Surely the club should provide facilities for all PAYING members

They do Juliette when those members pay to use a site.

No, I believe the last time this subject was raised there was pretty much complete agreement that the club was not the right target for such a provision, or have I mis-remembered? undecided

Then the club would still have all the so called problems of service stopovers, but they would also have a empty pitch that they could not re sell!!!!

Not at all.  Such vacant pitches are regularly resold to the stream of motor caravanners who turn up late in the day looking for a pitch without booking. This was explained on another thread last week by a site warden.

    Over 100% occupancy.

Very true ,it was very noticeable at FM ,on Sundays usually, when several motor caravans  would be queuing to use the MCSP

can't follow this easily but once again is it a minority wanting a cheaper something paid for by the majority who do not need or want said services?

More or less, Corners. The minority wanting something for which they are willing to pay but which could inconvenience others. They’re not willing to commit to staying on site, which is what this club is all about, and are effectively asking the club to support wild camping.

Meanwhile we're told it will all be fine as it works elsewhere even though that's not operated by a club. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe as members they feel this club has a duty to help even though the club has already said no?

I think the other club is the obvious answer as they are happy to do it. See, there is a way.👍🏻

    Probably the best way, WTG.

Why not ask the club about it as I suggested to the OP?

Maybe those who are so vociferous in their antipathy to the notion might think differently if they had experienced the motorhome way of life “over there”?

Again, the old mantra, comparing over there and trying to make it happen over here because over there is so much better, and we poor over here tourers need to be educated and if only we were then we would know better, how insulting!

I think that we are bright enough to imagine the benefits to some. We maybe don't all see great benefits for the majority of site users though. I personally see no mileage in saying that fully paid up members going elsewhere would free up CC pitches as they are mainly going to go elsewhere anyway.

It matters not WTG. The days you want to stay off site you would not be using CC sites anyway. You can probably stay off site a couple of days and then use a site, whether CC or not, and empty tanks then

Those of us who in the past have been "over there"with both caravans and motor caravans ,but then since not going have also noted how this little island has neither the space or available land to have the nevania that is as some say motor caravan" heaven" that is available "over there" and with  ,at the at the moment ,the growth in motor caravan ownership "over here"will not make any difference, except probably increase what seems to be a "problem"for those who cannot accept the situation

I am not, you are the one being aggressive, just look at yours words in bold:

Maybe those who are so vociferous in their antipathy to the notion might think differently if they had experienced the motorhome way of life “over there”?

That clearly implies that if we did experience the way over there we would accept the wisdom you are trying give us. It is insulting. I don't go about claiming my way if better if you had experienced it. I do not have such hubris.

Shame again that over there is brought in on UK sites section, and gain always so much better than here. Why does it happen?undecided

Well I must say that the response this small question has received hha surprised me. Especially the strong reactions of some . Certainly put me off ever asking the so called community another question.

strange thing to say as you put it in the story section?

Apart from that equally strange is that you are put off? Why? You post on an online forum, you actually asked what people thought and they answered.

Strong reactions? What is wrong with that? did you want weak ones? or just those agreeing with your view?

Well you did effectively ask what folk thought J, If you want to know never be afraid to ask. You may not always get the response that you would like but at least you are aware and enlightened.

Well "nevania"is the way over there is described by somewink

We also realised a caravan with its readily available support vehicle is where in this country is a much better method of making  best use of our "hobby
