    You’ve taken that line before😤😤😤

What is the booking system on this unknown site - a simple phone call or online? How does it compare to CAMC's booking arrangements?

Well it's open to many interpretations but speaking for only myself and totally hypothetically of course but if I was talking to someone that knew a site that would benefit me financially, a site that is far cheaper and has less harsh T&C that would benefit me with any medical conditions I may have, a site that shows a consideration of the older generation and more customer service orientated than the club's I'd be personally very upset that just because it might stop that person getting a pitch they wouldn't tell me?

My view of that hypothetical person looked on with an uncharitable mind and in an unfavourable light might not be that good.

It can be booked via a site booking system and the owner will reply via an email

That sounds as if the online contact is only an enquiry to book rather than the complete works that CAMC's is.🤷🏻‍♂️

Still it’s academic as without knowing the site we can’t make direct comparisons.

Report on FB chat group that member cancelled booking due to Covid. They phoned and told no refund policy but that they could appeal which they did and their deposit has been refunded. Common sense has prevailed.

I think we might have seen the first part of the story on CT but it’s good to hear CAMC applied common sense regarding Covid and made the refund.

Slight correction  - not refunded but credit note for future booking.

At least it’s not a total loss for people who did the right thing to prevent the spread of Covid.

Agreed, and I point I also made to the Club about the cancellation policy. As it stands, if they don't issue a refund or credit note then they are encouraging those with Covid to proceed with their bookings. That puts everyone else on site at risk, so its good to know they are listening

I do not think they  have any worries in that area  as it is the same as some of this clubs sites ,you need to book early or you may well be disappointed at most times of the year

Maybe they eventually look at emails then as it was in part of one I sent asking for clarification of the T&Cs surprised

It is,  but then why let others also try and find faults as happens when a site is recommended,

probably why others  who post on here do not advise of the sites they use

But they do. I’ve done it myself and no one has picked over my suggestions to find fault, AD.

Anyway, if folk find fault they won’t be booking the site you’re so keen to protect from publicity.

    Well except that JVB said:

The other site we have two bookings for next year  (£10 per night cheaper than the equivalent this clubs site)the owner did not want a deposit and just a phone call as early as possible if we cannot make it

So how can they have worse T&C than the club's?

I am not so sure DD none here would use it because its not CAMC...

But you posted last night that people on CT are leaving the club but still post (paraphrasing there) yet now you are saying there none on here who would it and only use club sites?

...to prove what a rubbish deal it is and so much worse than the CAMC

And if something is proved then it is the truth and can't be argued with?

No publicity required as they are always busy when we have stayed before, and a recommendation to friends ,via some one who has stayed there is worth far more as we were advised

But you could still add it to the "Small Private Sites" thread (which some appear unaware of) where many of us have recommended non club sites (without any negative comments from others "trawling through their t&c" undecided). I've even mentioned sites we've come across on our walks since letting our van go. I very much doubt any site would fail to benefit from such a recommendation.

You should take a look then. Loads of small non club sites all over the country - all used and recommended by members (& former members!) smile

Sorry for the delay Tinny, I personally think it’s a time of flux at CAMC, the new system is bedding in & will take time to become what it wants to be. The whole lack of speed & buggy systems including CT may eventually evolve & become fit for the 21st century. I do hope so as at its best it’s great-it’s not at it’s best right now. I’d like to quote Arnold for the future. . .’I’ll be back’😂😂

Ref earlier posts. If we could get back to more serious matters regarding the new booking system?

Have the club removed links to the Trust Pilot site where ratings have plummeted from 5* to 3.6*. ?

The club is advertised as a top rated site but is this true after all the concerns being raised. Are senior management going to respond?

Theres a link to TrustPilot at the bottom of this page Brue.

The Club is still top rated in my view, as I critique them on the quality of the sites I visit, not on the booking system.

The system, in my view, is fit for purpose and I have had no problems using it
