Goldie, we passed the Westmorland show signs on the way up. Hope you all have a good time.
ADD46 we're still trying to track a parcel that has gone backwards and forwards between the sender and ourselves. We think it's finally being held at our local PO to retrieve when we get back. Hope you get your replacement battery more easily.
TDA we're travelling no further than Poolewe, last visited over 30 years ago!
Have a good day one and all.

Had a good costal walk from site to Cap Levet. Weather was dull and blustery but still a good 9 miles. Took a picnic lunch and managed to to find a sheltered spot to sit and eat.
On our return we repositioned the van and hitched up for an early start.

Easy run down to N.Wales, with an hour stop at Channock Richards Services for a meet up and chat with daughter and an exchange of goodies. We came off the better, as usual, and now have a couple of kilos of Belgium chocolates and another bottle of Malt whisky.
Now on another new CL to us, and very pleased with our choice. Tomorrow should be interesting!!

Hope you got off ok Nellie! Some interesting stuff from others as well. We had a drive down to Hawick today, and then a glorious moorland drive down to Hermitage Castle. Stunning location, fabulous scenery all the way down with next to no traffic. It’s our last day here tomorrow, been a lovely stay and lucky us with the weather, only rain has been overnight. We are staying overnight in Bowes on way home, another nice looking pub B&B.😁
Oops, we just crossed. You did get off ok👍 Have a look online at what things are open for Heritage Open Week, lots to see and do.

Glad that the weather was fine for your stay in the Scottish Borders. Did I spot, on TV, your Jeep at Smailhome as the TdB went through, up a short track on a left hand bend? Did you manage to get to Roslyn Chapel, and suss out the CL next door to it?
Will have a look at the Heritage Open Week, thanks. Have a safe trip home.

Safe drive down to Malvern yesterday, although we did have to divert off the M6 at Stafford due to an accident.
Very sticky getting off the CL at Penrith in the morning thanks to the overnight rain. Thankful for the mover, it did a great job no cutting up of the grass.
Now sat on the C&CC site using their free wifi to post on here, cheeky or what. Last cuppa before we leave at 12.00, taking it easy as we don't need to be at Plymouth untill 19.00 or there abouts for the ferry.
Have fun while we are away and play nice
Have a good trip brue, wn, nellie and any others heading out and about.
Safe crossing to OP

Did one of my favourite walks today from Tideswell to Cressbrook Mill following the river, weather was lovely which helps. ☺
Have now popped down the Anglers for a pint of Bakewell Best. 😉
Safe travels and hope all trips are enjoyable.

Yes, that was indeed us up at Smailholm! We had a great view as they were coming uphill. We managed to shoot down to St Boswell as well to see them roll through there as well, so a good day. weather was lovely as well. We didn't go into Berwick, bit too fraught. We found the CL near Smailholm, looks nice. Opted for Museum of Flight instead of Roslyn, but we have been before. All in all been a lovely break, smashing cottage and we have been all over the place, including down to Hermitage Castle.
We head off South tomorrow, one more night out, staying at Bowes. We are hoping not to touch a motorway until we pick up A1 at Wetherby, and thats not far from home. Lots to see and enjoy in next two days.

Good crossing to Poole today, now set up at Rookesbury Park which is full. Wardens think it’s because of the Goodwood weekend.
Had a surprise when we got to Poole when an immigration officer ask us how security was at Cherbourg, cursory was my reply although the police were busy trying to catch intruders on the docks. The border guards didn’t look very fit compared with the guys they were trying to catch.

Glad your crossing was uneventful OP, we have a few more weeks before we head that way. Very busy here also by the Verdon river, where we arrived yesterday after our foray through the Camargue. First site we tried was full, the one we are on only able to offer us 3 nights. When we went for a walk round yesterday afternoon we took a look at the at the local Aire. The electronic sign showed Complete, looked like 60 or so vans. Not many Brits, mainly French plus a few others. This site is a lovely and we have a reasonably sized pitch, although due to obstructions the van need shoehorning onto it😂. I don't think we are going to be moving it until we leave. Bedding in the washing machine, should dry OK 29C forecast for today.

Some challenging driving around that area by the look of GoogleEarth.

Lot of good stuff ‘over there’ but having just had my first proper bacon roll in a month, you just can’t beat it.
Went to visit brother last evening who is currently at the C&CC site at Denny Wood. No facilities or Ehu and it was chock a block with both vans and Mhomes which just shows that there is a need for such places within the club. Non C&CC members can use the site.
Had a nice Thai meal in Lyndhurst.
Hope all those that are travelling have a great time, those still under the weather are feeling better.

Don't think so AD
. I'm More inclined to think it's the Grandparents etc having a little R & R now the rascals are back in prison no no sorry I meant school
.
Been Mixing Bird food and crushing peanuts for my neighbour to donate to the tweets while I'm away at Cherry Hinton next week. Now I've got to re-order the lot of "Winter Rated" foods- ordered today they'll be here by Monday, so I must remember to dust off the old truss again
Did say some days back I've had mail shots calling me in for FLU jab and Retinopathy checks, now I've got a missive from " N.C.C. EVENTS" telling me of all the glories of October's show at the N. E. C. even listing the Stars / personalities due to attend.
Wonder If I'll see anybody I know there , always assuming I attend my self. Well I can always get my favoured cheeses without taking on the M6
P.S. / Edit -- there is even mention of the C & MC's Camp

Beautiful day here at Alderstead Heath , barely a cloud in the sky and no children on site. Have to agree with Brian's comments regarding Grand parents and ReR , don't get me wrong I love children , but couldn't eat a whole one 😀😀.

Indeed, we rejected a few sites after looking at the approach roads on Google Earth. However, it is difficult to avoid the traffic calming, which certainly doesn't calm me.☹️ Managed to catch the wheel on a particularly tight chicane going into Aigues Morte. Fortunately tracking still seems OK.

SL, TDA, Mills, OP thank you👍🏻. It sometimes leaves me astounded & Lachrymal. . .Don't get it mixed up with emotional😗😊. The sun is blazing down, so-No OP. When I had a cough my grandma gave me a knob of butter rolled in sugar to melt in my mouth😱. Old folk had some crazy ideas but for the right reasons👍🏻😂

Nice one R2B. Can't help but bring a smile to ones face.
Just having a cuppa before setting off to pick the NellietheHookers and set off for a walk. Enjoyed a smashing day with them yesterday as we headed up onto the Clwydian Range. The views over to Snowdon and down to Cadre Idris were uninterrupted. Beautiful across the valleys. All seemed to enjoy the walk and the evening chat. The CL they are staying on is good but the wifi isn't.
Looks like being a smashing day. Enjoy yourselves whatever you do.

Glad to see that you are recovering well WN and enjoy your day with NH, did a walk up Cadre Idris when on a school camping trip in the sixties that was a long time ago but the week was educational as well but a lot of walking involved but used to that living in Shropshire at the time.
Still got out spotted flycatcher about early evenings.
Trying to rain here but none forecast for the next week and we really need it.
Have a good weekend folks and hope TG not in Spain yet as the southern area has had terrible weather we have some friends due to come back from near Alicante after spending the summer there so hope they are on their way north to the UK think they are on the tunnel 1st October.

You're not at Portchester are you, TDA?
I was checking some video footage from some friends at Santa Pola, just south of Alicante, this morning. Quite horrendous conditions with cars being washed down the street. An E Mail to another friend remains undelivered so I'm wondering if the infrastructure is reeling from it all.

Been busy, slowly working my way through the jungle that our garden has become, with some help from a gardener. As well as usual chores but apart from a dental visit for me a week without medical appointments 😂😂. But I have keep reading posts.
Folks seem to be having good and busy times home and away and the photos have been a lovely added bonus. Lovely sunrise R2B and daffy looks great helenandtrevor. Goldie I hope you kept up with the pace! Wherenext good to read that you are out and about again and your new van is coming very soon - have you sorted a tow car? Sorry if I've missed anyone out 😶.
Drove up to visit son and daughter in law. Good run up m11 reasonable and no problems on a14. Their village show today so we all visited very good exhibits and entries. One entry on the photographic section was of Tim Peake's capsule at Peterborough cathedral. Also visited the village lock-up as it's Heritigate open day. (Had to work for years doing heritage open days and now I can visit our local things I never manage as we seem to be out and about elsewhere!!). Learned that Queen Katherine's had her last overnight rest at Sawtry Abbey before being buried at Peterborough cathedral.
Looking forward to the evening and tomorrow with the 'kids'.

We got back from Burford yesterday, a very nice site. Didn’t manage to make it to the Rose & Crown. Checked out their menu, and the consensus was that it was quite limited and expensive, maybe next time when it’s just the two of us. We’re going on a cruise next Saturday, for two weeks round the Med out of Southampton, looking forward to that 🙂
