My learned friend i do believe you are correct. I refer you to my previous post quote below.

I badly worded my response! I was referring to myself as slow on the uptake or thick. Personally I reckon both as proved by the start of the reply 😂😂😂

    I rest my case embarassedembarassed

Not so cold this morning as the cold NE wind has dropped, when out with Rosa ,

The spring that started flowing when we had all the rains ,is now just a damp patch

,It is nice to walk out without a major wash down of every thing on return

Met our "man who can" out with his dogs ,he is getting fed up with being at home ,but has found that bags of rice have not all got the same amount of grains in ,so when this is all over will contact Tesco to query if there should be a price difference

I can’t just “nip to the shops”, so 8 days ago (just before lockdown) we drove to Booths and did our usual shop, and bought a bit more fruit and veg.  I have a well stocked freezer - meat, apples (2019 was a very good year), leftovers frozen for another day etc, and most dry baking goods in the cupboard. The fridge always seems to be full of cheese. So we can carry on without shopping for several weeks. I also have about 16kg of bread flour (bought in bulk last month) so can still make all our bread.

Years ago - 1970’s - I tried out complete self sufficiency and some of the tactics have never left me. It was after watching “Survivors” on TV. My husband was not impressed with my version of currants - elderberries dried in the airing cupboard.

But I confess to having an Asda delivery last week, and I’ve another coming tomorrow. I share it with my daughter in law next door, and hope that what was in stock when I clicked, is still in stock when it arrives. Lots of wiping and spraying of stuff before putting it away.

Thanks for that OP, made me chuckle. Not least because I remember some of the drawings from the original books!😁

I have quite a few very funny Covid19 related photos, songs, memes and videos, sadly a bit too risqué to post on here.

OH went into critical meltdown yesterday. She was down to her last two bags of crisps. Fortunately stocks have been replenished from the local Lidl along with a few other essentials including<drumroll> soap. At the conclusion of the exercise I was summoned by text to carry the spoils home. I am now able to scratch my ankle without bending.

It has got me pondering about "essential" food shopping. Would that preclude purchasing such luxuries as truffles or quails in aspic?

Give up truffles! Certainly not the chocolate ones. It’s well known they are medicinal.😱

    Kj

    Got our email today.

Going online there was one slot available but we already have a delivery coming a few days later so it didn't seem right to bag another one! I noticed that they only seem to be releasing about 7/10 days at a time which could be a good thing.

Thanks for that Oneputt light hearted humour the good old Ladybird  books.

Well we have had a light sprinkling of snow this morning  but now all melting away after the warmer weather of the weekend and should be even warmer this coming weekend.

I am off shopping to our local Carrefour Contact first thing on Tuesday as we only allowed 1 person in the car at any time except for medical emergencies, did have a walk yesterday to the local poubelles as we do not have house collection here and did a circular walk by a local track on the way back as only upto 1km from your home and 1 hour duration and as OH not been through the gates for nearly a fortnight made a change.

They only do click and collect around here except our local Carrefour does not, would be nice to order online, as some of the DIY shops are doing online.

Thanks for the link OP.  It gave me a laugh as I remember the Ladybird books very well. In fact we still have a few of them - the grandchildren are not terribly impressed!

I love your garden Bakers2.  You have really worked hard. We chickened out in the cold wind this weekend.

Red Letter day here today. The heating engineers are here putting in our new boiler. smile All seems to be going well so far. Not only that, after days of trying I finally managed to get a delivery slot with Morrisons!!!!  I was amazed as I have only ever came across a queue of about an hour in previous attempts.  It isn't until the 19th April but as we have a Tesco delivery coming today we should be fine. Mind you that depends on what is left off our Tesco order today frown  I have been trying Tesco, Morrisons and Asda in turn to get a slot. Maybe the supermarkets are getting themselves organised with extra staff and delivery slots - I do hope so.  I hope all those of you trying for a delivery slot get one soon.

I have decided that Easter Eggs for the grandchildren is not essential shopping.

Our cat has solved his own problem by eating chihuahua biscuits on the quiet, he is on special "weight management" diet biscuits but we know now why the weight loss didn't seem to be ongoing. He refuses wet food but supplements it with wild life outside (not that he's out much, he's lying upside down on the bed just now, dreaming of the next dog biscuit binge no doubt...wink 😺😸 )

Mixed weather today, sunny and clouds with the odd light rain shower.

Managed to get all the windows cleaned this morning, OH did the outside while I did the inside.

Then a good clean of the side covered deck, I had a lot of plants on it over winter that just needed a bit of shelter from the wind, frost and snow. Some of them have now gone outside to fend for themselves, while a few others are still being mollycoddled.laughing

Bit more housework to do then off for our walk. At the moment we are not 'suffering' from this lockdown, nothing has really changed for us personally, as we can still go out for a walk and the shops (once a week) go out in the garden and get on with jobs around the house. We would be doing all of these things anyway when at home, OH is missing his Men's shed, more the fact that they all have a good chat when there. wink

Ours arrived today and I have had a quick scan through. Looks as though it was compiled before the lockdown happened so in a way it seems to be carry on regardless! There is a mention of the virus but only as a generality.

One interesting snippet was the DG's column where he was talking about Cayton Village and the on going refurbishment. Apparently there will be two new pitch types available here when its finished. Super serviced pitches which will be larger with picnic tables and hedged. There will also be smaller pitches designed for smaller caravans and motorhomes. I will await with interest for more details.

Mixed weather here today.....sun....clouds.....sun....clouds......sun....clouds.  OH put on some washing and the clouds immediately came over.

Been keeping busy doing some cleaning and furniture re-arrangement.  OH asked be to clean the bathroom floor while she hoovered upstairs, got a bit carried away and started cleaning other bits too!

Then a pre lunch chat with DD and Callum, and after lunch we re-arranged the furniture in the sun room, been meaning to do it for ages.

Now drilling fixing holes on the secret birthday project, last stage.

OH has checked our  Waitrose order again, still intact, will be interesting to see what does arrive on Wednesday.

David.......we can only see slots up till Saturday here at the moment,  and they are all booked.
