Couldn't agree more about the online shopping difficulties.  At least in person it's only the bulk/weight that cause grief!

    Fingers crossed for you.

I actually should have checked our frozen meat, too cold, too idle and it's outside. I actually now lock the shed and remove the key as scared someone will raid the freezer 😲.  They have to find the rest and even himself can't! We now have more than ample sufficiency 😂. We have plenty of bread and a decent amount of frozen milk. Concentration now on store cupboard things, although thats not too bad - better if i don't use any 😉 and fresh stuff. Shhhh don't tell anyone but I have an unopened packet of toilet rolls and additional kitchen roll.

Bled all our radiators this morning as we have developed a low vibration noise in the dining room and bedroom above it, I reckon in the ceiling. Didn't cure it 😤. Can't see new motorised value - before Christmas, or the pump both in the airing cupboard above dining room, touching anything so have to live with it. Brother, who knows about these things, says pipes against joists. I'm not having floorboards up. Actually I think it must be the pump as it does go off. Especially if you walk in the bedroom and go to open the airing cupboard door. Then it don't start again until you go to leave the room 😂😂. Good job no one using the bedroom at present. Since didn't mention it when he last stayed between Christmas and new year. Hey ho least of our real problems.

Is there a particular place that when you stand there the noise stops?

If so, maybe a box of heavy books or other stuff placed there might work?

Is the pump maybe not set to the correct speed?

Oh KjellNN thank you so much for your concern. No no place where it ceases, I tried that a few days back. It's tantalizing if you like that sort of thing!

Spoke with my brother who had me listening to the pump with flat screwdriver, not idea what I should be hearing 😂😂, as he didn't think it would be the motorised valve. Intereting convrrsation 😉.New one of those was fitted in August my how time flies!

Currently sat on the bedroom floor with the airing cupboard door open, as you do 😂. Difficult to hear it starting but I am aware. The motorised valve and pipes that go in and out? from it vibrate like mad and the said valve isn't still, not much of vibration, when not working. I have phoned our heating engineers and left a message, I assume they be monitoring the system for real emergencies? Just to alert them. We can live with it.

I agree you can hear lots with the said screwdriver on the pump, but since I don't know what it usually sounds like it's no help 😂😂

The speed of the pump, controlled by turning thing that needs screwdriver to turn? hasn't been touched since our service and the work done then. But you could be right. Thanks again for caring and your assistance.

    Good Afternoon Everybody  smile.

    Well the systems work  !!

Diabetes Specialist Nurse rang at 09:41 for my 09:40 appointment, and I could almost feel the warmth of her smile 'cos my Blood sugar levels ( long term ) had dropped quite sharply and are now out of the RED and into the PINK, kidney function etc etc all rated as GOOD. so I'm going to celebrate with a second sweetener in my lunch-time coffee  innocent

At that point the clouds came over and the sky darkened.

It was my turn to visit elder Sister, just to chat across the drive & deliver Two weekends worth of Saturday Magazines, BUT the blooming van was as dead as a dodo --  lights on dash then no lights on dash --  just like that { thank you Tommy Cooper } Tried to charge it but after two hours and my lunch no improvement.  So I rang Mayday  --  Receptionist working from home on a less than perfect Tinternet connection but exceedingly Efficient.

Mechanic turned up after 45 mins with his power-box, tinker  tinker and  ZOO ZOO ZOOM ! Away the van ran. Everybody happy even yours truly  laughing.

Thanked profusely the mechanic, sadly I'd got no Easter Eggs to pass across the great divide, so while he packed away his kit, I whipped on my fleece, grabbed the bag of mags and off we both went Him to his next job me to Sisters then a couple of slow, low gear laps of South Cheshire ( about 20 miles ) to drag the State of Charge Back up closer to safety.

Now I'll just have to source a spare 12 volt battery with 'ooommpphh'   since I reckon there will be a  few more longish 'rest periods'

You're beginning to make Hercules sound like he had an easy time of it Bakers. Good luck with whatever it is.

A few small jobs that needed doing outside but as the refuse isn't being collected some of the excess on shrubs can stay there.

MiL's birthday today so I'm tasked with preparing a hearty meal for tonight. Not sure everyone wants a "hearty" meal as we're not burning enough calories off but they'll get a filling one. Good job we bought her card when we could quite a few weeks ago and her present was also bought then.

    Stay safe everyone.

I suspect there will be a few motors with flat batteries AB! I drove the long way to Mum’s yesterday doing the fresh food, meds, self isolator delivery triangle. A little Italian tune up of car where I could, it’s now on a trickle charger until it leaves the stable again, maybe a couple of weeks away.

From what you have said, it sounds like the new valve is the culprit.  We do not have one of those in our system, so no experience of how they should be, but the pipes to and from it, and the valve itself vibrating does not sound right to me!

If it all sits near a wall, or other solid object, could you try wedging a block of wood, or even an old cushion in the space somehow, see if that helps?

I would also try changing the pump speed, either down or up, to change the "exciting frequency" as it may be close to the natural frequency of the pipes.  Changing the MV May have slightly altered the position of the pipes, which has then altered the natural frequency of the pipes.

Our battery was barely above 12 volts this morning.  OH was getting worried about lack of use so he checked it 🤔.  I know, not enough to do!!!!!  Anyway apparently they shouldn’t go below 12 volts so he was panicking.  Having checked our handbook you can’t charge our battery whilst in situ and it must be removed from the car.  To do this requires removal of the air intake and resetting about 5 or 6 systems when you replace the battery 😱😱!  He took his life in his hands and decided to go for a drive to nowhere to charge it.  Now 12.6V, so hopefully OK for another week or more.

You need to get a trickle charger heddlo. Otherwise known as a Smart charger. C-Tek are the best known. They work without having to remove the battery. Deliver low amperage, turn off when full. This might be helpful   https://carused.jp/blog/car-maintenance/complete-guide-trickle-charging-use-trickle-charger/

Just check daily, use as instructed. Don’t leave plugged in if you are out for a long time.

B2, YouTube might be your friend if you can't find a solution to the noise/vibration in the plumbing. Here's one example...

Happy birthday to Wherenext MIL. It can be marked down as a 'different' one.

I have just been upstairs and wedged a towel under the motorised value and the shelf, a good 3" distance. I'm waiting with baited breath at the mo!

Just had a text from a friend, she's a recent widow 😢, she turned tap on in the bathroom yesterday about 1630 - big pop. Water gushing out the cupboard by the gallon, ran downstairs it's coming through the ceiling and kitchen cupboards. Couldn't shift washing machine to get to stopcock. (First lesson to learn have the stopcock easily accessible - ours was behind the fridge before kitchen refit 😯). Ran for a neighbour had forgotten about the lockdown! Neighbour got washing machine out, turning stopcock pipe split now mains water gushing everywhere! No plumbers would come out, insurance guy came out about 2030 couldn't turn off in the street, waterboard turned up about 2330 turned it off. 2 plumbers via the insurance company been today left recently. Shes had no heat and no water all that time. I'm cross because I could have lent her a fan heater - she's too damn independent!!

So my problem is small by comparison. Shes really good to others and doesn't deserve this luck.......

Whilst typing this I thought I'd solved my issue, but I can hear it again now 😤😤😤😤. Not quite as bad. I'll keep you posted.

Edit thanks again KjNelln I was slightly ahead of you. Wow I'm impressed 😂

Brue never thought of YouTube thanks. I'm off to pad around it some more, then I'll investigate further.

So kind of you both to take an interest. Theres me on my afternoon off trying to read quietly 😂😢😂😢

Gosh Bakers, you and your friend are having a rotten time of it.

Been a nice day today wind dropped a bit so doesn't feel quite so chilly.

OH washed one of the cars this morning, then gave it a good hoover out, didn't get so many distractions with less folk about laughing

I decided to give the kitchen a good clean, so took down the blind, cleared off the window ledge and gave the windows a really good clean frames and all. Then decided to paint one wall as it needed a refresh, its the one that takes all the daily wear and tear. Not a full wall as its tiled halfway up. Looking nice and clean and fresh now. Then all the cupboards and worktops got a good clean down, the tiles and grouting got a good scrubbing with bleach so all fresh there as well.

Spot of lunch then we got the bikes out and went for a ride, only got to the end of our houses and notice both bike tyres needed more air. Back to the house to get them pumped up. Once done off we went, legs like lead frown but carried on thankful that the bike is electric. Only did about 4 miles but it was good to get on them again.

I seem to be going round the house cleaning and tidying but making another mess at the same time, does anybody else do that laughing

Was thinking of going shopping tomorrow but BIL asked if we could leave it for another day as his Train magazine comes out on Thursday and he can't go and get it. Hope the milk stretches that far laughing

Oh no!  What a catalogue of disasters for your friend B2, I think water must be the worst thing for damage.  I do hope she gets good help from her insurers.

Not done a lot today, still making small adjustments on the secret birthday present, but did get our big freezer moved from its "temporary" position, only been 2 years since we made the plan to move it!

When we did some alterations in the kitchen we made a space for the freezer, but it is so big, about 1.8m tall, that we had been putting off tackling the move.  However, having defrosted it recently, OH wanted it moved into place before the Waitrose order arrived.

I had made 2 "appliance trolleys" (thick plywood with castors under) for DD, for moving her washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer when we were working on her utility room, so we brought one home to use a few weeks back,  and it all went very well, thankfully.

One more item to tick off my list.

Also spent a good while in the loft finding toys for Callum, they will all need a good clean.  DD will be bringing us some milk and a few other items later this week, so we will place the items in the porch for her to remove.  Now she has a big house, she can get all this stuff we have been storing here for years!

We have had our bikes out as well today. OH whizzing along as he usually does, me apprehensively wondering what hills he’ll find to climb!

We only did the park, round and round all the lovely paths, it was good to get out though. I managed nearly five miles, including inclines, so had a nice little work out. More dahlias potted up, tadpoles checked. OH has just done a virtual tour across Dartmoor up in attic.........

I haven’t got bored enough yet to start any major cleaning......😂

Just in from our walk along the river.  Been another lovely day here, if it carries on we might find ourselves in drought conditions🌞. Went into Morrison’s on the way home, store virtually empty of people and good selection of toilet rolls, eggs, bread, milk etc.. still no flour and pasta. I find it ridiculous that we had, until a couple of years ago, one of the dry pasta manufacturers in Europe, used to export tons of the stuff to Italy.  Bet the board are cursing themselves for changing it to snacks.

Checkout lady told us that from next week contactless limit will be raised to £45.00🤑

It’s from tomorrow, One, but I believe each financial institution has to get processes in place so it might not happen for everyone tomorrow.

I had a text informing me mine is £45 from tomorrow. That’s fewer keypads to touch.👍🏻

    Oh what a night! embarassed

I had to get up about 2am and just looked at the Tesco online status. I found a slot 😱😱😱 50p charge but too scared to look for another as many already gone and frightened to lose it. Random shop literally to be within the time frame. Put stuff in with gay abandon to discover 80 item limit. Random ditching of items until below 😂😂Downstairs to find bank card and vouchers, yes I was quite alert! Plenty of time to sort contents properly as delivery 21st 😯.

All done by 0330. Never been so glad of a call of nature in the night.

Takethedogalong very strange and random about your post box. Have you reported it to Post Office or the police - aren't they crown property?

In celebration of a shopping slot I'm giving myself the day off and will do only things I fancy doing. Very heavy frost ❄ here still only 2c  but nice and sunny for now. Water feature still has ice on it brrr.

    Stay safe folks

Very frosty on our walk this morning, Rosa met several of her "play mates" one of the owners is an ex A&E nurse, who when our local main hospital was closed,  started work at another company, and has been "working from home" even though there has been no work for her,so she enquired to help with the NHS ,for the "period",and was advised she would be accepted, when she spoke to her "line manager?" she had an Email saying if she did do work for the NHS they would not hold her job for her to return to,

So much for we are all in it together

Tesco release there slots at midnight. I logged on at 2 mins past on Monday night to get one on the 20th. Booked a slot fairly easily and it said I had till 2am to check out. However, when I clicked on shop now it put me in a queue, with no indication of how long. Fortunately it was only a 40 minute wait, then I quickly put enough in to secure it and will sort it out closer to delivery.

Visited the store this morning for OAP hour. 😷 Shopping now all sanitised and packed away. Generally it was OK, tape at 2 metre intervals on floor, people keeping separation, organised queue for checkout, limited number let in. Only blip was at the trolley antibaxing station, couple behind didn't see the need to wait at the line 😡 until we had done ours. They then took exception when OH told them to get back. Still no kitchen roll, antibax, hand soap, flour of any description. Although there were a few loo rolls.😂
