That’s good news👍 The tomb is in the Quire, right hand side close to the altar. It’s visible from outside the Quire as well, no effigy though.

Thank you all for your kind wishes to Ros which I have passed onto her. Great news @nelliethehooker - I bet that's a big relief for you both - just stay covered up! We don't seem to be having much luck at the moment - just been looking at my calendar - here we are in June and we've only managed to get away once - at Easter -since last October.

Thats great news @nelliethehooker I had a squamous cell cancer removed some years ago and luckily have had no trouble since.🤞 I keep out of the sun now and use factor 50. I am off for an ultrasound scan on my troublesome shoulder this afternoon.

I wonder what the weather will bring today? Our grandson said they had a huge hail storm with thunder and lightening on Tuesday evening but we just had rain - they only live about 4 miles away.

@DSB ahh it’s so sweet! Is it male or female and what are you calling it? I’d love a cavalier KC but a little late in the day for us now. I’m pretty sure I remember when you first got your Lizzie as a puppy, how time flies.

What a good memory, @DEBSC. It's now been over 12 months since we lost Lizzie, so we felt this was a good time to go for it. It's looking like the new female dog will be called Maisie!! She's a Cavapoo... Her mother is a Cav and dad is a toy poodle. We've met both parents. Hope to pick her up on 13th June.... 🙂

GGood News @nelliethehooker , just keep.applying the cream all over 😉

@DSB There's a beauty. You'll find life very different while she/he gets settle, is trained etc but a super addition. I hope the recruitment is successful. Do you have to visit multiple schools?

We're away at the moment, in Norfolk. Just taking my foot of the gas - I'm slowing down now 😉. Very mixed weather, but thankfully not those high temperatures.

Tuesday evening we drove to Snettisham beach for a look see. Not happened.... 3 wild campers outside the carpark. Didn't pay carpark ourselves, as sky took a nasty turn so pleased we waited for 5 minutes. We had a terrific storm, so headed back to the village. Had to sit in the car for 15 minutes waiting for it to subside enough to run to our door! Then had to go through huge flood where the drains couldn't cope! Our sandals were still soaked Wednesday morning..…

Last evening a good walk along the top at Hunstanton. First time offlead for Dora since we arrived. A bit breezy and sideways waves. Still these folk appeared to be having a great time

    20260603_193638.jpg

Today's forecast showers and temperatures much cooler. Another lazy day calling? The coffee shop in the village closed for their annual holiday - bad timing, but they had 2 other branches open and kindly posted their postcodes on their closure sign. Better try them out!

What a gorgeous puppy @DSB - with those colours, she could become Hull City's mascot😊!! And you're getting her on my birthday! I'll be raising a glass to you all at some time during the day😃. I'm sure she be very much loved - and, no doubt, spoilt!!

Had the shopping experience this morning all to myself. Whoopee. Lucky me. The ladies, meanwhile, were enjoying themselves at a coffee/tea and cake morning in the local village hall, mainly for fund raising. Very well supported by the sounds of it. Plenty of villagers there that you sometimes only bump into at funerals or in Tesco so they enjoyed a "proper natter" as MiL put it. They're back there on Saturday for a Craft fair.

I'm currently waiting for the EE bot to deign to reply to me regarding our temperamental Hub.

Hope the weather improves for you @Bakers2.

Hope the scan goes the way you want it @milliehull

    Weather still changeable here.

@DSB she looks full on CKCS to me, must take after her Mum. But maybe she won’t moult as much. Our friends have got a cavachon, a cross between a bichon frise and a cavalier but she looks full on bichon frise, the only cav part is two faint sandy coloured spots on her back that are hardly noticeable. Bet you are looking forward to getting her.

@DEBSC - we have a couple of Bichon Frises locally. You don't mess with them as one of them is called Ronnie and the other is Reggie (both after the Kray twins.)😂

@DEBSC our son and family have a Cavachon too, Barney. We are his ‘sitters’ and he’s often here when they go away. @DSB she looks a really cute little puppy, I’m sure she will keep you busy; when we have Barney we always enjoy the peace and quiet when he goes home!😂

Thank you all for your good wishes, and yes I will keep my head covered up &9 applying the factor 50.

We love the photo of your new puppy @DSB and OH thinks that she looks as if she will be a tricky one!!😊 Hope she lives up to her looks, and gives you both great joy.

Enjoy your stay in Norfolk @Bakers2, I thought at first that it was you out on the water!! Hope the weather improves for the rest of your stay.

Ta for the info about the tomb @Takethedogalong we must get back there sometime and have another good look around.

Hope you are soon able to get away @richardandros before your trip to Skybarn.

@milliehull fingers crossed that the scan will reveal the cause of your shoulder problem. Our daughter is suffering from similar and is now going through physiotherapy and has just had a cortisone & steroid injection to see if that will ease her pain.

We have had very mixed weather today with periods of sunshine between heavy showers on a strong wind, and now have a rather stormy red sky.

    20260604_214809_copy_1200x1600.jpg

As were drove here yesterday I spotted an Ikea in Dundee, close to the A90, so decided to head there this morning. What a disappointment, it is really just a small unit, like a Tesco Express, or even smaller!! We did call in at the Tesco Extra, next door, and then manage a decent walk through Templeton Woods before doing the rest of our shopping.

The roofer has still not started in the [alleged] 'sunny Kingdom of Fife' where the weather changed yesterday from bright sunshine 1 minute to torrential downpour within 300m of our starting our walk to the edge of the Country Park in Kirkcaldy! Good job that the roofer hadn't made a start - when us drowned rats returned 15 minutes later, his advertising heavy duty tarpaulin banner was wrapped around the scaffolding like a ship's furled sail … And I remembered the roofer's text - 'start late May/early June will take us into the better weather and help us to finish the job quicker' - 'aye, that'll be right', as Glaswegians are wont to reply to such optimism that stretches credulity to the limits of elasticity … 😁

There's always next week … or the one after that, etc etc!

Thanks for the encouragement folks. No doubt I'll post more photos of the new dog as we go! Picking her up a week tomorrow.

All emails seem O K for me.

Soon off to Oxon Hall Touring, for a few days. Haven't been there for years, but were looking for somewhere where I could get to a meeting one evening next week, without having to travel too far. 🙂

Had a few hours escape today. Drove to an area just outside Prestatyn where we were able to walk into the sand dune system in order to see the Little Terns which nest on the beach. The only nesting place in North Wales. Breezy day but the walk was great as there was loads of singing Skylarks. We watched one, not more then 10 feet away, having a dust bath. Quite oblivious to us.

Only out for 3 hours but felt longer. A couple of poor photos of Orchids, Marsh and Pyramid. The wind wouldn't abate ( that's my excuse 🤒).

Great photos @nelliethehooker. I love the look of the chapel.

A better day weatherwise yesterday so we took a quick visit to our local garden centre in the morning to get a few plants for my pots and also have a coffee and then I spent a pleasant afternoon in the garden planting and tidying up. Everything seems to have grown like mad with the rain, especially the weeds! Raining again this morning.

Anyone fed up with the World Cup yet?🤣

The ladies have left me in charge again (big mistake) as they have gone to the Craft fair at the village hall and taken our neighbour with them to help her get out and about again.

Horrible jobs this morning. Renewing Motorhome insurance, renewing National Trust membership. A heavy month especially after the roof repairs.

The weather is currently having a break between downpours. Nice of it.

    Have an enjoyable weekend folks.

@nelliethehooker great photos, love your photos of gardens. Heavy rain all night, grey and chilly out. We’ve been here a week and I haven’t even managed a coffee sitting out on the decking. No neighbours here, not really surprising with the weather. OH says this is just the weather for him. He’s ordered his mobility scooter, he’s been on the internet for hours over the week and finally ordered one. He says it will fit in my car and as light as the one we looked at, we’ll see. I’ve been asking him to get a smart straw hat for years but he’s always refused, suddenly he’s ordered one, on me questioning that he said he’s going to wear that and sunglasses on the scooter so no one will recognise him! I had to use a walking stick for a few weeks after my op, it really didn’t bother me if it made my life easier, but I suppose we are all different. We went for a nice lunch at the Dirty Duck in Stratford yesterday, we had to wait for them to open up, now that looks bad.

A sad day today. Our daughter has to have their beloved dog put down. Appointment booked, which is even worse. She’s only nine. She was bought as a Springer, Cocker cross but it soon became evident there is a lot of beagle in her. The sweetest, kindest soul. She let the kitten eat from her bowl while she was eating and then the same some years ago with the new puppy. Sadly, exactly the same as our old springer, she started having seizures many years ago, the tablets have now affected her liver and the seizures are now multiple and daily. She is now suffering and this is the kindest thing to do, but obviously our daughter and granddaughters are devastated. Plus us and our son and our other grandchildren. She has been loved by us all. Her little family are all going to the vets to be with her as thats what you have to do.

@DEBSC - well done to your OH for taking the plunge - he won't regret it. I do understand how he feels. I won't use mine around here and only use it when we're away where no one knows me. Unlike our next-door neighbour who relishes in telling everyone how bad he is (mobility wise) - has three our four scooters and uses them around here just to show off. In the next breath, however, there he is, underneath one of his classic cars doing all sorts of things I couldn't possible manage!! What you never do is ask him how he is - you'd still be there half an hour later🙄.

So sorry to hear about your daughter's dog - it must be terrible for them - especially, as you say, having to wait for the 'appointment'. I'm sure you have, but just tell them to concentrate on all the happy times they have shared together.

@DEBSC awful for you all, but kinder for the pooch. 😢

Cannot get enthusiastic about WC at the moment, just hope nothing awful happens out there. Having said that, we will resurrect our “World Cup Dining” bit of fun we usually have, hoping to try a dish related to England’s opponents. I think we will be fine with Croatia, but Ghana and Panama need a bit of thought🤔 Dauphine (bike race) starts tomorrow, we will be glued. It’s got some long winded new name now, but everyone just calls it “Dauphine”

Hope you got the pensioner rate for NT @Wherenext 👍
