KJ would white tiles go where the baths are at least they match with any colour just a thought.

We replaced our shower cabinet last year with a bigger one as we have plastic panels on the walls put in by the previous owner who built the property so we have stuck with them as tiles would have been expensive as a fairly big bathroom have done the basin and toilet replacement in the last two years OH and friend did them and we will be finishing off their bathroom when they come back home after visit to UK plus they have decided like you to replace a bath with a small shower cabinet as their baths are an odd shape wider one end and very narrow at the other with a shower over the top like yours.

So hope everything goes ok and expect you are looking forward to your caravan break.

When we replaced the gas hob which not 2 years old with an induction OH did all the work himself and luckily we sold the gas hob last week and the young man very pleased with it.

Just had a hailstorm here thankfully small hail and soon disappeared but the weather looking to improve later this week and getting warmer, looking forward to getting some gardening jobs done and planning for the new season.

Set up at Wyatts Covert in time for lunch, M25 notwithstanding. Pitches about 50% full but no sign of life apart from wardens. Unless they are all seasonal everyone must be self-isolating inside their vans. Better stock up on toilet rolls, hand gel and face masks. Seen a pair of red kites and long tailed tits so far apart from the usual suspects ( crows and pigeons).

Yes, we are thinking whether we could get some plain tiles that would fit in with what we have, which is a sort of peach/cream/beige colouring, or alternatively use the wet wall panels in maybe cream.

Do you find them OK, no problems at the joins?

Watts Covert is very popular with workers  , they tend to use that and Commons Wood on 21 nights at each wink

And the neighbours next door tend to (or did)favour large Ford comercial vehiclessurprised

KJ our shower is a complete unit with four glass side as we were not sure of the panels as you say the joints but there are panels that are suitable for showers to be fitted against, perhaps as you say some lighter tiles even some larger ones where the bath was fitted for a contrast.

Agree with JVB66 re Wyatts covert and workers so possibly early departures and later arrivals back to site, no seasonals as only 50 pitches, enjoy your break CY.

Think if it was us we'd go for the wet wall panels, tiles of a different colour/type don't always work.

Our bathroom is tiled floor and walls, OH did the whole fitting of the bathroom, taking out the bath and fitting a corner shower cubicle also underfloor heating. Still love it now 12 years on but when the time comes for a change it will be wet wall.

Nice and sunny today, very hot with no breeze to start with but by late morning the breeze returnedsmile been a lazy day so far sat on the terrace and by the pool. Going shopping shortly now its cooled down a bit.

Went up to the big market at Teguise yesterday, didn't buy anything but nice to wander around, not as busy as previous years. Took a drive over to the north west coast after the market, very windy with big rollers coming in, looked great from the car but nearly took you off your feet when you got out.

Reading the bathroom comments with interest as OH would like to take the bath out and just have a shower. Our bath has mostly been useful for visiting grandsons when young, we only use the shower. Can't quite bring myself to part with a bath but think I'm coming round to the idea. The bathroom needs an overhaul, when it went in a "workman" friend managed to slightly chip everything!! (Not obvious to the eye as it is all white but it's always annoyed me.)

We had some collection jobs today, a printer in Wincanton, pet food in Yeovil then a pub lunch over the border in Wilts. Got back home quite late.

I think our bathroom is my favourite room in the house - in that it's exactly as I planned it.

When we moved into this farmhouse in 1996 after my father in law died, there was a lot of work to do. The bathroom had two baths (one a large cast iron one) and a smaller "normal" one. Plus the floor was rotten.

So we completely redid it. (Part workmen, part us).

New oak floor. Shower cubicle in place of the "newer" bath. New basin and toilet. And renovated the old bath, and turned it at a 90 degree angle into the room. I love it. It's long enough for me to lie down flat. Plus we have a Lloyd Loom armchair for my husband to sit in while I lounge, drinking gin and listening to music (the sound system goes round the house). The only tiles are above the basin and in the shower.

Back to very soggy  and slippery walk with Rosa this morning,,water still dripping off the trees in the woods

Just had a message from some friends at Northbrook farm site ,as they are getting ready to open,

Saying that many sites with grass pitches ,are going to be in real trouble as of now because of the conditions

They have,  and think others who have seasonal pitches will not be able to accept any at the moment

Joins would be a concern for us. I’m sure they CAN be fine!!!  Personally, I don’t like the look of wet wall boards, it always reminds me of chip shops and industrial premises.

Yes, that is the problem with tiles, I don't think it would ever look right with 2 different tiles.

Some  friends have done their shower area with the wet wall, white sparkles, taking out the bath and dividing the space into a shower and a cupboard to house washing machine and tumble dryer, thus being able to live on one level if necessary as they have the kitchen, living rooms and a bedroom also on that level.  They also have 2 bedrooms and a bathroom in the roof space and a part basement with another bathroom, studio, study and storage, so lots of stairs.

They do have some tiles above the basin, but these are plain white, so it looks fine.  They are pleased with the wet wall and find it easy to keep clean, and no leaks, but they have only had it 3 or 4 years.

It is a difficult decision, so we have been putting it off.

We used a product called Altro in our bathroom, took 3.5hours to install.  You don’t need to remove old tiles.  Easy to keep clean, using a former you can bend around corners etc..  wouldn’t use anything else.

We looked at boards when did a new en suite just over a year ago, then decided to go for big tiles! Looks good and we haven't tiled everywhere, I like to see some wall space too.

Not at all surprised on sites that are on clay soils, but those with a sandy base should be ok. We've been on grass on a couple of sites this trip without any trouble, and even here in Huntingdon we could have used a grass pitch had we wanted to.

Drove to Portsmouth ferry terminal this morning and changed our ferry trip, due to go out tomorrow, until September thanks to some very helpful staff at Brittany Ferries.

Went for a walk this afternoon from the CL down to the Solent and back. Blew the cobwebs away.

Enjoyed our day yesterday with brother and SiL. Don't get to see them very often so nice to spend 5/6 hours with them.

Carefree Nurseries in Fareham. Nice quiet well run CL but approach road needs care due to potholes. Good for ferries as only 20 minute run to terminal.

We are going to go down to the van in Cornwall for a few days. The park has just reopened so it'll be a good chance to get everything set up for later in the year (hopefully!).

A first romp on the beach for Ralph too - wish us luck! surprised

It's been a trying day today, planned update for payroll to be ready for year end wouldn't download,  error code so long wait on the phone for assistance. It seems to happen most years! Eventually all sorted and now should be ready.

Shopping spree for OH,  new fleece and jeans.

We are almost ready for a few days in Somerset, we haven't visited the area for a long time will be nice to go back.

Raining here this morning (Cottage) so leisurely breakfast, picnic packed and then a drive over Moors via Ribblehead Viaduct to Hawes. Absolutely slinging it down in Hawes, so we just did Museum, had a nice coffee in cafe, then return drive home after giving pooch a leg stretch. Lots and lots of water about, fields not far out of Gargrave are just one vast lake. Some spectacular waterfalls coming off Ingleborough and other places. Co op in Gargrave had toilet rolls in stock.....we resisted panic buying.😁

I remember a good few years ago, we stayed at Hawes, CC site, and very nice it was too. Quite a nice village, and can recall having half a pint of ‘Old Peculiar’ at the pub there one dinner time whilst sat outside watching the world go by...very pleasant 🙂

Thanks Helen. We transferred the outward bound from Bilbao in Spain to St.Malo in France as the ferry didn't have space for us to Spain. It would appear that they've had a lot of rebooking. Suits us anyway.

Where in Somerset are you off to? Been before? Enjoy it wherever it is.

We're heading home to dump the sunnier stuff before picking up the warmer items and heading off somewhere undecided at the moment. Probably be next week now.

Ttda, hope you've packed enough jigsaws. Drove to Christchurch yesterday. Fields at the top of the New Forest near the turn off for Bournemouth A338 were overflowing. So floods happening here. Brother did say Christchurch council not allowing them to build on the floodplain near the town. Went onto the heath and looked down on the River Avon. Can see why they are called floodplains. A lot of water.

Enjoy the rest of the week.
