    Thanks.

See my edit to my earlier post re now being taken to the last page of a discussion .

Ah yes, so when viewing a discussion, you'll notice that the URL is typically appended with #latest.

The #latest at the end of the URL refers to the "latest" or "most recent" page of the discussion for the person who is clicking on it.

     For example:

    • If person A has read everything, they'll land on the last page of comments
    • If person B has read up to page 3, they'll be taken there
    • If person C hasn't viewed the discussion, they'll be taken to the beginning of the thread

Hopefully this should make it easier to navigate as you go. 😀

Indeed, it makes navigation much better. It was pretty awful when I first tried it.

Next question, please. I see there is a PM facility but as far as I can tell, there is only an In Box and no way of sending a message. Is it me?

I don’t think Private Messages are enabled yet Tinny, for anyone. It wasn’t part of the trial either. Would be very handy though.

Cheers. In that case it’s a bit misleading to have the icon in place.

That's right we don't have this feature available at the moment. The Inbox shown on your profile is for Club staff to make contact with you if we ever need to.

Very quick look around seems a massive improvement.

Thankyou. It’s one of a number of things that could benefit from an explanation. No doubt we'll get there one day. 👍🏻

I have had to change my password to a 12 digit now,it took me at least half a dozen attempts before I realised the previous new passwords were too short.

I have yet to try the original password ,to see if I can enter the normal site.

I have been having a look round and so far I like it. There was a bit of an issue with passwords on my iPad. The new one for the forum overwrote the booking site password on the keychain, therefore that also required resetting as it no longer worked. It seems to work much, much more quickly than the old CT and I really like the ease of selecting photos. Yes the new format will take a bit of getting used and I am sure there will be a few glitches, but overall it seems a positive step forward.

Love the fact I can now select categories to follow and eliminate those that I have no interest in whatsoever from the recent activity. A great facility. From poking around it is looking good.

I am still very much reserving judgement. I find the screen very cluttered, on an iPad mainly, and the print small. Having apparently lost new reviews unless looking at individual sites is also a down side. I haven’t tried the search facility yet because that was just dreadful on the old version.

@Hja if you are using an iPad, you can simply pinch and expand the print to any size you want?

yes but then I have to move the post around to read it. With the previous version, once they sorted that print size blip, I didn’t need to do anything.

If you touch on the rectangle with two lines under it, located at the left hand end of the browser bar (first photo) it brings up 100% which rapidly changes to a small and large A (second photo). By touching on the large A you can increase the size of the text. You just get less posts to the page. You may need to refresh the page to activate it.

Typical. Gone from bad to worse! No categories making it easier to navigate your way to a sub forum that may be of interest to you.

Post created by mistake when I tried to edit my above post. Scrolled down too far and touched the post comment red box rather than the save comment

@Surfer if you click on Categories (top of page), all the categories as they used to be are in the named photo boxes. Just click on a box, and voila, they should come up. You can then bookmark each thread that you are really interested in (click on your avatar, click bookmark). No need then to browse all the boxes and threads, all the ones interesting to you are bookmarked. Hope this helps👍

How do you use the system for dropping a URL link from the web and make it shorter like we used to with the old system. For example I've just referenced an article about bike thefts from Road cc website, a cyclists website, in the Cycle Path discussion but the copied URL is long. I wanted to shorten it to something like Bikejacking.

If you type the text and then highlight the text you want a link from, it will bring a formatting table up. The link icon is on the end and if you click on that you can add the link. 😀

Ro, why can't the icon appear before you type the text. This text may be long so I would copy and paste it into the comment box then have to do it all over again in the opened icon box. Am I missing something?

WN, To include a URL click in the order I have indicated in the screen shot and finally click on the safety pin and highlight the text where you want to includ the URL. To save the URL hit return. Think I have that right? Its a bit tricky.

I see Ro has replied. That works much quicker.

    nope!

I get as far as filling in the link box and then it vanishes off the screen😤😤😤

It’ll be full URLs from me in future.

And why won’t this capitalise the first letter of the post?
