Sorry ABM! We are a lazy pair of ice-cream-selfie-takersembarassed Hopefully, we'll be in the club lounge enjoying coffee and biscuits while you're struggling with your shopping trolley.

Take some comfort from the possibility of our having a stormy crossingsmile

Safe journey chasncath, hope the crossing isn't to stormy.

Another David glad your puncture sorted.

Thanks for all your kind comments. EasyT your so right what matters us OH recovery, and living life now!

We sold our beloved Homa today. We dealt with a really nice chap from an advert in the club magazine. No wonder we couldn't solve the water coming in - there were several spots of corrosion on the aluminium roof 😢 so the offer was less first suggested. We've not checked the roof thoroughly for a considerable time obviously, but not sure we'd have known what the early signs looked like! But the chap was impressed with the condition of it overall and the mileage so was prepared to buy, but did say we'd get more of we put it for sale on the internet saying it needed serious work. He accepted that that was too much aggro after the year we've had and we agreed on what we considered a fair sum. Instant bank transfer, isn't technology wonderful? And our dear Homa drive off into the afternoon. Who's to say after advertising etc we'd get a better offer?

Not cancelling our membership but will let it lapse if we haven't got another come renewal. OH has been adamant we weren't even going to consider another MH but now wavering. Much consideration to be done over the coming months, weighing of pros and cons etc, but it can be done at leisure - there are certainly lots of alternative ways of taking holidays/trips.

Sad to think we won't be seeing any of you on sites in the near future. I'm looking forward to reading, as I've done this year, about your travels. Enjoy...........

Edit I'm sorry if I've missed anyone in replying, you know this site you can't read the posts if you're not on the right page with losing your own text. Forgive me 😉

All the best B2 glad you got a price you were both reasonably happy with. Like others have said there are many other ways to holiday but hopefully (in time) you may be able to get another van that suits your needs. Have you though of a Romahome Type van might be more suitable for you both for days out ect and often they are no larger than a large car we visited their factory when we were staying on the IOW last year and were impressed by how much they could fit in such a small space. Not for us at the moment as we tend to do longer trips in the summer so need more space but something we would look at in the future if towing the caravan became a bit much.

    Best Wishes

    Funnily enough..........

Not checked one out, but I love the look of them. Theres a lot to be said for having everything onboard when you're out and about! Would save on storage fees even if we didnt have as our only vehicle.

Must say I think we both feel a sense of relief now the deed is done. Finding the corrosion holes actually 'helped' us to know it had to go and thus the regrets don't exist.

Thanks for your good wishes everyone.

Glad you feel you've made the right choice Bakers.

Had a long day today merely enjoying ourselves.😎 Mrs WN agreed to make an effort and get up early so that we could get to Snettisham for the early tide that would eventually reach far into the Wash and make for spectular birdwatching. A smashing morning was had and we even felt a bit of warmth, not normally associated at this location!

After lunch back at the van we drove to Hunstanton and walked along the beach to the White Horse Inn at Holme for a refresher. Lovely weather.

So all in all about 9 miles of walking. Even had time to do a small shop.

Have to sort out a dental appointment for Mrs WN who cracked a tooth on a soft plum! We have Denplan so they are trying to get one for tomorrow, fingers crossed. Fortunately there's no pain but it needs looking at just in case.

They are very well built and having a look around they aren’t overly expensive looks like a decent 2nd hand one could be got for a reasonable price. Like I say something for you both to look at

Good job you did Snettisham and Hunstanton this morning, I've just been reading BBC about evacuation between the two tomorrow 😯

The notice covers caravans and homes between the sea defences at Snettisham and Hunstanton between 07:00 and 10:00 on Tuesday.

I hope Denplan are successful in finding Mrs WN an appointment for tomorrow. Hopefully it will remain pain free.

Thanks, we are sad but glad she passed in peace and while she still knew us. She would have been 93 years old in 26 days time.

Yes, we found that out the first time we were here after the bus that used to pass the site was withdrawn!

However, we will be driving along to near the bus stop as there is plenty of space for us to park there in the side streets, we did that last time we were here.

OH has obtained the bus map and worked out that we should take the 27 for the National Museum tomorrow, and the 16 on Thursday for Princes Street and the National Gallery.  Wednesday we are being picked up by our friends and going to see an exhibition at the Gallery of Modern Art, followed by lunch and then back to the van for coffee and cake and a good catch up.

Rain this evening and certainly  colder.  No kneeling pads to be found today unfortunately, I will need to improvise.

Bakers2, I am glad that you feel relieved that you made the right decision. Onwards and upwards. I am also very pleased that you will be here with us on CT for a while longer. We would really miss you and your news if you left. I hope you find a smaller van that you feel comfortable driving so you can continue travelling. In the meantime happy holidays.

Friends of ours used to have a static on a site behind The White Horse at Holme that we used sometimes years ago WN. Lovely little site. Do you know if the site is still there?

We've had to abandon our trip because of a few smallish problems with the van. We could probably have continued but didn't want to get any further away from home and a disaster happen. So we packed up on Saturday and drove straight home from the Forest of Dean. Glad that we didn't delay our departure till Sunday considering the rain that we would have had to drive through. Just waiting now for the service engineer to come round on Wednesday and hopefully fix the problems. Than we'll be off again but will have to give the South East a miss again this year. Unfortunately that's at least 4 new sites that we won't be visiting this year.
