Phew! It's been a hot day here today 30c, to hot to sit on the patio or by the pool so we took off in the car to Playa Blanca and the Ribicon marina. It's usually a bit cooler there and today was market day. Place very busy but we found a parking place without to much trouble, it was a bit cooler
OH decided on the scenic route on the way back calling in at some of the little coastal bays, nice chill out couple of hours.
Tomorrow is moving day to our other apartment where we will stay for the next 2 weeks. Won't have to move first thing as they have to prepare it first, thankfully we get to stay in this apartment until the other one is done. Doesn't take long to do and this will be the last time we do it as we have swapped for next year.
Everything going ok here no cases yet (fingers crossed) on the island, hoping we are allowed back home again and then back out again 3 weeks later. Don't go buying all the food stocks
We have a few Italians in the resort, seem to keep to themselves not seen them in the bar, restaurant or pool.
Take care everyone.

Oh my poor Tammy.
Having to cope with some hot sunshine. You unfortunate waif.
Ay, away with ya lass.๐
We seem to be running around in circles. Bits done here, others unravelling in front of us. I'm sure things will turn out alright (maybe).
Had a phone call today from a nice manager at RHS Harlow Carr enquiring after MiL after her fall there last week. Nice thoughtful touch.

Sounds like a good route, Kjell. Some nice sites to stop on and plenty to see too. Hope that the weather stays fine for the trip and you don't encounter too many of the 500ers!!

Good customer service there, WM.
Sounds idyllic out there, TG. Please send some of that sunshine and warm temperatures back to Blighty would you. Hope they've goes without a hitch tomorrow.
We moved up to Huntingdon today, and decided to extend our stay to 7 nights. Will be heading over to one of Millie's haunts one of the days, Houghton Mill. We managed a,dry walk after lunch and just got back to the van before it stated to rain, which has continued ever since.๐

Very warm here as well TG..Hotter then we ever remember at this time of year before. Had to find the shade by the pool. Our neighbours sat out on their balcony in full sun all afternoon ๐ฑ
Give our love to Houghton Mill nellie. Hopefully we will get there sometime soon. Our van is booked in for service after we get back and then we shall start making plans.

Now that all the kitchen stuff has been moved out of the spare bedroom I started to empty the motorhome as its due its first service towards the end of next week. Usually put all the stuff in the conservatory but that is being replaced next week. Talk about gluttons for punishment but my idea was to get all the work done at the start of the year to leave the rest of the year free for motorhoming! Then Dave King came along with his Corona Virus so we won't know where we are!!! Margaret had her eye test this afternoon, no changes so no new glasses, that saved her nearly ยฃ400. Will I have the same luck next week? The Boots in CMK where we go for our eye tests has a fairly large space on the 1st floor for their opticians department. Trouble is they seem to have removed a lot of chairs so you are all crammed together! Would have thought a company who has made its money from all things medical would be more alert to the need to spread people around!

What a lovely gesture WN. So very kind and thoughtful.

It has been a very busy week in our road as it seems , all the fences that were damaged in the storms, are l being repaired/replaced road by road , they are working on next doors today, which is a relief to us , as when the fence came down it really compromised our security, which has stopped us going away ,
nearly done next door! where shall we book ,off to booking page now
Then walk Rosa although it is proper dog walking weather (it is raining) before having lunch

What a Pfaff this morning. New printer arrived last night so set up this morning, WiFi wouldn't work so talked to HP help desk, all going well till they told me they needed ยฃ99.50 to reinstall drivers๐ฒ swiftly said goodbye, plugged in old USB cable and all working fine.๐ฅ๐จ Outrageous really as I have an HP computer and printer.
Anyway a happier afternoon ahead as going to celebrate my birthday with the grandtwins๐บ๐

Many happy returns Oneputt. Enjoy your day.
We're HP having a laugh? My tablet can't find our printer ๐ญ๐ค with or without a lead!
For a change its persistently raining here. Popped into town to get meat for freezer town very quiet. About to roast some veg, there's always loads once you gather it together, still freezes nicely.
Did manage to take top off the grass on Monday before it got any longer and was marginally dry ๐. Did use burn-wand on block paving Tuesday. Felt better for being outside but far to wet to go near the beds or on the grass ๐ stepping stones are underwater again. Never known us to have has so much rain and wet - Beth Chatto promoted dry gardens for us here years ago........
Friend in Scotland, East Ayrshire says lovely day no breeze and bright had to undo her coat whilst out walking! Not cold here but DAMP.
Off to visit son DIL and grand dog Saturday, overnight with them. Not seen them since Christmas so hope to have a good catch up but if it's dry ๐๐ she'll be drilling as not all in yet and he's playing in a golf tournament Sunday morning, as a sub for someone who's away and opposition won't change. So who knows? Change of scenery will be nice and the dog will be delighted to see us ๐๐

No rain so far today!
So muck spreading and sorting out some fencing for new hedges we are planting.
(Neither of these done my be personally - I'm an indoor farmer.)
I'm preparing spreadsheets and reports to show what and when we do something on our Countryside Stewardship land.
And feeding the workers etc. Today a recipe from the cook book that came with out first cooker 50 years ago. I can tell which recipes I use as most are stained with the ingredients.

I was thinking the other day when we were have a clearout of the instruction booklets which came with our old appliances. When I was in the electrical trade cookers and microwaves used to come with some lovely cookbooks all lovingly created by the company home economists. These days you are lucky to get a set on instructions on how to work the thing let along tell you what to cook in it. I imagine that Aga might still be an exception?

I don't recall have any issues setting up my HP printer on WiFi. You can download a little program from HP which allows you to analyse elements of the printers performance, including drivers. My HP Envoy Photo even has its own email address so if you want to print something from your phone or tablet you can email it to the printer and it will print it off for you.

I still have the original recipe book for our Aga (and instructions and 10 year guarantee). It's a bit tatty, but cooking with an Aga is more or less "know your Aga, and it's own peculiarities".
Ours has off days, when I threaten it and mention things like "not irreplaceable, electric range etc", but it's as old as me and just a year younger than my husband, so I've no complaints.

Happy Birthday Oneputt, ๐๐ hope you have had a lovely day.
Millie and TG glad you are enjoying the sunshine, just wish we had some here. ๐
Nellie good to read trip going well, we really enjoyed visiting Wimpole Hall.
Heard from son this morning, as it was World Book Day, the staff at the school his girlfriend works at in Manchester were all dressing up as characters from books. Her art department went as the characters from The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe (lovely book) Sadly the children had never heard of Narnia
and thought his girlfriend who went as the Ice Queen was Elsa from frozen.
I suppose it's a sign of the times, but I thought it rather sad.
Not been up to much, had to renew both the caravan and the home insurance this week, ouch!

Happy another year Oneputt. I'll use the rest of the Broadside that is sitting beside me to toast your good health and wish you a health scare free year (at least).
What are you lot complaining about. It's been a beautiful Spring like day today. Sunshine all day with a little nip in the air to remind you it's still early March.
We're getting there. Yippee.

Well speak for yourself and don't consider others ๐ฑ๐ฑ๐ฑ still persistently raining here!
Still I spent the afternoon in the kitchen freezer now has been replenished with roasted veg and homemade soup. All takes a time ๐ but fantastic when you can pull a homemade meal together from it with any more effort than defrosting it ๐. I admire Goldie feeding the farmers, at or around noon, with wholesome fayre it ain't my favourite task! I was told by our headmaster in primary school we wouldn't need to cook we'd just have meal pills. Do I feel cheated? You bet.
Delighted to read you're making progress. Keep up the good work and have a safe trip.
To all those away in the sun please pack it in your suitcases on your return. Enjoy yourselves ๐

Just read a very good description of today's weather by a local fisherman on fb
"Wetter than an otters pocket"
Sums our weather up very succintly still persistently raining, but at least we are lucky with no fear of flooding unlike some poor folk in other areas.

Wherenext we don't do rain - generally one of the driest areas in the country. Never understood the need for more than a mac and a brolly until we toured some parts in our motorhome. Now possess waterproof trousers and jackets and have been very glad of them these past months!
However despite it being dry we do have lots of grey days. Our son remarked on this when he moved just south of Peterborough much brighter skies. Flatter landscape ๐?

Here in the usually wet west of Scotland, it has indeed been a lovely sunny day, still rather chilly though. We have quite a bit of sun recently, but there have been showers as well most days.
For World Book Day, all the children at Callum's nursery had to dress up as their favourite book character. Callum went as Spot the dog, his Mum made a great costume with bright yellow joggers and hoodie, with a padded tail attached, large brown spots in the right places, padded yellow ears, and a big black pom-pom nose. He insisted on keeping it on all day.
Bone density scan went fine, results to follow. I was the only person there, even the car park was almost empty, quite why there would be a 4 month waiting time is beyond me. I arrived early, to allow time to park, and was taken in immediately, so was in and out before my appointment time.
DD's utility room is nearing completion, tiling done, just to be cleaned up, a couple of doors need to be shortened as the floor level is different.
Now making the matching shelves and towel roll holder.

Nice to hear from you Bakers2. So sorry to hear about all your rain though. Surely it must stop soon. It has been going on since September! After a beautiful sunny week at Sandringham at the end of September it started to rain on our journey home and doesnt seem to have stopped since. I hope you both have a good few days with your son, DIL and grand-dog.
Another lovely day here with a bit of a welcome breeze. I have to say that it is much quieter here than normal. Both Thomas Cook's demise and this virus are having an effect. I feel so sorry for the hoteliers, bars, restaurants etc.
Happy birthday OP. Hope you had a good time with the grand twins.

Grossly over-slept this morning, due to continually being woken by myself laughing !!
Back in December we were talking of woolly hats in three colours for babies to shew the state of their health. Well yesterday evening I saw the little paragraph on BBC Cambridge local news where a paediatric nurse had asked if it would be possible to knit tiny sleeve-like things to help hold cannulas in place on tiny premature babies arms.
Well she'd got the definitive answer - this week alone they received a small number to start with !! In fact Forty Eight { 48 } sacks full have arrived, each containing approximately 1000 little "sleeves"
The nurse is now trying to arrange for them to be spread out amongst other hospitals
.
Hope it's put a smile on CT for a few folks even if I'm still giggling away merrily
Sorry I missed your Birthday Oneputt, so have an extra piece of cake or ice cream while the little un's have their backs turned

As I was saying - until prematurely cut off by being closed for maintenance!!!
Yesterday we did our usual Waitrose shop. Rather surprised how busy it was, usually gauged by how far I have to park from the entrance. Surprising to find staff having difficulty keeping shelves full. Why are people stocking up with toilet rolls, I thought this new virus gave you a problem with your breathing not your b..? Running up to the kitchen refit we ran our freezers down as both were being replaced so we thought that in the sprite of covering all bases we should stock up just in case of self isolating!! Chatting to one of the staff members we see regularly when shopping she was telling us the the number of lines to be picked for home delivery has doubled since last week!
