I like your 'glass half full' attitude, Rocky 👍🙂👍

I can still see a link to Trustpilot and the bottom of the Club's main page? Just a shame that the energy expended on a third party site by the Club is not matched by comment here?

Why would they need to give vouchers to all ? I was posting with ref to this clubs (as posted by others)demographic ,I have since read that a member with covid got a voucher as reimbursement after contacting some one? at the club ,there should be a dedicated team or phone number for just that sort of alteration or cancellation because of similar situations

With 235 pages on just this website with the biggest majority having difficulties with the latest booking debacles',that is where apart from a tiny minority this club has lost its credibility as a front runner
I do not think anybody is complaining about this clubs sites yet ?

Fit for purpose depends a lot on the purpose required...
if you want to book a site and you know where and, roughly, when you want to go then it's not too difficult....I've done a few sample bookings as the system has 'evolved' and have got through to the actual booking process.
this in itself might be another hurdle, payment options confusing and perhaps not accurate with defaults that can catch the unwary out..
move along to those customers who are searching in unfamiliar areas of the country and are hoping the system will bring back options they can explore (sites and CLs) and the usefulness falls off a cliff edge.
availability info is much harder to find and drill down data on CLs still resides in an 'old' system and a workaround has to be employed to access it.
certainly not 'there' yet by a long way.
many, many major companies sell products (far more SKUs than the few variables on a pitch type that the club sells) and one can find stock levels, delivery info and prices at a click or two..
even something like Brittany Ferries has a super slick system, selling 'pitches' (places) on a number of 'sites' (ships) on different dates, just like the Club needs to. BF even have the extra component of which route the ship is on.
it's just so easy to browse routes, stock of places/cabins, timings and prices, all without putting in DOB or even passenger names. Only when you move to complete a booking does all this 'stuff' become a requirement.
It's as if the club has never even checked out a decent modern 'holiday' booking system.

I can't find any reference to vouchers in TW's post? And as the member did get a carry forward of his deposit after contacting the club I assume the 'team' already exists.
But this was for Covid reasons (and rightly so at this time) but where does the club draw the line for medical conditions to be eligible?
As said by TW if people sadly have medical conditions that they can't commit to the club's T&C then the club isn't the place to go to.

I agree re your statement on the trust pilot rating and to an extent on the booking system. However, I would modify it to read the system is ( just about) fit for purpose on the devices I use and the manner I use it.
It does not seem fit for purpose on other devices / browsers and certainly isn’t for those that wish to use its functionality, such as the filters. Also perhaps a minor point, but 8 weeks in and still no link to leaving a review and site directions. A work around is required.4 -
I fail to see what band wagon I'm jumping on? Could you explain? Also what points am I scoring?
I replied to your post with a few points of my own, that's all.
.
JVB you posted:
there should be a dedicated team or phone number for just that sort of alteration or cancellation because of similar situations
the should be implies it is not there now, but now you post:
there is a dedicated team? and/or phone number has it Ben advised to members?
I'm confused
JVB - which is it?

It was posted on here recently that perhaps the club could introduce a policy similar to hotels, with a higher price allowing cancellation without penalty. Just received an email from Travelodge. I could book a room at £29.99 and would loose it all if I cancelled, or pay £32.99 and cancel up to noon on the day of arrival without penalty.
Weather has a much greater bearing on take up with our hobby than booking a travel lodge. I would suggest that many would take up the offer of paying £6 extra for their weekend stay and of course could cancel without penalty when the conditions were not to their liking.
For it to work in relation to weekends, which have always been an availability issue, it would have to be substantially higher than a £3 a night premium.

" Lets not forget that its the minority who post here so the views expressed are not representative."
ONS use sampling to provide the census figures. They no longer get every household to fill in a form. Are the statistics used to manage the country "not representative"?
AS for Covid cancellations, AIUI there is ( inexplicably)no requirement to isolate now and a booking could, in theory, therefore be fulfilled.

"ONS use sampling to provide the census figures. They no longer get every household to fill in a form."
I think that is uncorrect . Every household is legally obliged to complete the 10 year census. With penalties if they do not.
Sorry - totally off topic! But I am more interested in Census returns than repetitive arguments on here.

Premier Inn do the same, although at although at usually a more marked difference in price.
Are people making too much of possible loss of deposit? As it's a new thing are they fretting unnecessarily? The old system encouraged people to book on spec whereas now people have to be a bit more certain before making a booking. Such is life it is possible that we could all need to change plans at the last minute which risks losing the deposit but surely the reality is that it would happy rarely unless you were particularly unlucky. If people find themselves in a position where they are regularly losing deposits then maybe they need to consider booking much nearer the time rather than well in advance? I think one thing the Club could do which wouldn't really compromise the new booking system is to relax last minute minor changes. So if I have booked Thursday to Monday but for some reason I need to change that the Friday to Tuesday (assuming space is available) could the Club just make that change without any loss on the side of the member because afterall the Club are still getting the same amount of money from the booking. I think small changes like that would take some of the tension out of the booking system?

Thanks David, the link at the bottom of the page isn't visible on my phone but I can now see it on my Chrome Book but the other link on the "booking experience" section has gone I think?
I don't think removing it is going to make the overall situation better and I agree that responses are absent on the CAMC web site itself but judging by the large list of fixes much still needs to be done!

It doesn’t appear on my Samsung Android phone either.

What a dreadful mess the new app booking system is. Ignores details you already hold, requires information you don’t need. Congratulations for providing such a bad experience. Even better I’ve just checked the booking has gone through. It shows the dates but not the location. What a shower.

It is Friday at a normally busy weekend site? we have been speaking to our new neighbours who have said that they thought it would be busier than it is
And one had still not realised that the booking system had been changed,
Next year will be very "interesting"as to what bookings this club will very possibly be down although apart from mid week discounts going several other financial issues for members will also be a factor, not helped with as other have said ,this club has now reduced its attraction and is now on a par with most other pitch suppliers
And as for the amount of bookings that has been already made? according to the marketing speak the bookings may be pitches only

I think David’s suggestion of the club not charging for minor changes is absolutely correct. I know some will say commercial organisations charge an admin fee for nay change, but this is a club with members. Yes, I know some will say it is simply a commercial organisation, and I have some sympathy with that view. However, constitutionally it is a club and as such there should be some benefit to being a member, and this suggestion would be one.

To those who say it is a commercial organisation how many other commercial organisation are required to pay an annual membership fee? It may now pursue commercial objective ie screw as much money as possible from the paying public, but it is still a members club.

A gym? AA/RAC/Mayday to name a few, but you're not really required to pay with any of them
I see it the CAMC as much like the above, if one wants to avail themselves of their services then one has to pay. Having said that it does still feel like a club to me.

Me too CS
To suggest that it isn't a commercial organisation is naive. There are bills to pay like wages, pensions, site improvements etc etc. You only achieve that via commerce.
The same goes for Gyms, snooker clubs, or your local football club
In the end, call it want you want...club, business, commercial organisation, or whatever. I dare say there will now be loads of posts calling it all sort of other names, but the facts are these;
If you want to stay at Club sites, then joining will make those stays cheaper. If you want to avail yourself of the CL network, then joining will allow you access. If you don't want these, don't join. Its your decision.
You can also get discounts from a number of retailers like Cotswold. Blacks will give you a discount too, as they don't know the difference between CAMC and C&CC. There are those who will say that you'll get these discounts anyway without being a member. If thats the case, fine. Don't join.
If you think that CAMC is out there to screw its members, fine. Don't join.
I'm a member because I like the sites. I like the professionalism of site staff, and I like having access to a range of benefits that I use. If somebody else thinks that these things are worthless, pointless, over rated or a 'rip off', fine. Don't join
