How's your footy team doing?

Good old FA! They've charged Town with infringing the advertising on shirt rules in relation to the fake shirt.
Town's crime is that they wore the infamous shirt in a friendly match. The match was at Rochdale and the shirt was seen by a massive crowd of 4,000, 3,000 of which were Town fans who'd already seen the shirt earlier that day. All the FA will achieve is yet more publicity for the green bookie.
On a lighter note 15 of the fake shirts were sold on flea bay and raised just over £28,000 for three local charities, some generous fan paid £3,750 for the captain's matchworn shirt.

After a poor start to the season, I'm hoping we might return to winning ways tomorrow night when we take on The Imps in the Carabao Cup. Mind you I'm not holding my breath we've fallen at the first hurdle for at least the past three seasons, all to lower league opposition. And Lincoln City have a really good Cup record.
Sometimes it's hard to keep the faith.

A start to the season? Did it ever go away. I seem to have to endure extensive discourses on every news programme I watch, even to the extent that it is sometimes the headline topic. As if there was nothing of more importance going on in the world.

Not so much a contribution, more a diatribe against its ubiquity. Its not a thread I follow but felt compelled to have a moan.

Two good wins on the bounce now for Rovers - things are looking up. And a good match in prospect tonight against the mighty Brighton & Hove Albion. Could there be a giant killing in store? Probably not but it'll be an interesting encounter all the same.
Feel desperately sad for followers of Bury and Bolton - not much "trickle down" of wealth from the top these days is there? I fear others may go the same way before long.

Couldn't agree more with comments and sentiments above.
I remember going to Gigg Lane about 10 years ago, as an Accrington Stanley fan. We took buckets to collect donations and loose change - we were desperately close to going out of the league AGAIN! The fans at Bury were as supportive and generous as they had been previously. I know how desperate they must feel - they have my total sympathy and best wishes.
If only the bods in control were interested in others outside the premier league????

Now it appears that Bolton Wanderers F.C. has escaped the Great Expulsion due, eventually, to a successful take over !
Brian, though, is still wondering if it took place so late due to ' the money ' waiting to see if the F.A or EFL really would see Bury booted out, or just give more extensions.

Sad day for Bury and for football, which should hang its collective head. I had a couple of happy years attending Gigg Lane with a couple of mates, all of us disillusioned with the main leagues. Non of us were born or bred in Bury but we all lived there and were happy supporting a local club. Feel for the real fans and locals.
I understand that the EFL hadn't even completed proper due diligence on the ToeRag who bought the club. Those responsible shouldn't be around to "Learn the Lessons". They should be removed from their responsibilities.
Only a matter of time before another one folds.

I've not been avoiding this thread honest😇 I've been away without my IPad.
We've had a terrible start to this season, one point from five games is it.
The relatively new manager sacked, no new appointment yet and the fans forum in meltdown. Still things can only get better.

Don't worry, Rog, the Alex have been ( and still are ) performing well enough to satisfy both of us
From the very bottom after opening game, to Top Spot, then down to 6th And now back up to third. So, it seems that the oscillation is getting less and less violent !
There you are Rog, I've laid out the route for the ' T's ' so now go , replicate !!

Thanks for the comforting words Brian but the longer this goes on the harder it is to remain positive.
Town sacked the manager over two weeks ago and despite numerous rumours and lots of speculation it seems they are no nearer to appointing anyone. The latest information would suggest that they're struggling to find someone who actually wants the job.
Things might get better but they could also get considerably worse.
Who knows we might be playing the Alex in league 1 next season.

There is a Very Good Chippy Directly Across Gresty Road From The Alex, Rog == Might not help you be positive, but it will at least feed the Inner Man
Right now I'm trying so very hard to remain positive about England's chances against the 'Orrible 'Ozzies to morrow

I'm feeling much more positive now Brian. We've finally got a new manager, in fact we've got two.
The Cowley brothers were appointed today after turning us down last week.
As for cricket what are the selectors playing at. It's the fifth test in a series where we've already failed to win back the Ashes and a perfect opportunity to look at some new faces. What do they do? Name the same squad!
Ive just got in after watching the under 23s play in a cup tie. Town won 4-0. Now if only the first team could replicate that result against the Wendies on Sunday life would be sweet.
