Service stopover

But BB the aires are often a lot smaller and you probably won't be holding others up as you might on a larger formal site. By the way many of us are used to the concept due to the other club offering the facility but I would dislike being delayed as we were recently due to extra pressure on the MHSP.

Since I've been named as taking part in this discussion (even though, at that point my only contribution had been a 6 word 1 liner on page 1) I will just raise a further question.
When are these facilities to be made available? I mean, clearly it couldn't be earlier than the earliest arrival time for anyone actually arriving to stay on the site. Preferably, it should be clear of peak arrival times (say the first 3 hours after earliest arrival) and certainly shouldn't be later than the latest arrival time of 8pm.
So, given that there is apparently sufficient demand for this, are we to expect an influx of MHs wanting to use the service points between, say 4 and 6 pm before finding a convenient lay by to park up in for the night?

A number of questions BB.
1. How many are using this dump facility other than main site users and are main site users using the facility?
2. Is the dump facility well within the main site and does it require supervised access and exit from the main site.
3. If those who are not using CC sites choose to use sites which apparently include CLs and CSs according to PD (?) why should they come running to a CC site to make good the shortcomings of other options for a pittance? As far as CLs and CSs not being suitable for dumping MH waste water when did that happen? In years gone by MHs used a small waste container or a bucket if necessary - much like caravanners do.
There are incidentally no 'imagined issues' on this thread. Just issues.

Sorry to correct you Moulesy but any off site traffic needs to be on and off before wardens generally step down from manning the office (I know Fridays drag on) at 6pm. Maybe if such a provision was made it would entail arriving between 2pm and 4pm.

An excellent point. I've stayed on many CLs over the past few years and I'd guess almost invariably have shared the pleasure with MHers who use whatever facilities are available quite happily. Obviously there are MHers and then there are MHERS!

The post is question looks a bit lean on facts to me, BB.😄😄

"I didn't see a single caravanner wild camping in 11 weeks away...
how many do you normally see?
i can just see the regular Caravanning posters in this discussion ( Moulesy. EasyT, Cornersready) giving sites a wide berth for a week or two's wild camping, can't you?
Of course 'wild damping' to some might mean being a few inches from the peg "

Perhaps it is that there are (since 1969 ish) motor caravanners, and "others".

BB. Well that is good as far as it goes but most of us know that at present both clubs have MHSP points in less than convenient places. Possibly due to the siting of utilities. So that's the reality when considering changes to club site offerings. Imagine somewhere like Baltic Wharf on a busy day, chaos!

Not at all BB. But was it too much effort to answer my previous questions?
