Shorts B2 and Nellie...brrr! It's probably why I say it's warm here because I'm well covered up, a distinct chill in the air today, real Autumn has started. Visiting dog was waiting for us when we got back yesterday, he has a toy fox which he grabs to greet people with (successful training to stop him jumping up!)
Glad you managed the RHS visit B2, Rosemoor is good all year, I like it in the depths of winter as it's still very colourful, lots of interesting trees and shrubs.
Garden club supper tomorrow, one good thing about our club, we eat and drink our way throught the year!

Brue are you feeling better? Did they get to the bottom of your issue?
Jolly cool here this morning but very bright, shame it wasn't as bright yesterday the gardens would have shone a bit more! Today I've put on a knee length denim skirt so I can wear my sandals again. But I have gone to a long sleeved t-shirt and will add a body warmer. Otherwise I will have my mum lecturing me and in my 60"s I don't care for it 😂😂. Won't get OH out of his shorts
yet.
Your gardening club sounds like a good un.
Enjoy ýour day folks.

Better luck with the weather today. Funny how some places are like that for some folks. Cornwall for us weather and family news everytime we went. Don't go now but it doesn't stop either 😉😉
safe travels to all on the move for whatever the reason.

Enjoy your walk, shorts are sensible legs dry much better if you get caught in a shower than trousers!
Interesting about Denplan, I thought cost was covered by Denplan to the dentist. Luckily we've never put it to the test. Just a bit more aggro even if it's all sorted promptly 😉

We use Denplan, when my wisdom tooth "blew up" on a CL stay in Cornwall I was well looked after by a Wadebridge dentist, no bills as far as I recall...but a horrible holiday prowling round with toothache!
I am a lot better, thanks, B2, it was a combination of things, the sinus and ear infection has only just left my system after three months (fingers crossed!) Still getting recalls to check on causes and effects but getting there. The good clear air in NW Scotland helped, a long way to go to say that!
Enjoy your excursions WN.

Day off work today, so busy at home. Washing done and out on the line in the sunshine. Home buildings insurance renewal sorted out.......one phone call managed to reduce the quote by £250 😡 I’ve decided they’re all thieving scoundrels. Also made some vegetarian snacks to put in the freezer for when we meet up with friends in the caravan this month. Not sure they look very appetising......🤔 the carrot fritters taste like cardboard and the Indian mash potato burgers look like green mushy slop 😐 ........I’ve tried! 😊

Bakers2 the renewal quote is always a figure plucked out of the sky and all I do is ring them which immediately lowers the quote. Very naughty of the industry I think. No we don’t live in a mansion 😂 🏛 just a bungalow. 😊
The vegetarian cooking has not turned out as I would have liked. Our friend is vegetarian and when we get together in the caravans, I like to be able to offer her something, as we all cook and eat together. Last time I made a veg lasagne which was quite successful but my offerings may be shop bought this time! 😉

ADD46, we had a similar drop in home insurance a few years ago, Saga kept upping their quotes till we realised that we were paying over the top figures. After that we grouped everything together with another insurer and have never got back to the amount Saga wanted. A serious house fire near us made everyone take a good look at their insurance.

A bit wet here near Clermont Ferrand. Had a pleasant walk about the lake before lunch, about 4.5 miles and stayed mainly dry. It was the first outing for the waterproofs in over a month, so can't really complain. The Aire is 2800 feet up so temperatures are down at only 12C. Supposed to go to 2C tonight, so that will be a bit of a shock to the system when we leave tomorrow morning. Good acclimatisation for comming home.😂

It was 12°C on the flat Norfolk coast today Steve but at least the sun shone although the brisk NW wind took a bit off. Areas near the Golf Course at Brancaster were flooded and the tide had marooned the boat shed at Thornham but we were able to get around without getting our feet wet. A lovely 8 mile walk.
We also understood that Denplan settled with the dentist. We had to ring Denplan to get them to make an appointment and the dental practice they made it with is shown as a Denplan operating place but Denplan just asked us to settle the bill and send them the receipts. Never had to use them in the UK before. Apparently you have to be more than 40 miles from home before it kicks in! We did use a dentist in Germany a few years ago (£50 for a filling) and Denplan settled up with us. They accepted we were more than 40 miles away!

We shared a fish and chips today sitting on a bench in the sunshine by St Neot's Parish Church. Having a two-night stop at C3 site at 'St Nuts' to acclimatize ourselves after 5 weeks in France. No more Super-U, it's back to the Co-Op!

Sat on site at Ouistraham, weather dry bit chilly after what we've had recently. Lots of Brits going home on tomorrow mornings ferry. Hope the weather when we get to UK isn't as bad as the forecast says, doesn't look great for driving north.
WN, we had to pay dentist then claim back from Denplan a few years ago when I had a problem while in Wales.
It never rains but it pours, BIL just got his results back re his prostate scan and biopsy, positive for cancer

It has been a lovely sunny but cooler day, managed to get grass cut, while dry enough , before our next tour starts,
Major clear up where "travellers?" (there are more apt names
)have left and they were only here 4days , add temp"security" ditches being dug in case of a return

Pleasant day weather wise today. Picked up brother from a local CL and took him shopping. Had a walk to the beach and observed the Turnstones are back after their 2000 mile migration. Brother staying over with us tonight so will be good to have a catch up

Tammygirl safe onward journey. Forecast doesn't look good, maybe another overnight in the UK if it's too bad. Thoughts are with your sister and BIL, hopefully they can treat it successfully. Great timing.! Took mum for biopsy on her lip today expecting the worse she's had several bits of skin cancer.
Brue delighted to hear you're getting there.
Oneputt enjoy time with your brother. Good to know the turnstiles have arrived safely.
ADD I always feared some took the Michael yours and Brue posts prove it.
Been a glorious but chilly day I could have done with cutting our grass but otherwise engaged 😉

I did a double take on that one B2, I wondered why Oneputt needed "turnstiles!"
The delights of predictive text...which happens to me quite often.
TG, hope you get home safely, I expect your sister will be very glad to see you, sorry about the latest news.
It has been lovely here today, had some help in the garden, cooked tea for three of us, daughter's partner and dog here. Partner has gone off for his band practice, dog here for another night. Nice to have a dog around, we miss ours a lot.
Not sure about the weather, think it's going to be wet and colder. Might persuade OH to do an afternoon cinema trip to see Downton A tomorrow. Never watched the series, am I going to enjoy it? I see DavidK did and I think B2 did too? Not sure if it's my cup of tea but it would be nice to escape for a couple of hours entertainment.

So sorry to hear about your BIL Tammygirl. I hope they can treat it successfully. Such a lot for your family to cope with at the moment.
I am glad to hear that you feel so much better brue. Do you think you might get another dog in the future?
After an absolute soaking yesterday it has been a lovely bright but very chilly day here today. Proper long trousers and appropriate warm footwear were donned on Sunday. Met daughter for a coffee during a very rare lunch break for her today. So lovely to have a catch up with her with no interruptions from husband or children.

The insurance on OH's little Smart car is due this month, at present insured via CAMC at a cost of £213, just got the renewal and they say our current insurer Aviva is no longer available (sounds strange) and that the best premium is now £417 with Aegas? I think.
Just as well I was sitting down when she passed on that information!
Having barely got over the huge increase in the Touareg insurance in March, she has been using comparison sites and has found a policy with General Accident for £240, how come the CAMC brokers could not find that!? Even stranger was that there was a quote from Aegas for £309, so it certainly pays to shop around.
Next insurance renewal will be the house and contents at the end of December, that should be interesting!

Brue if you have not watched the TV series I don't think you are at any disadvantage. In fact you might enjoy it all the more because you haven't as you won't be trying to compare. Its typical Julian Fellows sort of script and its always interesting how he portrays the upstairs/downstairs dynamic especially how some of the downstairs have an interesting close relationship with some of the upstairs although everyone knows their place on both sides of the divide!

We have had 3 pretty much perfect days in Lisbon which is a beautiful city and so easy to get around. Temperatures in the high 20's and a gentle breeze make for perfect sightseeing! Our hotel was right in the heart of the city with a view of St George's castle above the buildings of old Lisbon. The highlight is the Belem region and in particular the superb, but relatively modern Monument to the Discoveries. You can take a lift to the top which gives fantastic views over the region, including across to the jeronimos monestary and down to this huge compass and map of the world - the tiny dots are actually people which gives you an idea of the scale of the monument.

Much cooler this morning when out with Rosa there was a slight ground frost in one of the "frost hollows" did check it was not just heavy dew, supposed to be getting warmer, otherwise may have to find some long trousers. only saw one other dog walker also still in shorts
This area has been designated a enviromental drought as we have had such poor rainfall over the last 3 years, less than 50% of normal winter amounts , and to expect hose pipe bans early next year our aquifiers and chalk streams have very low water levels,
Cambridshire /Bedfordshire/Norfolk and Suffolk , are also now getting close

JVB chilly here this morning frost still on the shed roof at 7am. And we're in town, thermometer said 5c then. Brrrr ❄❄.
OH had blood test at 0855 took him in the car as needed him to pop into a shop or 2 whilst I waited. He's was in shorts and short sleeve t-shirt. I sat in the car with arms send legs and flip flops on, heater on but it still felt chilly, car saying 8c by then. Bright- ish.
We've not had much rain, as per usual, they have extended reservoirs in the county over the last few years but house building has continued a pace 😲. There was an item that OH saw on local news a while back talking of bringing water here from The Fens! Been several years since we had hosepipe bans but they did extend into the winter!

KjellN, the irony of the situation is that General Accident are owned by Aviva! We have our car insured with GA but they insist we do everything by internet. No problems with them (yet). There was a very reasonable additional premium of about £3 to pay when I changed my car recently, upgrading power etc with over 6 months until renewal.
Nice autumnal morning. Getting the caravan prepared as we're moving to a CL near Holt today. Not that far from here so won't leave for another 45 minutes.
Hope everyone has a pleasant day.

Much cooler here 9.9C on weather panel and felt chilly outside upto 22C max today so a bit better than yesterday. Not a good start here no water here first thing so no showers or washing so found other chores to do ironing and the water is now back on so washing is on as rain forecast for tomorrow and Saturday we are at a conservation day for the St Jacque's Compostella GR 65 walking trail as it is near us have been before so out with loppers, brush cutter and other tools plus gloves it is always the first Saturday in October and we have missed the last two years due to holidays but now getting more folk going and a very enjoyable day and forcast not looking to bad dry and about 20C, usual French lunchtime a bottle is produced how they manage with petrol tools I do not know and there usually food at the end of day and then off to help finish friends bathrooom on Sunday.
Enjoy Norfolk WN all OH's family come from there, envious of you seeing all the wildlife.

It's slowly turning into Autumn here. The milk cows are in at night (plenty of grass, but the fields are too wet).
We had a night out last night - our first gig for months. Ralph McTell at The Brewery. It was sold out to a very appreciative audience. If you only know of him from "Streets of London", there's much much more. He talked about the songs and sang and played for 90 minutes with no interval. I was very restrained and only bought two CD's from the Merch stall!
It's good to get out instead of falling asleep in front of the television (mainly OH, not me). But we are looking to get a new TV - a "smart one". Sometimes the sound on ours is awful, so maybe the time has come. But, looking online it's a minefield. So many initials and features!
