I was with Plusnet a few years ago and despite being owned by BT were offering better deals than BT, so I switched to them.  All was fine for a couple of years or so - then I had a problem.  Their customer service, in trying to get it sorted out was abysmal.  Ages hanging onto the phone before anyone answered and when they did, the merry-go-round of being passed to different 'teams' started with the inevitable consequence of having to explain the problem from the beginning each time.

Having previously had excellent service from EE on our mobiles, I switched everything over to them and I haven't been disappointed with their customer service so far (and I have tested it!).  The BB speed isn't the fastest - only just above their guaranteed minimum for fibre, but I suspect that's more to do with how far away we are from the exchange / junction box.

Never heard of companies not accepting gmail brue.

We started back in about 2003 with Tiscali, then they were bought over by someone and went expensive, so we switched and at that point got gmail.  Must be at least 10 years we have been using it without problems.

We've found more problems with companies accepting a btinternet address rather than a gmail and as for yahoo, don't bother is my advice.

Had an easy drive back over the Pennines and we stopped for lunch about half an hour from home so need to do any shopping today. First lot of washing done, another lot in. I'm trying to keep moving just in case.

Just added MiL onto our bank insurance for hers and Mrs WNs holiday in July. Insurance needed to be sorted out before we come back from our trip so we decided to do it today. 9 days in Europe for an 87 year old? £20.smile One of the benefits of the bank's insurance arm.

Best wishes Oneputt. Hope the tests go well.

Thanks everyone for the Gmail info, I think I got it wrong and their was some data sharing previously. Anyway we use it as and when.

My best wishes to Oneputt too. 🐤

I expect you're glad to be home WN and get things sorted but your holiday sounded good. smile

I wonder how Moulesy is getting on?! Will look out for news in the pets section, our pets are snoozing just now so I've got a few minutes to spare. wink

We changed from BT to Sky phone enytime calls and internet last year,  via an advert in Saga magazine for 18months at £19 per month,  keeping a close watch on what they do in July when it is up for renewal wink

Hope that your tests come out favourably, OP.

Good to hear that you had an easy drive home, WM. Time now to get ready for your next trip in the van I guess.

We had heavy rain overnight so lots,of surface water this morning, and all the footpaths are muddy and slippery. Managed your first walk without getting too wet as the wind had dropped. Then we had a couple more walks once the rain had stopped around, the local lanes. Better weather forecast for the next few days so we'll get out to a few of the local historic properties that are open at this time of year, and hopefully a decent walk somewhere, although it will probably mean weather our wellies.

We moved from BT to Plusnet a few years ago, this year we renegotiated our contract. OH did a good job on that, we get superfast bb and line rental +free calls for £29 a month, mobile is through 3, £13 a month 2gb data,  due for contract renewal on return from this holiday.

We don't have any tv packages as freeview is great in our area and has all the great programmes we need lol.

Weather great again, was a bit more active today and went for a walk. Popped down to watch the carnival parade earlier, now back in the apartment to noisey for us in town tonight. Off to the big market tomorrow.

Strange weather, sun, warm enough to sit outside for a few minutes, then rain and snow. Noticed the sun is creeping round in the west so that's good. I ordered a Mirabelle Plum tree today, there is a gap in our fruit tree planting and I hope this new tree will survive winds and disease. There are parts of our garden where things just keel over, not anything obvious.

Daughter and partner back from "wurzels" evening singing the songs to us, they said everyone enjoyed it! Visiting dog is now back home...peace reigns, just about. wink

Sounds like you're pleased to be on your holiday TG. Hope Millie gets away safely too.

A day of catching up and starting to plan for our trip away.

Mrs WN and MiL disappeared to Tescos to do a 6 week shop of all heavy or bulky items so all storage space now at a premium. We also had to do a food shop and I got in a few things to make for the freezer for MiL so I spent the afternoon cooking. Freezer now full.

Will be trying to get an urgent Dental appointment tomorrow for Mrs WN as a filling fell out on Friday.

Found out that, with it being Leap Year day yesterday, our niece popped the question to her other half, over a pre booked meal in a fancy restaurant. She went down on bended knee, opened a box containing a ring and asked if she could make an honest man of him. To be fair to him he did say the last bit might be a bit late but is willing to give it a go.smile I asked my brother if the big day had been set yet. He said not to worry as we'll probably be touring somewhere when it does so they won't be counting on us being there.smile He knows us all too well.

Work tomorrow and Tuesday then off to Kiln Hill Barn cl on Wednesday. Originally intended a winter ascent of Skiddaw but after being a bit of a couch potato the last couple of months I'm now thinking a browse around Keswick is looking like a good alternative 😂

Hopefully the weather allows some fell walking at some point but if not there's The Sun Inn down the road.....

    Sad but true!! 😂

Yes we were there about 5 years ago but I think it's under new owners now. I seem to remember the access through farm buildings was a bit tricky but worth it for the stunning views from the site.

Down in Cornwall for a few days in the caravan.  The journey yesterday brought so much different weather and overnight it was rainy and blustery.  Today the sun has come out, but still a little breeze.  Fingers crossed that the rain will keep away.  I'm quite fed up of the rain.

Is that the Sunday market at Teguise, TG? I remember going there last time we were in Lanzarote - some great food and drink stalls and the most amazing busker I've ever heard playing loads of Neil Young songs; I guess he's moved on since then though. smile

Took the MiL into town this morning so that they could realign her glasses after her fall last week. A bit easier than realigning her head but not as much fun.smile

A day of "Will be in tomorrow". Dental appointment for Mrs.WN. Tomorrow, Prescriptions that we dropped off requests for over a week ago now? Can't find them, can you come back tomorrow?, 12v extension cable for tyre pump? Delivery tomorrow, Fat balls for the birds? You guessed it. This is how you easily lose a day without achieving much.

However we have managed to start getting the caravan and car into shape for the weekend.Trouble is I'm not happy with some things in the boot so will need a repack. When can I do it. Yep, tomorrow!smile

Hope you enjoy a visit there Freddy, they are good all year round gardens with a nice walk down to a beach on the Helford river (with D Day connections.) Little cafe on the beach in the main season and a vg larger one at the top of the site, plant sales etc. Dogs welcome, NT Glendurgan gardens are next door but no dogs (thinking of DSB here!)

WN sorry there were no traffic lights to tick off, I still can't resize with my new phone but CT will accept a photo collage! wink

Hope you've all had a good day and maybe some better weather?

    Thanks for the info 👍

Just thought I’d mention...if anyone is in the vicinity of Kingswear (Devon), I can thoroughly recommend a visit to Coleton Fishacre (NT). I’ll be visiting again at some point as we weren’t able to spare much time when we went.

Arrived home at lunchtime from a lovely relaxing weekend near Ashbourne,  weather threw everything at us including snow but we still got out and about. Stayed at a new to us CL "Slack Lane" which turned out to be an excellent choice, even after all the rain we've had we were with careful pitching and the fact that we were the only ones staying to pitch on the grass, also very quiet which was just what we needed. smile
