Another lovely but chilly day. Pottered in the garden this morning. Managed a walk along the river to the beach. Hardly anyone around so manage to keep really good separation. Plenty of activity going on the other side of the river. Jack up ship being loaded with another 4 turbines for installation offshore. Gas platform topsides being dismantled for recycling. Nice to see a British fishing patrol vessel moored up
Mrs One went shopping and said our local Morrison’s (other supermarkets available) was very quiet and had reasonable stocks of most things, so perhaps the panic buying has subsided

Hopefully so - I popped along the road to our local Sainsburys this morning for a few essentials (almost out of coffee!) and it was surprisingly quiet. Most shelves reasonably full, but not a lot of fresh meat and no flour for breadmaking, though there was yeast! Alcohol shelves virtually empty though!

Happened to mention to young mother who lives opposite that we were finding it hard to find paracetemol. MiL has arthritis and pains from osteoporosis and takes 6 a day. She used to have them on prescription but "it's costing the NHS money and I can buy my own" so she stopped the prescription about 4 years ago.
Later this afternoon 4 packets dropped through the letterbox with a note saying let them know.
Quite touched for words. Small acts can mean so much.

OH also takes paracetamol regularly due to a lot of pain, even 5 years on, following a half shoulder replacement, we usually buy at Aldi or Lidl, but have not seen any for ages, may have to ask doc for a prescription.
The hospital prescribed Cocodamol, but she cannot take them regularly as they give her constipation.

You can buy paracetamol online, just ordered 100 soluble tablets. See here https://www.simpleonlinepharmacy.co.uk/ if it helps. I take it daily because of joint pain although I have always been reluctant to ask for a prescription as its normally so easy to get over the counter but we do live in strange times!

My brother and I have had many a giggle, more recently especially. When we started sorting out at mum's we found a large amount of toilet rolls, kitchen rolls and paracetamol. My brother shopped for her and commented on the amount of toilet rolls he bought. She was 9 years old when the war broke out and has always kept a good stock of items and stuff, loads and loads 😯, that had wear and could be useful in the future, I can understand how this came about.
Paracetamol were prescribed by the GP in 100's 😯. Until they stopped offering them. I suspect she renewed her prescription regardless, we had had discussions about getting pills and not taking them 😤but they were 'free' according to her - pre paid according to me and they didn't have to be accepted!
We divided up the toilet rolls between us and have both depleted her supply, having had a toilet roll buying holiday - if only we'd known. We both had some paracetamol but as we couldn't offer the surplus to friends or the food bank, well actually I didnt think to offer to the latter, we returned the surplus to the chemist for destruction. Something I have always thought was wasteful.
We have laughingly said we used her legacy with gay abandon and have probably unknowingly squandered a great deal of our inheritance! They could have made us millionaires in the words of del boy 😂😂😂😂😂.
I hope those who need pain relief secure some, our chemist had no paracetamol to buy last week, they've not been able to get any, don't know if it applied to prescriptions.

We have found paracetamol in Asda, Home Bargains, Nisa and our local Spar, only allowed 2 pkts per person but that is normal.
In our area we have found that the smaller village shops seem to have all you need in way of food and other supplies. Its the big superstores that are out of just about everything. Probably with the online orders and click and collect adding to the over stocking by some.
Hopefully with tonight's news announcement the shops will get a break and have time to restock fully.

It’s my understanding that a lot of paracetamol comes from India. I seem to recall a news report stating that India (the involved companies) had decided to cut back/curtail production. That was a couple of weeks ago though, so might have changed.

Sorted over phone, given a time to collect.
It's another lovely sunny day here, dog has been walked, some household tasks to sort and then a walk to the post box, our eldest daughter's 50th card, she arrived in my life aged seven so I can't believe how the time has flown! 🌼🌷🌼

Happy 50th birthday to your eldest daughter. Sounds like you have a lovely relationship 🍾
Another beautiful day here. More gardening later as I need to check supplies and ask a friend 😉. Like to be able to give them time and chance to get things before were desperate! Milk and veg running low down - surprise surprise!
Seen some brilliant posts on the situation of fb and a what app group. Don't know how to post here but they raised a smile. I needed that after reading something else written in very dramatic language 😲.
Stay safe folks more importantly stay sane! For some of us the latter may be something we've never been 😂😂

Happy birthday to your daughter B2🎂
Lovely day here in East Norfolk albeit a little chilly. Day started with the Joe Wicks exercises, I couldn’t do all the exercises due to medical conditions but Mrs One did really well. Window cleaners came this morning, no contact as we pay by BAC’s
We’ve all watched the news from China, Italy and Spain so why do some stupid folk think they are invariable 😤

Talking about beds, after a new spare bed arrived yesterday we'll now have to wrap the old one up in the packaging of the new one and find somewhere to store it. Probably won't look to good on the front lawn so will have to find somewhere suitable.

Spoke to DD and Callum on Skype yesterday for their latest news.
Newest member of their extended family, SIL's niece, arrived a couple of weeks earlier than expected, on the 21st, but Mum, Dad and baby all well and now back home
Callum's nursery was open to take children of key workers, but only 11 children turned up (they have 42 staff) so they have been instructed to close down and children will be sent elsewhere.
Similar situation at SIL's school, which normally has 1700 pupils and was designated as the centre for the region. Very few children arrived so they are being transferred to a smaller school, and SIL will also be going there on a rota basis, exact details unknown as yet
DIL is also a teacher in the same education authority and she will also be going to that school, but as a job sharing primary school teacher (2 1/2 days per week) she will not start her rota till after the Easter break and will do her normal times.
So things are slowly getting organised.
I have spent the morning in my garage, having found something more important than tidying to do!

Oneputt its brue's daughter who's 50 😂
Not sure that I could have produced one 50 years and definitely underage 😂😂
Glorious here again but chilly wind. Phoned a friend to ask to have some shopping added to her list when so goes, her daughters have kindly done and delivered it. All at double arms length! I forgot to ask for milk as we are about to open our next bottle, not an issue, it was just to have ready. OH does like a glass in the evening! The girls did however bring a white rather than green cabbage, not something we eat. So put a note on our small WhatsApp group to say free to a good home, no takers yet so we can't be alone 😉. Said I'd forgotten to ask for milk when I offered the cabbage, immediate offer of a flask full and another neighbour offering to buy when they next shop. I'll put the white cabbage on the area fb neighbourhood watch page if there's still no takers. I hate waste and now it seems even worse. More importantly they got me dried kitten food, - our hedgehog has returned 😀.
More gardening but typical Essex clay much harder today and since my neck and shoulders ache I'll probably postpone the last 2 beds today. Might even give them a good water but we had a heavy frost overnight!
Facetimed with daughter and the girls they go on lockdown 1159 Wednesday level 4. All new cases there at the moment have returned from overseas and as of last Sunday it was compulsory 14 day self isolate. Those not already home may be isolated I hotels shipped there on buses. A friends niece on her way back after attending her father's funeral in Canada. Very limited numbers and ger sister had been in the States and to self isolate so couldnt attend.
Sad and very different times. My niece is booked to marry at the end of May - not sure that that will happen now 😢. Had said to my brother maybe they should go tie the knot quietly as not being married, that have a child - earlier than planned 😯, had several legal and financial implications - don't think it can happen now anyway.
I hear that there will be plenty of fresh items to harvest, salad etc, but they're desperate for folk to harvest it. Hope some come forward to help, they'll be paid! Cant offer myself wrong wrea and self isolating cos of OH.
Well that's lunch over must make tracks to continue. I have some bagged compost I'll mulch the already done beds with, as I won't be putting in on mum and dads grave anytime soon.
Stay safe folks

We have friends with grown up children planning a wedding, they also have children, it's probably a time now to make sure everything is ok for the children's sakes. So I understand what you are saying B2.
Not to worry Oneputt, I guessed who the birthday greetings were for, and thank you both, much appreciated!
Just discovered our elderly neighbours have got us all running around for self raising flour and paracetamol...OH is a bit miffed, but it's a good survival technique! They'll probably find their back door looks like a sand bag drop off point!! Neatly stacked SR Flour.

Lots of Councils asking that gardening and DIY projects be reined in because a] Bin collections being disrupted and/or suspended b] Household Waste Recycling Centre reduced capacity {Hampshire had 29,000 visits over the weekend, whereas the normal peak on a Bank Holiday weekend would be 22,000 visits.
The reining in of the DIY projects is also supported by the 'trade' body of Hand Surgery Practitioners who have indicated that, with all the Coronavirus pressures on resources, the last thing they need is to be 'stitching up people who have drilled through hands and fingers, dealing with patients with embedded thorns from gardening, or fallen from ladders and steps' etc.
I can feel another heated debate about whether these activities should/should not go ahead ...
I'm tempted to have a couch potato afternoon [one of 5 a day], but am concerned that the lack of blood circulation may put pressure on my local A&E Dept if I have to make another visit ... Damned if you do, damned if you don't!
Steve {just found a ladder in his work trousers, probably the one he fell off last week]

That's me excused gardening duties for the rest of the day. Guy just been and treated our lawn, didn't think he would but so far he can. Need to stay off for 2-3 hours so I'll recover the mulch, literally just slit the bag open 😲 and siting the recliner under the wind. Only just managed to get my smalls and washing in 😂😂😂.
He rang and said he was here, I grabbed my washing and moved gardening bits off the grass and unlocked the side gate. Shut ourselves inside.
Glad it's done as I bought some grass seed so something else to occupy my time.
Saw a funny on fb but unable to put it on here as it is still type it
Thoughts and prayers going out to all married men who've spent months telling their wives
I'll do that when I have time
Made me laugh.
Another of BoJo head in hands saying
I can't trust you lot. You give me no choice. You're all ******* grounded until further notice.
Never uttered those words myself, well not without regretting within minutes 😂

Window cleaners came this morning, no contact as we pay by BAC’s
Bit surprised when I read this. We have a visit every couple of weeks in Summer from someone who cuts the lawns and keeps it tidy. MiL insisted as gardens got in a bit of a state when we went on travels for 6-8 weeks (remember them?). Anyway he rang today as he was due to call on us and told us that he had had a telephone call from someone in Government, presumably Welsh one, telling him that he wasn't to do his job as it is not essential. He needs th emoney so can't see that it's a wind up. They had official stats for him.
That's why I was a bit surprised as I'm sure they'll think window cleaning to fall into the same non essential category.
So guess what I've been doing then? Go on, guess...
I've also unpacked the car that I packed yesterday with rubbish to go to the tip. Keeping me fit. I may repack it tomorrow.
Stay safe everyone.
