KjellNN,
The 'ladder work is for men' possibly stems from the old'Knock, knock' joke about Nicholas girls not climbing trees ... Of course, there was also an exemption for Scotsmen wearing kilts, especially in windy weather

Just joined in 'the clap' thanks Steve made me laugh but cant think of it normally now 😱. So it's the clap and cheer, rowdy lot around here 😂😂. Lots out and down the road much noisier. If we do it again we'll have to change that!!

ABM ironing towels?? I iron very little, folding immediately after removing from the line or drier. My late MIL used to iron everything including socks and pants. Her son had a lesson in how things are now very early on 😀
Metheven Not been a supporter of gun ownership as in some countries including USA - but, very tongue in cheek, it might sort things out quickly where folk can't seem to heed guidance, stop in perpetuating down the generations too 😱🤐🤐🤐🤐

Lots out in our area, very proud.
Neighbourhood WhatsApp suggesting we do every Thursday, we all seem up for it. Local police posted a photo on fb of cars parked with the blues flashing thank ing NHS etc. I think they need thanks too. Tough job at the best of times.

We did our shopping yesterday morning, with both Homebargains and Aldi both quiet. We were able to get everything we wanted. Then went for a walk by the sea on the way home. Spent the afternoon cleaning the car's wheels. Today, another fine sunny one, I cleaned the caravan, quite a task after our last trip.

, Puleese, Brian does have some standards you know
.
A goodly number were out clapping etc round here but some have very dodgy time pieces I reckon
it was almost as if there was a built in ripple effect .
But I will be able to pass my own thoughts on to the Diabetes Clinic Nursing Sister when she fulfills my appointment early on Monday Morning -- By Phone of course .

Oh I do envy you living by the sea, wish I did.
When we were in lockdown on Lanzarote last week (was it only a week ago) it didn't seem so bad as we could look out of the resort and see the sea, didn't feel so 'locked down'
Glad you managed to get all your shopping, I'm off tomorrow to do ours, my 93 year old next door neighbour's and my sister and BIL's all of them in the high vulnerable category. We are going early to avoid the crowds
don't really anticipate any now, the shops have got them selves organised now, with someone on the door watching how many are in and stopping you if its to many.
Rubbish weather here today so no work outdoors, going to get colder over the weekend but no rain for us so that's good.

We're one of the farms that BBC North West Tonight feature throughout the year. They usually send out a reporter and cameraman. But this week our son James was his own cameraman and sent the filming off to the programme. So watch tonight at 6:30 for the shaky footage - probably cut down to 1 minute.

Maybe I should have put this in the Music thread - but perhaps more will see it here. It's always emotional when he sings it at concerts. More relevant now than ever.

Really good Goldie, I have hijacked it and put it on my FB page.
Looking for jobs to do outside this morning and told Mrs one I've thought about getting on the roof and giving our solar panels a spruce up and then clean out the troughing. I only caught bits of the response, neck, A&E, idiot so duly chastised I'll be getting someone in and content myself with hoeing between the seed beds
Enjoy another sunny day folk

Goldie, You are truly a naughty girl
I trusted you to be good and well behaved
. Turned the Amps up Sat back to enjoy myself. When I got up off the floor three three neighbours called to see if I was still ok. Exceedingly Embarrassing ( But great fun thanks

Dry day today but no sun, bit breezy but not to bad.
Up and out early as we went to the shops, been home now 8 days now and well so hoping to stay that way.
Shopping done for our 93 year old neighbour, also for my sister and BIL, got a few bits for us as we didn't need that much.
Shops not that busy and have everything back in them. Aldi had a person on the door making sure that there isn't to many folk in at any one time, there are marks on the floor at the tills to show you where you have to stand and the same at the packing shelves.
Asda have divided up their foyer so you can only go in one way and come out another. The shop has arrows on the floor directing you round the shop so its a one way system to stop folk bumping into each other by going the wrong way round
everyone behaving well and decent. No shortages in Asda either.
Will go for a walk later on.
Stay safe and well folks.

The Virus creeps ever closer. Just talking, from a distance mind, to a near neighbour in his late 80s. His daughter now has the virus. She delivers food etc. to them, always leaving it on the doorstep and she always wears disposable gloves when delivering. She works from home so despite it all she has contracted it. Luckily they have another daughter locally they can rely on or ourselves if needed. Fortunately they have always been self sufficient in the growing veg department and buy their meat in bulk so their freezers are full at the moment.
Had 2 car washing sessions today. Not a job I do very often but seemed a shame to miss out on another beautiful day.
Stay safe everyone.
Oneputt, I've had the same "conversation" albeit it was one way.

I'm inside more today, lovely sunshine but a chilly wind. The virus lumbers nearer to us too WN, OH doesn't want to do his usual empty shelf Saturday shop at our nearest Co-op tomorrow. I think we can manage without a paper and lotto tickets! This is why I'm trying to sort out deliveries.
Had a baking session, eaten into it already. A friend of ours who lives on his own says he making smaller meals to make everything last but is enjoying his railway set in the attic without a guilty conscience that he should be doing something else!
