Our suspicious activity in the road, 2 lots apparently 😃., turned out to be legit. BT were working on the telephone cables and the white van picking up bricks and putting in van turned out to be a delivery to the wrong number hence collection before correct delivery. Eeeeh at least we know our eyes and whatsapp work!

ABM and B2. Ours will only do the household waste at the moment and have asked that any households with symptoms put their waste inside a bin bag double wrapped inside another bag.
Well believe it or not it's hot outside and my goose grass campaign on our footpath/right of way came to a sticky end...pun intended. It grows on every bit of hedging and totally swamps it by the summer. I've also put in a few Ragged Robin plants I've been growing over the winter. Have been trying to increase the wild planting and it's gradually working. Pink Campions doing well too and a few hidden bluebells under the trees have survived.

Yes, funny enough we noticed while out for out walk today, that the cars on the main road through the village, were going much faster than normal. I think someone else on here had comment on the same thing a few days ago.
Bad behaviour, be it slashing tyres on an ambulance, setting fire to Iceland vans or mindless individuals smashing windscreens and wing mirrors has to be the lowest of low from society
just what do these mindless idiots get from such behaviour. Its at times like these that I think about days of old and public flogging

Anyway on a lighter note of 'what are you up to today'
So far we have caught up with the news, ha what news.
Stripped the bed and washed the bedding, still have to remake it.
I have steamed all the carpets throughout the house.
Spent 90 mins in the garden (its not a great day here but at least we are dry)
OH was doing something in his shed, not sure what

We went for a walk all around the village and only bumped into 2 folk OH knew, one form his army days and the other from the men's shed.
Just finished a cuppa and chocolate hobnob
shouldn't have as we are supposed to be loosing weight after our 3 weeks on indulgence.Time to have a go on the Wii before I go and make dinner, chicken curry tonight is on the cards.
Not sure what is on the TV tonight but we are still catching up with programmes we missed while away

Stay safe everyone and do be kind and thoughtful

Bruce, I joined in the cacophony this afternoon but I don’t think I added to your discomfort. I also fixed new hinges to the shed door, been promising to do that for months now.
Mrs One shut herself away and I can hear her strumming away on her ukulele
Stay safe out there all

Our garden bin was not emptied this week. I thought perhaps I had transgressed by putting too much sawdust in it (normally permitted), but after reading on here I asked OH to check our council website, and she found that all recycling collections are cancelled from this week, and the dump is shut.
May have to resurrect the compost tumbler.

Really lovely day here.🌞 Used our exercise period for a 3 mile walk in the forest. We have access within about 100 metres, so are very lucky. Reasonably easy to maintain the required distances on the wide tracks. Not many folk about in any event. They closed the car park after the weekend, so now it's only locals.

We've had an email from Brittany Ferries to say that our ferry Portsmouth - Bilbao (15th April) has now been cancelled, so we now have a voucher for the full amount, which is valid for 2 years.
They also said if we had another booking we will be informed nearer the time as they are working their way through them (or words to that effect)
Just wondering if C&MC will extend the life of the 'vouchers' they sell. We have 4 that are due to run out at the end of this year, provided things settle down and we can get over there we will use them.

Covid-19
Good news/ Bad news
First the good- the OH managed to get some fresh air by going into the back garden. Whats good about that? Its the first time for over a year that she has managed the steps due to her mobility issues.
Bad news? she found some jobs for me that could do with doing!

A very nice day out there today. Sunshine all day, gently getting on with the garden project, although lugging the uprooted slabs out to the front took its toll on my back. The ‘Green Bin’ collection was suspended yesterday, the very day our collection was due, so looks like we’ll have to stack it up...somewhere. The way things are looking, it’ll be ok to burn it at some point (when it’s dried out). It’s early days yet, but must admit that I’ve already had enough of this whole CV thing
We’ve been self isolating since the start, pretty much. Anyway, the fence needs painting, something to get on with.1 -
It was a lovely sunny day here. Spent some time in the garden tidying things up and cutting back the winter growth. We also cleaned the sponges on the pond filter. It makes the water flow increase and the fish love to swim under the return pipe in the bubbles.
Also did some system testing on the laptop for work. Some users are finding it difficult to log on remotely, so I helped out by testing certain areas to find out why.
We are both back in work tomorrow as we are classed as key/critical workers.1 -
Robsail, so pleased to hear your OH was able to get out in the garden
Our normal bin collection took place today but I understand that the garden waste collection is suspended and our recylcing centre is now closed. We are having to store all the garden rubbish we have accumulated over the last few days in bags for the time being. OH has mended our garden bench today and I have washed more curtains and cleaned windows and outside paintwork. Beautiful weather but set to change at the weekend so cupboard clearing planned. Long video call with eldest son this evening😊

SO ,left the "Waverley" ,,,with regret 'this morning early & was put on the re-scheduald "Red Funnel " service.,,only carrying mostly trucks now ,NO bar or restaurant facilities,,you have to stay in the vehicle !! Not a lot of traffic about ,BUT ,,too many ordinary cars/motorists !! Horrendous delay & diversion off the M25 atJ7/J6 closed due to vehicle fire.Big re-route via M23 then through Godstone etc.Fortunately i know the old road too SO used the A 25 via Westerham etc.Four hours instead of three ,but still 'rolling !!0 -
It is a lot when one takes in that the crane on the lorry would have to drop it at the nearest point to the garden about 75yds away, and our garden is tiered, so also up 4 steps to where it would need to be transported to,,and on the wrong side of 75 with heart problems, would not be such a good idea,

ps and it is all uphill from where the bags would be dropped
