What are you all up to

We have had another lovely day up here in Dales, lots of sunshine, a couple of showers. We avoided other humans successfully again today, this time Jeep Tours headed off to the Forest of Bowland, yep, Lancashire😱Gorgeous scenery, fantastic roads for Jeep. Saw all kinds of birds, some deer, and stopped off at Sawrey Abbey, so ticked the history column as well. Nice picnic in the Jeep, pooch had a couple of nice strolls. Cottage all tidied now, most things packed in car ready for off in morning. As self isolating goes, our little unit of 4 plus a canine has done ok this week, and we have had a great time. CL is busy, folks are out.
Back home tomorrow, will need to formulate some plans for keeping Mum safe. If I had a £1 for every time I have heard the phrase “what virus?” I would be very rich now. 😁
Can’t remember how many bog rolls we have in stock at home......🤔

Glad you've had a good break Ttda.
We were ahead of the game on the stocking up but unintentionally. We did a big bulky item shop for MiL as we were due to be away for 6 weeks so toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, water, washing powder etc. are stored around the house. She did offer to sell us some.
Freezer also stocked but regretfully just for her.
We'll have to make our own. Sometimes life lands butter side down!
Decided to get our own back and disappear.

Sounds like you’ve had a good break TDA 👍
All being well, we’re away to Broadway CC site next week, our first break this year. As France is off, I’m going to need to look at alternatives over here. The silver lining is that there’s plenty of choice 🙂

Hope the doc's report was reassuring and of no great concern, OP.
Fingers crossed for a safe return, TG. Bring the sun back with you please.
We've had a couple of texts from our doctors, the first suspending online bookings and the second asking us not to attend the surgery if we have any symptoms of the virus but to phone for advice if symptomatic.

😁 Love it WN. I think we will get away for a few days, but don’t want to leave Mum just to Sis, so needs to be a few days. We do all the care, which is probably easier in terms of keeping her safe, but hard work on us.
I don’t mind not getting away to be honest, love my garden and there’s plenty there to keep me occupied and exercised to a degree. OH has his man cave full of bikes up in attic, he will still get 100 miles a week in going nowhere if needs be! I have 1001 projects to keep me busy.😁

Best wishes from me as well OP. Sorry if I have missed anyone else not very well. I have a shed load of emails and WhatsApp messages to catch up with!
Had a terrific fun moment while out this afternoon.....pooch went “cracker dog”, that thing they do every once in a while when their brain sort of overloads and only scaling around madly seems to fix things.😂 It’s something our lad finds very difficult nowadays, due to his leg issues, but such fun seeing him do it today. He’ll pay tomorrow though I think, but back into his comfy basket tomorrow night. We are thinking of trying water treadmill therapy for him again, see if it helps.

I expect the majority of Waitrose customers only go to Alde out of curiosity but when they see they don't have a fresh meat counter or a fresh fish counter or even a deli and only a modest selection of wine they soon go back

Thanks all for the good wishes, doctors not too bad, just another growing older type issue. Surprisingly, apart from a sign on the door there were no other precautions regarding the virus.
Had a few very sunny days here with variable winds which has meant getting some walks in.
Hope all those that have had to cancel trips over there get sorted and enjoy some time elsewhere. We are still planning our trip to Lincolnshire early next month. Normally by now we would have made 3 trips but for one thing and another the April trip will be our firstEnjoy your weekend all

Glad to hear that it's nothing over serious, OP. Age does seem to catch up with most of us these days. Hope that you're able to get away in April.
We had another dry day after rain in the night. Went over to Wakerley Forest for a walk. Intended heading over to Fineshades but as there were a few young bullocks in a field we had to cross, and they were showing a particular interest in Flyte, we backtracked and chose another route, which turned out to be one of the muddiest we've ever trod. Fortunately we were wearing our wellies so just ploughed on through. Legs are rather tired now following all the effort. We did spot a car and caravan heading up to the site at 11:30 😮

Just heard that next weekends Guide Coffee Morning is to be cancelled, thankfully.
Apparently the local council have told schools to cancel all trips, parents evenings and other social and fundraising events for the foreseeable future, so the Guide parents committee have decided to follow their lead.
We have been down at DD's all day as it was Callum's birthday, We picked him up at lunch time (DD had a half day) and all went to the park with a picnic lunch. It was sunny to start with, but soon dulled down and got very cold, so it was not a long picnic! However Callum had a great time on the play equipment, especially the trampoline.
Later he opened his presents, then his other grandparents arrived with even more presents, and we all had dinner, with cake. His second cake of the day. Tomorrow he has another party, for friends and relatives, so that will be cake number 3.

I'll concentrate on growing old successfully, then
nd then I'll look for lessons in a] knitting my own pasta; and b] crocheting reusable toilet roll [need to buy plastic clothes pegs first ...].
Then, bearing in mind the changed Coronavirus treatment in Italy {today's Guardian] I'll cancel my application for an Italian Passport ...

Back home after four nights at Wyatts Covert. Bit like the Marie Celeste there with about 35% pitch occupancy but few people around. Managed a couple of squelchy walks along the Grand Union canal. Looks like I'll be self-isolating for a bit now as the water pump packed up on day 3 so I'll be occupied trying to find out what's wrong. Hotplate seems to have given up the ghost as well but is less critical to the life support systems.

Late nite text from friends in Fuengirola or some such saying 'dont worry, all is well ' so slept well and unconcerned. Woke up early to attend to 'Homers' and saw that all is not well in Spain by any stretch of imagination. Not sure if I should be wishing them a swift and safe return to U.K. or perhaps offer Best wishes for a longer & pleasant stay in Spain.
( Does not take too much to confuse Brian, I can assure you !! )
The pigeon owners both managed to clock up another Park Run but in York today. That could be the last organised run they get for a couple of months or more.
Do have thoughts that perhaps not being a traveller nor even a runner could be a very good thing for my health.
And on that point may I for starters wish you all a safe, healthy couple of months wherever you may roam.
Brian

Thought of you and milliehull, amongst others including son's mother in law, when I read about it.
Walked into town woman in the high street offering promotion with Jet2To holidays apparently for 2021 - just released. Didn't seem to be drumming up much trade 😲. Spoke to her out of curiously.
Town marginally busier than a week day and that's not hard lately.
Felt I had to share the photo which a friend commented on on fb. Made me laugh.

We went to collect one of OH meds, why do they never all run out together ??.
My tactics are simple B2, I assume all months are of 26 ( Yes 26 ) days length. So I'm slooowly gaining on the system, even faster when Early Month Ends come along, like Christmas / New Year etc so now I'm about 3 weeks ahead of the game
if my meds come in 28 or 56 day packs !! The pen needles caused a problem 'cos they come in boxes of 100 -- not 28 / 56 -- complex mathematics

Stick or Twist eh Tammy? Not that you'll have a lot of input into the decision. Stay safe wherever you end up.
We have had a very relaxing day. The first for ages. Feels weird.
I wish Homo Sapiens had developed a warning sign, like a red light in the middle of their forehead, to warn everyone as soon as they became infected with anything contagious. It would make life a lot simpler.

Things going 'awol' at this early stage of your motor home C.Y ?? Should do you longer than that surely !!

Yes, not a particularly happy bunny. It was 16 months old when we bought it. Since then, Water heater repair, replacement damp floor, both under warranty. Failed airbag ECU. Now these two latest gremlins on a vehicle that's not quite four years old.
With the drop in the bank rate and, no doubt, shortly to follow reduction in savings rates, going for my dream Carthago i 38 is starting to look like quite a good idea so long as the corona virus doesn't get this "high risk" old codger.

We are home from Tenerife! We arrived last night (by the skin of our teeth by the sound of it). We stayed overnight at the Premier Inn near East Midlands airport as OH not keen on the long drive home in the dark late at night. Thanks for thinking of us Bakers2. I hope Tammygirl gets home without too much stress and also your son's MIL. This will all have such a big impact on travel companies, airlines, hotels, bars, restaurants and everyone in the tourist industry. I am sorry some of you have had to change or cancel your holiday plans. Stay safe and well everyone. Must now get on with all the post holiday jobs 🥺.
PS Bakers2 I saw that post on fb. Very funny!!

we could be in worst places but I would like to get home as planned.
Been told that as of Monday big restrictions are to be in place. No going out unless for food or something essential. Restaurants to close, can't see that happening folk have to eat.
There are meetings going on throughout the islands and with mainland Spain. The islanders do not want the restrictions imposed on them that are about to happen on the mainland they only have a few cases so feel its not required. All their income comes from tourism so can understand how they feel. Can't say I'm hopeful, just hope they allow flights to come and get us.
I like the idea of red light

Glad to see that you got home ok, millie. Hope that TG and all others that are away manage to return without too many problems.
