KjNelln hang on to that delivery slot the others are right they are more valuable than gold dust at the moment. I cant get click and collect or delivery at Tesco just checked again fully booked to 18 April.

Tried, Tesco waitrose - they concentrating on vulnerable, registered OH a few days ago when I discovered you could, can't get any further until verified, Iceland have got a basket full - not slots, Morrison's registered no slots and Sainsbury not taking new folk.

I've never online shopped before, so reading and learning on here. Double up on what you can as I understand your dilemma re substitute but is there a box you can add such info?

Good luck, stay safe. I'm in a Boots virtual queue to get into the website at the mo 30 minute predicted wait, now about 60,000 in front of me. Tried yesterday and almost 200,000 when I joined, I checked often for about 3 hours and then forgot! 😤 don't suppose they'll have what I want - but fills the time........

Edit I've been waiting 30 mins so far still staying 18 mins. It's great to know, little person on a status bar, number in front of you and estimated time of wait but I expect latter depends on how long those already on the website users browse?

Well that's my face cream sorted 😂😂😂 two hours in the queue for the website, once on pretty speedy, never used it before. Put items in the basket, Advantage card added, check out a guest.

If only getting food was as simple. Friend was going yesterday for hers and bits for us, non urgent stuff, too busy everywhere - just texted to say shes awoken covered in hot itchy rash and headache, googling to see if she can identify what it is. Looks horrible 😯. She working as her school open for key workers hopefully itll not be too nasty!

well a good point, but I have had the same hair-cutting system for about thirty years, it was at every start of every half term and now every six weeks Mrs C would get the electric razor out and do a 'number 4' all over.

Remembered the clicks went forward innocent

Brue can't believe I allowed my hairdresser not to do my colour last time, she said it would be fine until next time didn't want to take my money for something good that wasn't justified. Thought how nice at the time not so sure now! At least it's only highlights 😲. Mind grows real fast cut every 4 weeks so good job were in self isolation. Won't be any good for plaits pony tail etc have to learn how to do a turban 😃. Bet there'll be as big a rush for appointments when we can, going to be the next loo roll shortage!

Gardening again coffee break despite altering clocks  I'm on track. Had to go and get a hood, MUCH cooler and windier here today, hood was needed to keep the snow shower off my lovely locks 😂😂😂

Time to do the last bit but it's the hardest, Moss and weeds inbetween golden rod roots.  Already decided on a cheat, poke prod and do my best them cover with some of my last remaining bag on John innes.

Strong northerly winds still battering us which have brought our first wintery showers this year.  Just lit the fire so all cosy here with no intention of doing anything too strenuous.  Going to have another go at sorting photos only about another 30 thousand or so to go, hopefully I will be able to decided quickly what I can delete😜

I used to cut the officers' hair when I was doing my national service, they never complained so must have been OK!

We have clippers and proper scissors, OH  cuts mine, and I cut hers

We’ve been out for a drive round - but only round the fields in our “Gator”. I had planned to take a picnic, but there’s a bitterly cold north wind. So back home for some cheese.

I had considered giving OH some cooking lessons, but the response has been muted.

So it will be me making Sunday Dinner for supper tonight. No change there than. May I can get him to peel a swede.

Sunny here, but cold, below zero overnight.  No wind as yet so does not feel too bad.  Front of house is south facing, lot of glass, so we are circulating the heat into the rest of the house with a fan. If only the sun would stop "coming and going".

Just sent in our gas and electricity readings, I can see that  one result of all this staying home is going to be a good income for the utility providers.

I can do OH's hair, he hasn't got much but there's no way I'll let him near mine even though he's good at DIY and hedging!! wink

Bitterly cold wind here today, will take our little dog out later. OH is outside doing one of the lawns he forgot yesterday, we have seven lawns but this isn't Brue Towers it's just the way our garden is divided up on a large odd shaped plot. smile

Bright and sunny here today but cold outside. We have sat and had breakfast in the conservatory first time this year and it was nice and warm in there. Planning on heading back out in to the garden to finish off some jobs we never got done yesterday.

Bright, sunny day here, but it's bloomin' cold so have had to put the shorts back in the wardrobe.

Walking the dogs is a bit of a challenge  (one getting on a bit and one staining at the leash!). I did the morning walk (Mrs M mumbling something about the clocks changing and it's not even 7 o'clock yet from a recumbent position! wink) and she's just set off with them now.

One of the activity organisers from Dad's care home is sending and receiving emails for us and had a nice picture this morning of the gents in the garden area playing wheelchair football - all 2m+ apart of course - no hugging for goalscoring there which would be a bit much as the score last week was 20 - 18 apparently (the goalies have got a lot to answer for!) laughing

Stay safe and well everyone!  smile

Mrs WN was queuing in M&S the other day. There was a bit of a queue but all 2 metres apart.Mrs WN just happened to mention to the woman in front during a conversation that MiL was panicking. Not about the virus but about how she was going to get her hair done. About 6 women all within hearing distance echoed the sentiment. Funnily enough no men seemed bothered.smile

Return to your hippy roots ladies. Let it grow. Think of the money you'll be saving.

As a paid up member of the goalies' union, I object to that unwarranted aspersion on one of our members!

When I had conceded a 'soft' goal, I used to throw my head in my hands ... and dropped it sealed

Teammates nicknamed me 'Weetabix Man' [remember the advert]; Dracula [can't cope with crosses]; and 'Teflon' [nothing sticks] at various times during a less than illustrious career.

No chance Corners,  my only un-changed clock is the one on my dashboard and it is too blooming cold to go out there, handbook ready, to alter it. So I'll just use a post-it to remind me 'til I get round to using the motor rather more regularly !!

Thanks for caring  folks!    However, if we could avoid the use of "elderly", that would be ideal. laughing

OH had a look at our Waitrose order, nothing has been removed as yet, but she has taken your advice and added a few store cupboard items, a few treats, and a few more things that can be frozen, in the hope we will not drop below the magic £60 order.

She also e mailed them a query regarding what happens if we do, but not expecting the reply will come before the delivery.

Had a look at the delivery slots in the future too, but looks like they have not released anything beyond this coming Saturday as yet.   This week is now fully booked, I think we were lucky to get a slot at all.

OH was just saying that one thing this on line shopping is not, is quick!

So much to choose from.  I expect once we get the hang of it, we will get faster.  DS uses it all the time, Tesco in his case, and he has a standard weekly order which he alters as required, she saw that we can do similar at Waitrose.

At least it whiles away a few hours.

Better go and reset all the clocks now.

If the Waitrose online site is like the Tesco one K, (which I suspect it will be) after initial set up, you might see a heading like “Favourites” or “previous” If this is the case, you just tick all that you had on a previous order. It might prompt you to add things you have forgotten, or after a few uses, it will show you things you might like! Trust me, Tesco, John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, will have your lifestyle and preferences carefully logged.......😂Nothing escapes them. Only Amazon has more of your details if you use that extensively. Oh, and the Russians if you own a Samsung TV🤣

Apologies for the elderly. I will use the term “life skills enhanced” from now on👍

    Thanks Kj

I have not had mine yet, if at all!!! I wonder if what branch you use might determine you being included. I think here in MK they just can't keep up with demand which is restricting the release of new dates? We don't fit into ultra high risk category, which I suppose we should be grateful for but we are both in our seventies and have been told to stay indoors. I have put a post on the Waitrose Facebook page seeking clarification.

We signed up for Iceland today but again its an issue of available slots. I can see me waiting up to around midnight to see if they release dates for beyond the current six days?

The problem with all this uncertainty is that if you suddenly get all the orders you could well run out of space to store everything!!!

Got a click and collect slot for Asda for next Sunday. Not used to it, loading basket, over £100, suddenly login page appears. Denies knowing me! When I do get in basket empty 😤😤😤😤. Going to put roast in/on. More effort wasted, will try again when I've calmed down.......

My final successful order (Waitrose) is click and collect I just took whatever was on offer. OH not pleased as he will be doing the collecting and I keep upping the order. I've noticed that Asda and Morrison's are only allowing slots two weeks ahead. When we have the Waitrose one sorted I'll start looking again. I think I'll be ordering a lot more from the local farm shop if their boxes look ok. We have a small community shop locally and I know they are very busy with orders delivered by volunteers, stock is variable and I think it's only fair to leave it to those in most need.

Hope you have more luck with your next attempt B2! In normal times it's not like this at all.

Welcome!
