But BB the aires are often a lot smaller and you probably won't be holding others up as you might on a larger formal site. By the way many of us are used to the concept due to the other club offering the facility but I would dislike being delayed as we were recently due to extra pressure on the MHSP.

Since I've been named as taking part in this discussion (even though, at that point my only contribution had been a 6 word 1 liner on page 1) I will just raise a further question.

When are these facilities to be made available? I mean, clearly it couldn't be earlier than the earliest arrival time for anyone actually arriving to stay on the site. Preferably,  it should be clear of peak arrival times (say the first 3 hours after earliest arrival) and certainly shouldn't be later than the latest arrival time of 8pm.

So, given that there is apparently sufficient demand for this, are we to expect an influx of MHs wanting to use the service points between, say 4 and 6 pm before finding a convenient lay by to park up in for the night? laughing

    A number of questions BB.

    1. How many are using this dump facility other than main site users and are main site users using the facility?

    2. Is the dump facility well within the main site and does it require supervised access and exit from the main site.

    3. If those who are not using CC sites choose to use sites which apparently include CLs and CSs according to PD (?) why should they come running to a CC site to make good the shortcomings of other options for a pittance? As far as CLs and CSs not being suitable for dumping MH waste water when did that happen? In years gone by MHs used a small waste container or a bucket if necessary - much like caravanners do.

There are incidentally no 'imagined issues' on this thread. Just issues.

Sorry to correct you Moulesy but any off site traffic needs to be on and off before wardens generally step down from manning the office (I know Fridays drag on) at 6pm. Maybe if such a provision was made it would entail arriving between 2pm and 4pm.

An excellent point. I've stayed on many CLs over the past few years and I'd guess almost invariably have shared the pleasure with MHers who use whatever facilities are available quite happily. Obviously there are MHers and then there are MHERS! laughing

"I didn't see a single caravanner wild camping in 11 weeks away...

how many do you normally see?

i can just see the regular Caravanning posters in this discussion ( Moulesy. EasyT, Cornersready) giving sites a wide berth for a week or two's wild camping, can't you?

Of course 'wild damping' to some might mean being a few inches from the peg "

Well, yes, I agree, maybe I was being over generous. But surely 2pm is too close to peak arrival time. How about making it available, say, between 4 and 4:30? Can't say fairer than that really! laughing

I read it BB but. as within one of your assumptions I dismissed it as it seems to work for most on site. However you see a possible congestion that you think sites should add to by encouraging off site users. Makes little sense to me BB

Perhaps it is that there are (since 1969 ish) motor caravanners, and "others".

4.30 is too late and hence why I suggested 4. We want them all off site before after work arrivals from 5.30pm on.

I would have thought tha ton sites with 12am earliest arrival for those staying the 'rush' will have cleared before 2pm.

I think that the provision maybe required for that Very Small faction of motorhomers that can't wipe their own butt in the dark even with two hands - not for most.

BB. Well that is good as far as it goes but most of us know that at present both clubs have MHSP points in less than convenient places. Possibly due to the siting of utilities. So that's the reality when considering changes to club site offerings. Imagine somewhere like Baltic Wharf on a busy day, chaos!

Can someone, please explain to me how so many hundreds, maybe thousands, of MHers manage to use the facilities at CLs etc which some are claiming either don't exist or are "unsuitable" for them? undecided

but, hang on, isn't the club in the throes of 'redeveloping' the MHSP on its sites?

    Redeveloping does not mean relocating
