round once the road is closed, it seems to be on everyoneโs mind, I did say that I would wait though. We are getting daily updates on road closure news from our excellent Cllr, heโs very good and gets voted in every year. The country would be in a better state if all MPs were as effective as he is.
Family party here tomorrow, itโs one of our granddaughters birthday on Monday, her mum is taking her for a spa, so we invited them all here tomorrow. Due to her anaphylaxis allergies she canโt eat out. The weather is forecast good so hopefully we can sit in the garden. No bbq though as she canโt eat from there. Very eclectic food thought about and decided on, all things that she can eat and cooked from scratch so that I know the ingredients, and that others can choose a meal from, so Iโll be busy tomorrow. The lawn needs cutting today, after all the rain, so Iโll be grateful for the new battery lawnmower, itโs so much easier for me than the electric one. At least all the rain has filled up all the water barrels again. Have a good weekend everyone.

@richardandros Happy Birthday have a nice day
@DSB good luck collecting the new dog

Lots going on, and some great photos. Takes me ages to catch up. I was hoping for a nice weekend here, warm and dry and it started off well yesterday, as I enjoyed a nice warm sunny hour sat outside at teatime. That set me twitching as I could see lots of things to do in the garden, so hoping to get stuck in today after a few other must do tasks. But, itโs drizzling at the moment, and is not that warm outsideโน๏ธ We are off next week for an anniversary trip, afternoon tea on a canal boat! Only a couple of days, but we shall enjoy it.
Been sorting lots of Mum related stuff, contract renewals for this and that, meetings with Occ Health nurses around a new hoist to be installed to help us, and something called a sleep system to help us keep her comfortable. Thereโs some amazing stuff around at the moment once you navigate through the various NHS depts, and get the relevant services on board. Heaven help those who have no one to push for help on their behalf though, itโs a bit of a lottery. Some nice looking holiday breaks happening, hope the weather stays kind. I need to get into our MH check her over, get set for a break ourselves somewhere not too far. OH fitting some sort of bit to Classic Jeep exhaust today, so heโs busy. Big Jeep having some elusive brake part fitted at garage as well later in week, so I might have to use a bus to Mumโs for a day!
@DSB puppy photos required please๐

Best wishes @richardandros. Hope you have a decent day for your birthday.
After a brief stroll and a coffee at the on site cafe we packed up in 10 minutes and had a trouble free drive home. Took just over the hour but felt miles away. We're hoping to get away again soon but early next week taken up with appointments of various sort for MiL. Van emptied and some gardening done.
The weather has been kind to us today so I hope it is where you are.

The Red Arrows were at the Trooping of the Colour today in London. To get there they flew down the East Coast so many will have seen them in Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. Once the flypass was done in London they headed north to include a pass over Bletchley Park here in MK a few minutes later they flew directly across my back garden at a fairly low level. I had been waiting for them but sadly didn't have my camera ready in time.

@DavidKlyne we watched them pass over they usually form up into formation south of Lowestoft

Bit of a miserable wet day here today so watched trooping of the colour this morning never miss it excellent fly past as usual. Not done much today just a wander round the shops now back at the van pizza for dinner we normally do them onl the Cadac but far too wet for that so in the oven. Not much planned tonight will watch the World Cup will see if we can stay up long enough to see our game but itโs a 2am kick off so not sure we will see it

It's been a mostly cloudy but warm day here. DIL popped over and we spent a pleasant couple of hours in the garden planting my new salvias, weeding and cutting back.
Glad you had a pleasant few days away @Wherenext
Hope your new puppy is settling in well @DSB

Now the "fun" starts all over again @DSB Hope all goes well with the new puppy.
Shame about the weather today @Francis If you are staying on till Monday fingers crossed that tomorrow will be better and you can get out for a while.
Glad you had a good few nights away @Wherenext Will you be able to get away to a Club site before the end of the month to claim your free night.
Happy birthday @richardandros Sounds as if you have had a couple of successful days at the fishing lakes. Hope you manage to nab one of the large Carp.
Enjoy your trip away next week @Takethedogalong and especially the canal trip. Early anniversary greetings!
Hope everything goes well with your family party tomorrow @DEBSC and that the day stays fair.
It looks as if you have been lucky with the weather this weekend @Bakers2 and had a very pleasant time at the postponed May Day celebrations. Hope it was fine for the village carnival.

We have had lots of cloud and strong winds, but also periods of sunshine and it has stayed dry. Our walk this morning was around the Kinneil Estate and this afternoon I had one around Linlithgow Loch and up past the Palace.
Another view across the Loch

Meanwhile, over in the [alleged] sunny Kingdom of Fife, the roofer arrived at 0730 to try catching up with the re-roofing of the house, whilst his carpenter colleague was pirouetting in the wind with the new UPVC cladding for the dormers. How they, and the materials, stayed on the scaffolding operating power saws without accidents is a testament to their skill and resilience. Work resumes tomorrow about 0930 [or when the carpenter arrives after the Scotland v. Haiti match โฆ] but will run well into next week because more materials will need to be obtained.

Thanks @Wherenext - didn't do very much at all, yesterday. I had planned to go fishing again but I wasn't feeling too good and the weather was rubbish. I don't know what the BBC are messing about with their forecasts - but after saying it was going to be warm and sunny all weekend for the last week or so - that all changed on Friday night and it turned out to be cold, overcast and very windy! We watched the Trooping of the Colour instead - and, as usual, the performance was absolutely stunning. I think the Red Arrows must have passed over us just before 1330 - on their way back to Waddington - because we could hear a number of fast jets in the sky. Couldn't see anything though - far too cloudy.
@marchie - your builders have certainly cracked on and it's looking good and as if it will soon be finished, hopefully.
Great photos, once again @nelliethehooker - you certainly get about a bit๐!

Wasnโt a bad day here yesterday, but very windy. I spent most of the day in the garden, dealing with a climbing hydrangea and a Montana Clematis both hell bent on world domination! Not any more, they are now tamed and looking rather sorry for themselves, much to the relief of an adjacent apple tree๐คญ The apple tree itself will be dealt with later this year. Had just sat down with OH on our garden swing for a breather and we had a lone Spitfire fly right across the house, always a wonderful sight. He has tamed the exhaust on the Jeep as well, so thatโs two successful tasks completed. We treat ourselves to fish and chips and watched the renamed Dauphine, really good stage yesterday. Need to catch up on Scotland result.
Mum day for me today.

My club magazine arrived yesterday and it reminded me that I haven't looked in for a while, apparently since May ๐ฑ oops, hadn't realised it was that long, you can find me on the naughty step.๐คฃ
Have only skimmed through posts but some great photos. A belated Happy Birthday @richardandros have a lovely break away.
Also great to read you are now at home @Goldie146 sending you my best wishes for a speedy recovery, I can remember giving the boys a good wash standing in a tray while a poured water over them our first van didn't have a shower.
I've been kept busy at work, grandchildren child care etc but we have managed a couple of trips away too, a trip to one of our favourite CL's and also tried our second camping and caravan club site, Conkers which was very good. Their special offer of a grass pitch for ยฃ12.50 is too good to miss!!
Weather has been better this weekend after last week's rain so been catching up with lawn mowing and washing today, as we took ourselves off for a walk along the canal from Thrupp towards Oxford yesterday there are a couple of nice pubs too.

@DSB just seen the photo of your gorgeous new puppy hope she settles in well.

We got home just after 12 from a nice weekend at Ayr Craigie Gardens club site itโs one of our regular haunts but itโs only just opened after a refurb so was good to get back. They have done a good job the site roads have been re surfaced and they have added some new serviced pitches. Toilet block has been completely knocked down and re build they have done a good job but only 3 showers in the gents which I donโt think will be enough especially when the site is busy. Another thing is the block is not brick built itโs a sort of pre fab structure itโs nice but I wonder if the lease maybe wasnโt extended for as long as the club was expecting and so they have build a less permanent structure anyway no matter itโs great to see the place refreshed as it was looking tired. Easy half hour tow home this morning and van back in itโs space on drive. Might get away next weekend will see what the weather is like will decided later on in the week. We stayed up last night and watched the scotland game great result I canโt believe itโs been 28 years since we were last at the World Cup I can stil remember France 98 like it was yesterday. SWMBO decorated the front of the van for the occasion this weekend shame about the weather but no matter

Thanks for the comment folks... It's been a fairly hectic few days..... trip up to Doncaster to collect Maisie the dog, yesterday morning. Prep and Concert yesterday afternoon/ evening. A practice with our instrumentalist and a run through the choir anthem from 9am.... before the service.
Maisie had a great first night. We've bought her a 'soft crate', which she's really taken to.
She's started to go in there automatically when she needs to sleep, and it's light enough to carry upstairs.... As far as we know she only woke once during the night.... She snuggles up to the brown dog cuddly toy... just taken a photo from the open top...

A slight departure for me as far as Jigsaw Puzzles go but I have just completed a circular jigsaw of the London Undergroud. It's by Gibson and only 500 pieces. Obviously no square edges so requires a slightly different approach. It was slow going at first but once the main structure was in place it speeded up a bit.
@Francis I thought there was a concern that the University wantedthe land that site was on back so good that it has been secured for the future.

Not quite sure what happened, there seemed a slight delay in my post above so pressed enter again.

Good looking jigsaw @DavidKlyne. I like it when the pieces are higgedly-piggedly and cut differently. You've just reminded me that I have one I completed in March but put away and forgotten about. I tend to pass them onto a friend in the village who does them in Winter as he spends his time in Summer gardening.
Talking of which, both of us have been doing some trimming and weeding as its brown bin day tomorrow. Also had 2 maturing products that needed reinvesting. As we only got back yesterday I had a quick run to Tesco this morning but the good weather kept the number of shoppers down so it wasn't as bad as I was fearing. Will clean the van tomorrow.
Always up for seeing the Peak District @HelenandTrevor. One of our favourites places anywhere.

Must be doing well as they still have at least 3 active pubs.ย
If @vbfg is looking in then you may be interested to note that the Lord Combermere pub in the centre of Audlem is closing down at the end of this month. A staff member mentioned it yesterday. Obviously I spoke too soon.

Fabulous Day at the carnival.yesterday. The parade caught use slightly on the hop ๐ณ. So grabbed phone camera and assumed the position. Couldn't see DIL and youngest grandson in the nursery contingent. Just as well as I was still trying to get everything together ๐ซฃ. Filming underway, woodcraft folk appeared, camera running! Couldn't see eldest grandson but did see son pulling the theme decorated truck with all the children's things. Embarrassed him by calling and waving, which he returned ๐.
Fabulous float by RBL of battleship Poppy on a mobility scooter. An idea for you @richardandros ?
Never did see DIL and younger grandson in the parade.but she didn't see us, but did see our parked car ๐คฃ. Turned out they slipped back and back and were just in front of the fire engine bringing up the close of the parade.....
Watched the video back a realised I recognised a walk, eldest grandson, wearing a hat, waving and helping to carry the dolphin. Sea theme this year.
A great afternoon amid the stalls and rides. Perfect day weatherwise, warm, cloudy and a breeze. Sorry to read others not so lucky.
Good to read others new and see photos, keep them coming. Loving the jigsaw @DavidKlyne very well done. @DSB loving Maisie.
Rather cloudy here but very comfortable and after yesterday's exertions decided against Open Elton, sounded brilliant but needed much walking again and my feet already sore from yesterday. Hopefully next year ๐ค. Also started the day with a long video call with NZ friend, 2.5 hours, she's coming to stay for 3 nights in August as part of her European visit. Already excited.

I have spent the afternoon applying to renew OH's blue badge. You have to go through the whole long process again ๐ก. I had to scan lots of documents and then couldn't find where the laptop had 'hidden' them. It is totally different to my old PC. It was all very frustrating. I got there in the end (I think) So I will now wait to see if I have been successful. It will probably be at least a month but the present one is valid until September. It is so very useful with OH's limited mobility. It was a bit of a waste of the nice weather this afternoon but needs must.
Your afternoon yesterday sounds wonderful @Bakers2
Good to hear from you @HelenandTrevor

Wow just sitting in the lounge and something caught my eye.
I did manage to video it. It landed behind the tree on the extreme right. Either the road or someone's garden ๐ซฃ. It was moving fairly fast.....
@milliehull i hope your efforts aren't in vain. It was lovely outdoors but cloudy and cool.
Edit ps it landed safely in a set aside field, so no crop damage ๐. That is walked through this morning. There is a footpath through the field....

Arrived at Hollins Farm CL in Middlewich earlier today for an overnight stop, the start of our 3 week tour, site full. Fairly light traffic although a bit slow around M5/M6 intersection, usual thing. Onward to Buxton club site tomorrow for 3 nights.

Hope are feeling better today @richardandros and fit enough to chase that elusive Carp.
@marchie yesterday we could see the rather poor weather coming your way from the other side of the Firth. Hope it was better today and your guys have made good progress on your roof, the Dormer is looking good!
Pleased to hear from you again @HelenandTrevor and that you have had a couple of trips away recently. We too will be taking advantage of the C&CC's offer.
@Francis the club have been threatening to close the Ayr site for many a year, so it is good that they have at last managed to extend the lease and upgrade much of the site. The forecast is for a decent week so perhaps you will be able to get away next weekend.
Maisie looks a bonny wee pup @DSB and seems to have settled down and doing at night already. Will you be using the "soft crate" when travelling in the car?
Glad that all was fine and that the carnival went well @Bakers2 and that you had a great afternoon.
After all your efforts fingers crossed that the renewal goes through ok @milliehull
We had another fine dry day. I had to replace a gas bottle this morning, so drove back up to Beecraigs Visitors Centre where I got a replacement for ยฃ32, which is a great improvement on the ยฃ50+ quoted at an Esso garage at Bo'ness!! Afterwards we had a walk along the Union Canal before lunch then a bit of shopping months way back to the van. Had another walk before our evening meal, taking in the Loch again but in the opposite direction.
A different view of the Palace

I have had a day off today as there was an all day demo at woodturning club, tea/coffee provided, bring your own sandwiches. Only down side was that the chairs at the venue are not that comfortable!
DD and the boys came up to our house after swimming lessons to stash all the stuff I had weighed and taken out to the caravan, we are going to run out of payload allowance long before we run out of space! So far, to save weight, we have removed the van table , some cushions, and the hook up cable, but have added other cushions. The melamine plates are back in use, though we have kept the china mugs. Next to go will be the 2 front carpets. No TV, clothes, towels, toiletries or food added as yet, but DD has made up the beds for us. Our first trip is only 7 nights, so we will not need many clothes, but next time we will be away for 3 weeks.
The storage space is excellent, far more than we need, just a pity the payload is so limited.

@DavidKlyne they have got an extension but not sure how long for nice site though we visit about 8-9 times a year
