One thing that sometimes happens to me: If you have typed a sentance/ post and suddenly decide to tag someone by inserting @name then the tag name list does not come up. The way I get over it is by adding several 'new line spaces' at the place where I want to tag. Then go back and add the tag - it then works. Then carefully remove the extra line spaces so that it reads as normal.
I've just added your names to the top of this post... after having written the paragraph... now I can get rid of the extra line and the tag will remain.... (I won't do it so you can see what I've done.) Hope this makes sense.

Hi @heddlo to update your profile picture you need to:
- Click your avatar on the top right hand side to take you to your profile info.
- Select the person symbol to open the dropdown menu.
- Choose "Edit Profile" and then "Change my picture" on the right-hand side.
- From here, you can upload a new picture, remove the existing one, or adjust your thumbnail by selecting a specific part of the image.
Hope this helps. 😀

Glad you now seem to have it working @Bakers2
Anyone who you tag may get an email to say they have been tagged (mentioned). I put 'may' as it depends on the email preferences each individual has set up. I have it set up that I get an email to say a person has tagged me...... see next post for how to set up email preferences....

.… @Bakers2 + anyone else. To make it so that you get a message when you are tagged:
- Click on your profile picture right at the top of this page. Your profile info opens.
- Click on 'Account & Privacy Settings, just underneath your email address
- Right at the bottom of the page that opens, you get the Badges section. Just above this there is 'Notification Preferences'. Click on it...
- The screen that opens out give lots of options to tick. The one to look for is under Posts.... make sure you tick 'I am mentioned'
You should then get an email to say 'you have been mentioned', everytime someone tags your name.
If you've got that far, it may be a good time to look at the other boxes you can tick to update what you would like to get emails for.
You will notice that for each preference there are two boxes.... one for 'pop-up' and one for email. I've enabled both, but I've not yet received a pop-up. I get all the emails though.
Hope this helps someone.

Well that was a new one on me. Just had a "Network Error" but unlike "Server Error" it rectified itself quickly. So they've improved the Server Error.👍️
Ttda, thanks but I didn't really explain myself clearly. I have bookmarked several threads but wanted to exclude a few sections that I'm not interested in so that they don't appear in what has become the Latest Activity page, that is the first discussion page. The bookmarked ones doesn't stop the discussion page from showing threads I'm not interested in. Probably as clear as mud but best I can do. I'll give TWs system a go as the roads are a bit dicey here today so I'm housebound.

I tried to comment on the Let's See Your Dogs page, but there is no "comment" box for me. It must be something in my settings as other people have managed it. Any ideas.
In fact if I navigate to it via "Your stories" the name of it is in pale grey, rather than black bold.

@Goldie146 : In the groups section, you have to join that particular group before you can post...
Click on the three vertical lines at the top left of this page. Click on Groups. Each group you are not a member of will have a 'Join' box. Click on and then you're in.....
Hope this helps.

Well I've Bookmarked (I assume that's what people mean by "Followed") and then changed All to Followed categories on front page but it said no items "Followed". Do you have to do something different to Follow an item. I'm getting notifications on those followed threads. Is that what you mean? Still confused.

@Wherenext if you go to categories and tap on the one you want, it then opens the available sub-sections. Again tap on the one you want and it opens. Bookmarked and Follow are not the same thing. You follow it by tapping the bell - see pic - and it also gives you the notification options. I unchecked all the notifications as my preference. It works for me apart from Recent Discussions reverting to All whenever it feels like it.🙄

@Tinwheeler Cheers TW. I think I might have an inkling what is happening. I already use the Bell to follow threads as per your suggestion. So far so good. I check them when they appear in the notification bell next to the envelope. So they clear as I read them. I then look in all categories, a sort of LA and then followed, but because I have cleared the followed ones by reading them I assume that is why it states there are none, hence my confusion. Operative error it would appear. Is this a correct synopsis in your opinion?

that sounds reasonable to me @Wherenext but I don’t have much idea what’s going on. I just prod and play until I find something that works😄

@Goldie146 That dog thread is behind a “join” set up. Go into Groups (top row) and it will come up with a list of optional interest groups that you can opt into and out of joining. It’s only when you have opted to join that the comments box will appear. Hope this helps👍

@Bakers2 and @DSB
Thanks both for that. I've been out most of the day, hence my late reaction. I appreciate your help.
But...sorry David, I have tried your method to get you tagged, but every time I type the letter D after the @ I get 2 letters D, so frustrating. I've tried to leave a few line spaces like you suggested, but to no avail. Of course, when it types 2 Ds, it only brings up those with usernames beginning with 2 Ds. Deleting it and starting again doesn't work, because it does the same again. Don't know if it is my tablet although I've read of others having the same problem.

as somebody else said, this really shouldn’t be so difficult☹️😤

@Goldie146 go for it, we need something other than dogs!🤣

David I have the issue on my Samsung phone and tablet. I did @Rowena when I mentioned up thread yesterday or possibly Sunday.
I've tended to leave my double letters to prove a point and they take an age to get rid of. I also got a capital letter on my 1st and 2nd words on a post. Again I left it in and mentioned it, quite likely this thread today.
Rowenas was around a lot of the weekend....

I have a sneaky suspicion this might be device related. I know Nellie is using a Kindle, not sure what others who are having the starting stutter are using though. It’s only a guess mind, my knowledge of anything like this is ……zero. Hence, haven’t got a clue how to help anyone.

@DSB it doesn't always work. With this post I got a double D and was able to cancel the second one, but other times whatever I did just produced a succession of repeated letters. Most strange.

@Takethedogalong I agree with you, it could very well be device related. I'm using Firefox on a Samsung tablet, Android.
The other issue I have is that the emojis only show the left half, see below. That is something I also reported during the trial, so that is something which may also be device related, as I've not read of anyone else having that issue.

So sorry to read you are having these problems @InaD and @nelliethehooker. I'm using Samsung phone and tablet, but I don't use Firefox.... I wonder if that might at least be the problem for Ina. Don't know about Nellie/ Kindle. .... sorry I'm not being much help.

I'm using Samsung Internet on my phone and tablet, both have intermittent @ postings. I don't get emjoi's. Now I'm feeling left out 😪🤣
Maybe @Rowena now that highlighted on other posts in this thread, could be alerted. I know I've tagged her, but theres been no response unlike the weekend when she kindly popped in and out with comments.
