Service stopover

Does that mean that you use them easily or that you can explain to Moulesy 'how so many hundreds, maybe thousands, of MHers manage to use the facilities at CLs etc which some are claiming either don't exist or are "unsuitable" for them?'

but it could be if a reasonable evaluation had been carried out...

the op request is very simple, a member wants to come into one of their own sites, spend a few mins eptying their waste and filling with water and paying the warden a few quid....
it happens all over Europe without the qualification of being a member of any organisation nor an inquisition about why the service is required.
service providers make a small profit, MHers have recourse to a useful service and on site campers aren't affected....
for those who've seen this provision operate, it's hard to see the myriad objections from those who haven't.
however, that's life....on CT?

Still not answering my previous questions BB? There is time yet.

Site users may well be affected on CC sites due to location of MHSPs.l

ok, I'll indulge you as best I can....
1. yes, the MHSP is shared between onsite users and those passing through..though how many pass through on any specific site, I wouldn't know ...how could I? some sites I've seen do have a double MHSP facility.
2. well positioned MHSP are usually just near the exit, for those leaving the site...passing users would usually just enter, swing over to the MHSP, go and pay (unless the 'bourne' has a card/coin/jeton paying facility) and then leave without those on site even knowing they've been there...
3. no comment other than those I've made supporting the op a few mins ago....it's a simple request, it's supplied elsewhere without issue..

As for added traffic on the sites, am I right in thinking that once you have paid for your pitch , you are allowed to move on and off the site as you wish?

as for added traffic on the sire, am I wrong in thinking that when you pay for a pitch, you are free to move on and off that pitch as you wish ???

A small observation on something being missed by many.
The "facilities" on Caravan Club sites are usually centrally located to maximise the "convenience" to those staying on site. Some sites have had pitches subsequently added without the provision of further "facilities", so the road layout in some places has become a bit lopsided.
Water, and the substances dumped from motor caravans, will flow only downhill. Hence the location for a motor caravan service point is dictated more by the slope of ground than by road ways.
Yes, sewage can be pumped uphill - have you seen the cost of pumps!

With plenty of space and a similar set up it could work here for much of the day. However not many sites have suitable set ups or plenty of space near the access.

Well there are issues in UK and hence why it is not readily available.

"..it's a simple request, it's supplied elsewhere without issue.."
BB - I'm reminded from my notes () that you've used some of the top "full fat" UK Sites (Haven, Morris, Concierge, Crealy - have I missed any?). I haven't used any of those so, for my information, where are their MHSPs located and exactly what do they consist of? Just asking in case I ever consider moving to a MH and using such a site, you understand!

If only the people i/c the installation of MSP's on CC Ltd sites understood that
They mix socially with those who removed NGRs and pricing structures from the Site Directory, I believe.

Surely the club should provide facilities for all PAYING members, I use all there types of sites , club, cl , I even pay for a year of WiFi with them. They need to catch up with the way the world is changing, there are more and more motorhome s on the road and should cater for them, were not asking for this 10 minute service to be free!!! We would gladly pay up to £10 !!!

I can see no reason for the CaMC to provide such facilities which to be frank encourages long term wild camping and does not support those small CL owners who provide a service to many appreciative fellow members. Yes, I've done it, very rarely mind and then only for the odd night or two when no alternative has been available. However, when we have we always book that nightly stay on route to dump, fill, ablute and 'launder'.
I understand that some folk holiday differently, and many are responsible but let's support the sites and CLs out there, if other providers wish to provide the likes so be it mind.

Should, would, could Juliette. I'd like a lot of things on a club site but at present I find they cater for most things I need because I stay on them and use them. Sadly the future may not be quite as it seems, diesel versus electric for one thing, so lets enjoy it whilst we can.

I've recently looked up prices for the Highland s, the other solution would be to pay the minimum pitch fee , usually £10-£15 fill up with wayer, empty your toilet, empty grey waste, and leave. Then the club would still have all the so called problems of service stopovers, but they would also have a empty pitch that they could not re sell!!!!

Brue I also like the odd club site, but when traveling around more secluded areas like the Highlands, it would be good to have
this facility. I used to stay on club sites all the time when my 4 kids were young, as wild camping isn't suited when that many children are involved. Some people like myself like to be on their own when camped up, not surrounded by other outfits

Juliette, you obviously feel strongly about this issue so I urge you to contact the club and put your case. All you’re going to get here are our opinions, statements that it works elsewhere, and views about wildcamping.
You think it's almost a right to have this facility, others disagree but only the club can make a decision whether to introduce such a scheme.
I seriously suggest you join C&CC so you can take advantage of their facilities as I think you will find they have more sites in the Highlands than this club.

The only thing I wish to add is that Scotland made great efforts to provide an "access" code for the countryside, but there are rules and regulations. Wild camping is considered to be the use of tents/lightweight camping and there is a particular code for this activity. Although it might be nice to be on your own in a van and out in the wilds users should check whether this is permissible.
That's the end of my contributions!
