All the best, B2. Take your time and see how things work out. There are options out there apart from running your own MH.

Looks lovely AD.  Have a great time.... I'm sure you are...

Sorry to hear about the motorhome Bakers2.  Hope it will a sort out...

We were going to have a few days out in the caravan this week, but decided against it looking at the weather.  Might try for next week....

So sad to hear your news Bakers.frown As TW says there are other options such as a Static or even a long Seasonal pitch with the dealer moving the caravan etc. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Thought today was going to be a right off weather wise but we managed 3 hours either side of lunchtime in the sun and another 90 minutes this afternoon. Otherwise it's tipping it down. Bit tired today so not that bothered.

We returned yesterday from a 30 night break. We included a stop on a nice CL about 4 miles from Boston simply because we had never visited Boston and were pleasantly surprised.

We also visited Boston for the first time last week, ET, and like yourself was pleasantly surprised. I suspect it may not look the same this time next year although I do hope the impact isn't too great for it.

Phew! Just a quick look in, will catch up tomorrow properly.

Blinking heck, a tad damp here today is how best to describe our day! Huge crowds though out to watch the race, despite it having to be rerouted. Loads of overseas visitors. We almost decided to stay up on Grinton Moor yesterday with MH, how lucky we didn’t as race never got nearit as it had to be rerouted. Seriously wet all day. Great atmosphere though, lots of great fancy dress. 😂

Sorry to hear your selling the MH Bakers, you've had one hell of a year.  Good to hear your OH is doing well,  as you say never say never.

Lovely day here 26c and full sun, best day so far. Had a very relaxing day sitting in the sun reading, then a walk along the prom watching all those brave souls out on surf boards, the seas here are rough.

Had a message from sister that Mum is not well again frown

We will be here probably until  the last day the site is open,  still to hot in Spain unless you're on the coast.

Same from me Bakers2, sensible to keep all the "stuff" for a while, you never know, but the best thing is your OH making progress. You've both done well coping with everything this year! smile

It’s is indeed ET, and we echo all the best wishes from others Bakers. We have done a lot more cottage and B&B holidays since OH was seriously ill three years ago. There are some lovely choices nowadays at very decent prices if you shop around. Not the same obviously, but still very enjoyable.

Bakers2,so very sorry t hear that you have had to make the decision to sell your MH. It does sound like the right decision though.  As others have said take your time and hopefully you can find an alternative to suit you in time. So pleased to hear that your OH is doing well. That is the main thing after the year that you have had. All the best to  you both.

Sorry to here your news B2, it can't have been an easy decision. Hopefully you will be able to return to it in the future.

Fireworks over the Puy tonight. The church at the top is dedicated to Saint Michael and it's his feast day today, so we presume that was the reason.

With a fair bit of sport on tellybox today I chose to spend a good part of the morning unloading the Jazz ! Even down to lifting the crockery from the racks it resides in and putting it neatly wrapped into a floor level recently vacated cupboard. Found loads of items fit only for a museum ( embarassed ) as well as some shirts & t-shirts that will need a severe pressing to see if they are fit for transfer to the ' duster collection ' embarassedembarassed  or just transfer direct to land fill.  Still  i can enjoy myself this afternoon watching some Athletics while  "# dashing away with the smoothing iron #" tra la !!wink

So very sad to hear you're dropping out of the Touring Fraternity B2, but as I've discovered this morning, you will have had a fair bit of exercise so a spell of R & R is in order for both of you  !!

    Keep posting and you never know ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,,

The "travellers?" have gone we think they got fed up with not being able  easy access to the area because of vehicles being parked (quite legitimatly) in front of their original and only accesswink

Just got to get area sterilized and repaired before allowing access for the school children to use the footpaths to and from their two schoolsyell

Arrived at Edinburgh club site after a good 85 minute trip from home.  Still warm and sunny here, but forecast to get colder.

Off for some shopping soon, then to plan what to do while here and find out about buses.  Thinking of visiting the National Museum and the National Gallery, and are meeting up with friends on our third day here.

Site quite busy as far as we can see.

Have not yet discovered that we have forgotten anything, but will need to try to buy a kneeling pad as I had left mind at DD's house.

Had a walk up to the statue de Notre Dame de France today. A bit higher than the church of St Michael. Very clear and great views all around. You could even climb up a spiral staircase within the Virgin Mary and via a ladder get into the crown. Unfortunately, I assume for safety, they had put a dome of Perspex over it which was badly scratched. So the photo was taken from a little window in her shoulder. Onwards to the north tomorrow for a few days in the bigger Puys, before we start more seriously towards Cherbourg.

    Kj

It's a fair walk to the buses, at least three quarters of a mile. The number 27 bus is the most direct into the City. Stops near the National Gallery. The number 16 does go to the City Centre but goes via Leith and the Ocean Terminal where the Royal Yacht is, well worth a visit if you have not been. I appreciate that you may well want to make use of your bus pass but we found the taxi service from the site to the top of Princes Street. £12 return for two when we used it a few weeks ago. Wouldn't fancy walking back to the site from the bus stop in the dark, especially as Marine Drive is unlit!
