I caught most of the last episode of the Michael Wood series. Fascinating history update of the Terracotta Army as the archaelogical research and restoration continues.

Instead of the 10 o'clock news last night I watched "Friday night dinner" on Ch4. It might be my sense of humour but it was laugh out loud involving a caravan. smile

I had good news late in the evening from our local farm shop who were ploughing through their emails. We can have a veg and a fruit box plus their free range eggs on Monday. Daughter's partner will collect for us. So a better end to the day!

Lovely sunny start to the day,  although cold quite strong North Easterly wind coming up the valley on the return leg ,and we did not see anybody, out , even though it is an hours  circular walk

Co op short of staff this morning and some shelves still empty ,ok for milk and bread no toilet rolls still ,manager says he only gets in what is available, from their warehouses ,  as although he is advised there is plenty of most things,  the logistics of matching the goods from the manufacturers  ,with getting the goods to stores is becoming difficult,

Also noticed a couple of our local buses have the front seats nearest the driver are all taped out of use

Been a fan from several series back. However I do wonder if Mark Heap has any other character than the one he plays in this series, he seems very much the same in the Maggie Cole series with Dawn French!

I read an article on the BBC that governments run on tactics and the army runs on logistics...I think the army have a point! wink

Just read a tweet or similar social media post from a teenager in France on the the problems of self isolation. It must be a spoof, but anyone with offspring in that age group can relate to it:

'After 4 daysself isolation, my mother told me to go out. She'd happily pay the Fine ...' sealed

There's also another photoshopped picture of an exhausted dog outside a block of flats with the caption:

'Everybody in the apartment block wants to walk me. When is it all going to end? ...' sealed Paws for thought?

My sister and family live in Limekilns, they have been there for 32 years now.  They took a while to get used to the different sayings and idiosyncrasies at first, moving up from Surrey.  Our late parents loved it so much in Scotland that moved up when Dad retired.  We were looking forward to a visit to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary in June, but it will have to wait now, 😢.   Much more important issues to deal with first!

For days now I have been trying to get an online delivery slot with Morrisons. Because they only book up to 21 days in advance it is very difficult to get a slot and the only way seems to be to log in around midnight as the next day slots becomes available. Thought I was in luck early this morning (12.30am) Selected slot and went for payment only to find payment didn't work, even had to put in one of those special security codes in the bank sends you! Today decided to delete order, far too much hassle for no result!

Phew. Managed to survive. It came back on towards 10 last night. You could hear a collective sigh as people realised that their overstocked freezers were safe.

Couldn't move to the caravan TG as we weren't going to take MiL with us and thought it a bit much to leave her on her own. Anyway it couldn't have been that cold as I overheated in the night!

We did have a lovely night sky to look at. Much better than the tele.

Saturday (and maybe Sunday if I'm lucky) dedicated as "Me" time for all three of us. Free to do whatever we want as long as it's not chores, cooking excepted.

I don't know why Francis but I missed the series so to cheer myself up I've ordered a set 1-5...there is enough going on to need a cheerful distraction. OH was fed up that he missed the 10 o'clock news!  wink

If there's another clear night the crescent moon and Venus in the west are stunning at the moment (as said in "what have you seen!") Look out for them after sunset.

Good to hear things are back on and running.

DK I have spent more time than I knew I ever had trying to sort out on line orders. In the past when working I used Tesco and very rarely had any problems but appreciate everything is on overload. I also had deliveries from a local store in Scotland in the past, the only store for miles around, it was a life saver!

This morning I checked out our only remaining order from Waitrose, more things had been taken off. An elderly neighbour had asked me to get some washing machine liquid, she is finding it difficult to understand that her "favourite" might not be around. A bit like asking for a china tea cup and saucer in a war zone. winkI'm tacking bits on and seeing things taken off...

Apologies if I seem obsessed with food!! laughing

I think my GP is an astronomer. Every time I have an appointment he says 'I must look at Uranus ...' I think asking me to bend over saves the bother of setting up his tripod for the telescope undecided

An elderly neighbour had asked me to get some washing machine liquid, she is finding it difficult to understand that her "favourite" might not be around. A bit like asking for a china tea cup and saucer in a war zone.

Reminds me of one of our neighbours, she is 80 and he is 78: their daughter comes nearly every day before she goes to work, she doesn't go inside, but leaves shopping on the doorstep for them.  He was telling our other neighbour that "she doesn't get what we normally get.  We get Wensleydale and Stilton with cranberry cheese, but she just got us 2 blocks of Cheddar.  And she doesn't get the brown bread we normally get".

It did make us laugh; it was said in total innocence, as you say, they don't seem to realise what it's like in the supermarkets at the moment.

I hasten to add that when our neighbours told us about that, we were stood in our own gardens well over 2m away from each other wink

It’s OH’s weekend off and in different circumstances we may have gone away, but we did walk round to the caravan (parked in a field behind the house) and liberated 4 toilet rolls (given to son and family), pack of microwave rice and a half bottle of rapeseed oil.

But we did get a sleep in.

Maybe after lunch.......things are starting to look brighter.

Our village Mum's are coming up with ways of keeping the smaller children occupied while out for a walk.

They have asked folk to put a 'Teddy' in the window so the little ones can see how many they can spot.

Next week it will be something different they have to look out for.

There are lots of pictures being displayed in windows that the children have drawn, lots of 'rainbows' with stay safe written underneath.

We even have one Mum who has a 'dinosaur ' suit, going round the village at set times to wave to the children who are indoors.

Lots of effort being put in to keep everyone being good.

Yes, I have seen the Teddy thing mentioned TG. Our family WhatsApp group is pinging all day long, all sorts of things, photos, videos, craft ideas, recipes, lots of stuff absolutely hilarious, but far too risqué for on here. Glad to say everyone is well, helping themselves, others and neighbours out as much as safely possible.

We have a parcel to unwrap next. It’s in the fumigation zone at the moment awaiting us to don PPE.

Clean my bell, no knockers 😉, and letter box daily innocent

I love the creative way they're trying to get the message across.

Tammygirl we have teddies in windows. I change ours and move it to another window  so they have to pay attention. Rainbows too. I can't join in that as don't have crayons (anyway concentrating on the garden still). On our neighbourhood WhatsApp someone posted a picture of rainbow chalked on the pavement and a hopscotch grid with stay safe.

Apart from a walk to the post box 4 days ago I've not gone out for 9 days, too scared I'll bring it back with me to OH. So not seen things but daughter in NZ - total lockdown said they spotted 43 on 1st day walk. Not been updated since surprised. Can't be easy with children of any age.

Tammygirl are your grandchildren locked in in their school?

Milliehull can dust get behind radiator? embarassedembarassed

Still in the garden, found our gardens worm paradise this morning, cant count them with every handfork full. Done half or the last bed, just the fiddliest quarter to go now. Cool and breezy. Giving up for today, hand really aches - ill tackle the last bit tomorrow. Had to squat for couple of hours this morning so legs sore too. Never mind bound to be something to occupy me after a bath! Just glanced at the sky looks rather dark, I don't need rain for another 48 hours 😱

    Stay safe folks.

We did indeed look out for them Brue and lovely they were. Just wish we had more nights like last night to enjoy them. Too much light pollution around here.

Nice relaxing day after our obligatory walk. A real nip in the wind today.

Don't normally bother after seeing it a few times previously, but last night at 7:41pm was the Space Station passing overhead with a good west to east line.

Clear sky with the sun below the horizon but allowing a strong reflection from it, a good sighting with a good turn of speed laughing
