How's your footy team doing?

I've jùst got in from tonight's match where I witnessed the most bizarre things I've ever seen on a football field.
One of our strikers commits a foul on the near touch line about 10 yards from the Swansea corner flag. The referee eventually consults the linesman who was about a yard away from the incident . God alone knows how the discussion went but after what seemed ages of indecision the ref then calls the other linesman over from the other side of the pitch. Now this fellow must have been at least 70 yards away. They have a committee meeting and the ref books our player, rightly in my opinion.
Mind you the ref is the one from Australia who has been the VAR in some recent Premier League matches. I wonder if that explains some of the dodgy VAR decisions of late. The sooner he catches a slow boat back to Oz the better.
From what I've seen tonight the Swansea training regime must include a day per week at drama school. I've never seen so much play acting in my life If one of our players gave them so much as a funny look they were on the ground writhing around.

Oh Roger, how I wish I could edit away yesterdays match. Listened on Radio Stoke and it was not good. Saw my neighbor this morning - he & his Lady went for a drink in a pub in Sandbach which shewed the whole match and he rather disagreed with me. Said it was definitely NOT that good !! Still another match for 'em, so they should be fit & fully warmed up for the annual snowball fights { harrruumph, growl, snarl }.
I think I'll go for a light lunch & watch Harry Potter XXXVIII solving the world's problems

What a sad tale unfolded on the BBC Red Button
Macclesfield have failed again to pay their players on time, so the players put in a letter stating their intention Not To Play On Saturday when the opponents are supposed to be Crewe Alex.
What should the Alex do if the Macc team turned out is Amateurs & trainees { as I believe has happened before } in an attempt to complete the fixture without incurring penalty / punishment.
Should Crewe try to stroll thro' the game getting just enough goals to win, should they turn the taps on and try to improve goal difference by the very best they can achieve knowing that they are on the edge of the promotion battle, or should they approach P F A & E F L, & try to get the match delayed till later in the season ??
Brian just does not know the answer, only that he is so very sad.

Hearing from one fan _ Game is definitely OFF !
Yet Report on 'MAIL ON LINE is that its still fluid with E F L Stating some more punishment certain for Macc should it not take place.
Also apparently the High Court has deferred the Winding-up order requested by HMRC.
None of the above is at all nice when FIFA revealed that Agents, etc etc took £501, 000,000 { Yes half a billion } out of the World Wide football Money Mine
I agree with you as far as You go Trellis, but, alas, it does not help me feel any happier. So I'll break all the rules and scoff another piece of cake,

No great distance to travel for Crewe fans, Trellis, so no problem there, just I suppose, the officials who may have booked transport & accommodation with obvious cost implications.
One other thing, applicable across all divisions , could be a renewed inquiry into the " Fit and Proper Person " status of Owners etc -- wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall should that take place !!

Macc has been struggling off the pitch for some time now, Moulesy.
Many of the lower tiers of the E F L have lived from hand to mouth for years now. So the Half Billion quid put into Agents And Others pockets internationally over the past year leaves a nasty taste in a fan of football in the countries that gave this game to the world !!

Yet again a cracking game was spoiled by the mindless attitudes of some supporters. Good to see city doing something about it. I was very disappointed with Stirlings reaction or lack of it to the incident , especially as he has suffered racial abuse in the past . Unfortunately it just strengthens my belief that he is a me me me player and bu**er the rest .

I take it you won’t be voting for Raheem in the SPOTT!
I was at the game, United played very well, could, and should have been 4 up at half time.
As for the idiot throwing racist abuse at the United players, hasn’t he realised that most of City’s players are not white Anglo Saxons!
He’s been named and shamed on City’s on line fanzines, a 40ish ex army chap, really should know better.

I just cannot understand these folk at all == do they get so involved / intoxicated that they forget the upper divisions are virtually smothered in Video cameras running pretty well non-stop before, during and after the games at least while fans are in the ground ?? Even if the name was not made public there would be plenty of pictures in the local papers as well as some of the Nationals so likely to get plenty of " Finger Pointing " in the near future

My disappointment with Stirling is that having been on the recieving end of racial abuse he didn't even bother to go with his teammates to try and calm the brain dead idiots down . The cameras picked him up just standing close by with a "nothing to do with me guv" look about him . Simply not good enough .

I was at the big Yorkshire derby on Saturday. We had a very young and inexperienced side because of mutiny in the ranks apparently.
I expected a drubbing and a poisonous atmosphere but was pleasantly surprised on both fronts.
The youngsters put in a good performance and were only beaten by a couple of very good goals. The Leeds fans were quite entertaining and the atmosphere in the ground was brilliant.
A few weeks ago we had a bench worth about £50m this week the bench were all under 18 years old and cost nowt, no prizes for guessing who put in the better shift!

Oh, WE of little Faith Trellis, Mate
Crewe Alexandra F.C. 3 -- 1 Eastleigh
Accrington 2 -- 0 Bolton in some ( very ) minor competition
{ Scraped a dodgy home win there JR }
Charlton 0 -- 1 Huddersfield ( Well done Roger )
Nottingham Forest 1 -- 1 Middlesborough
{ and THAT should bring a warm glow to young Pauline's heart's cockles I hope }

But please note the word in Heavy type, Trellis, Brian got it as wrong as you . Saw the goals at lunch-time on BBC Red Button Sports loop. Think it was about 12 -- 4 by the time I finished my Fried Pigeon Butty
Now I'm wondering what We'll do to Sir Michael Parkinson's mob

Spot on Brian they only joined the club to be able to play in the greedy league and when we were relegated they didn't want to know.
One of them is wanted by Galatasary apparently, hopefully they'll pay us more than we spent on him but I'm not holding my breath. The others haven't exactly impressed so will probably go for pittance.
As for last night, the match wasn't a classic by all accounts but three points are precious, and the goal was a beauty and scored by one of our 18 year olds.
Off to Wigan on Saturday hopefully another three points 🤞

Back from the DW Stadium with a valuable point considering our keeper gave the Latics an early Christmas present.
I have to give a big thumbs up to Wigan Athletic for the way they look after visiting supporters. We arrived early and were faced with the prospect of a longish wait for the turnstiles to open in freezing conditions with a nithering wind, but the club provided a spacious lounge with two bars, big round tables and a big screen showing the early kickoff match at Anfield.
We'd bought hot dogs and chips and were invited to take them in with us, one attendant had even brought a big container of salt if you needed it. This was seventh heaven for my GS who loves lots of salt on his chips. So well done Wigan.
We've got Forest next week and they got drubbed by the Massive yesterday with an ex player of ours getting a hat trick, so they'll be out for blood.
