I've just seen the smileys I added to my earlier post haven't shown as a face with tears. I'm so embarrassed as they look incredibly insensitive. I hope folks know my posts well enough to know that they weren't intended to cause distress. No excuses I did read it back and they looked OK then. Did read someone posting that smileys playing up on here.

Hi folks, haven't looked in for a while, it has been a very different and challenging few weeks since we came back from a few days away in the van. It's been nice to catch up with a few posts on here.
Sad day Millie, hope the family took some comfort from you all being outside.
I am still at work, but as I have an office to myself social distancing isn't a problem. It's only a short walk away so no unnecessary travel either and my daily exercise.
It was a trip to Aldi this morning, no queues outside and I was able to get everything I wanted, and I had a big list as not been shopping for a while. Shouldn't have to venture out again now until after Easter.
It has been interesting finding things to do especially online while we are on lockdown. A friend has been sending me ideas and links too. We had a fun evening on Saturday doing a quiz via WhatsApp with the boys and their partners.
In other news our hedgehogs are back and all the food is disappearing each evening, have only caught sight of them a couple of times.
Off to read a few more posts, stay safe everyone.

Yes the hearse with the coffin came. The undertaker (a woman) walked in front of the hearse for the length of our road. I just hope she didnt have to walk all the way to the Crem as it is miles away.
So sorry to hear that you lost your Mum at such a young age WN and also how badly it affected your sister. So sad for you. A few friends of mine lost parents in the Asian flu epidemic in the 1950s and their life was never the same again.

Good to hear from you HelenandTrevor I've been wondering about you both. Glad you're ok!
I've come back onto my tablet and see that the smileys are the sad ones with tears. Yet on my phone they are the puzzled sort, finger to the mouth. Most odd - both are Samsung so who knows? It hurts my brain to try to understand tech at times π winking smiley lol
I'm glad they bought your neighbour home to begin her final journey milliehull. I didnt thinkmthey were doing that at the moment, I know you said she didnt pass because of the virus.
'Our' undertaker always walks in front of the hearse as it leaves the house and again before arrival st the crem or church. My mum was buried, with my dad, in the village where she was born and they worshipped. We asked the undertaker if we could pause outside the house she was born in in the way to the church. No problem she said, her brother accompanied us rather than her or her dad, not only did we pause outside my late nan's house but out got our undertaker and he walked her all the way to the church, in fact the vicar - a lively man came down to meet the hearse and walked with the undertaker. Incredibly moving.
Out of interest were there flowers? The florist in our locality has suggested, and offered to make, corsages for mourners as flowers aren't allowed. I thought that a lovely idea and told her so, on social media you understand, but I hope not to need to avail myself of this service!

I can only reiterate brue's post, Millie. Such a shame for her family and friends.
I've just heard that my 92 year old cousin has been taken into emergency respite care. She is nearly blind and has poor hearing too. The lockdown has meant that she's not been able to meet family or friends for the last few days and this has no doubt added to her feeling of isolation and depression. Her son, who lives near has his own health problems, and her daughter lives in America and of course is unable to fly over. Waiting to hear how things progress.

Thoughts are with you Nellie (and others) Itβs a very very difficult time.π
We are grieving for Mums best friend, but we still havenβt told her yet. Mum is in a good place at the moment, doing well, so we donβt want to put extra stress on her. Thereβs nothing she can do, no help she can give. We shall let her know when she is strong and we are coming out of this situation, then we can pay our respects one way or another.

Thanks, WN, Tda & brue. I feel really sorry for her son who has a lot to cope with. Chatting tonight on FB it seems that she is having hallucinations and wonders why they are "a prisoner". So sad particularly for someone that was so bright and chatty. Here's hoping that things will improve somewhat.

OMGπ€© So have I for 27th! Wide awake now with food passing by me on a conveyor belt and that little ping noise that the self checker gadgets make at Tesco!
I have ordered some flour and dried yeast, but thatβs as likely as a flying pig squadron looping the loop over the house......π
Wherenext......wake up.......its our day! π

I am pleased because I can order stuff for Mum that Aldi donβt stock. I have no intention of visiting a big supermarket if I help it. It will be five weeks from our last Tesco online, and I have chosen a late night delivery, so trying to be mindful of those who really need home deliveries.
Isnt it surreal that something like a supermarket delivery can be a hot topic on here!π
brue, we only got one leek in our box, but a whopper! π

Panic over, the local Coop has reintroduced some of the Special Offers including Milk and veggies. We lasted 8 days between shops [though I did look at the mouse we caught yesterday and began thinking about a wee casserole ...] but realised as we walked through the store just how much we needed. Staggered back up the road with over 10kg in 2 shopping bags.
1 cashier on the till so that as we stepped forward, arm extended for contactless payment, she stepped away and half turned her back, then we reciprocated as she came forward with the Till Receipt ... No Coop Radio playing, but a baroque orchestra would have kept the protocol in timed sequence. I shall wear my tiara and best ballgown for the next trip, make the most of our foray into the wider world
Only 1 week to go for our Online Shopping delivery. It's like waiting for Xmas to see if we get all the presents from Santa that we asked for ... Sad puppies that we are

The strange thing is that since all this started I have seen far fewer food deliveries in our little estate. The guy next door to us would regularly have a Tesco and Iceland delivery at least once a week but I have not seen any for a couple of weeks. I have seen a couple of ASDA vans. Whether this is because people can't get slots I don't know. Don't see that many people out and about so wonder how some of them are getting their supplies?
